Capri I am so glad you had a nice trip and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sorry about the bummer on your sweatshirt but I think Cristabel is right. Just take it to a Disney Store and they should be able to fix it!!

Hope everyone had fun today!

I actually had a pretty good day. First real day that I have gone out for any long period of time. I was hurting a little but I REALLY wanted this day to go well since I haven't been out and about in SO long! I ended up guilting mom into going with us after all! She had made plans to play golf but she ALREADY had plans with OTHER friends for dinner so I told her she NEEDED to spend some time with her grandkids, ESP since she bailed on the DC trip etc. She is gone EVERY flippin weekend and we haven't been over to their house in forever. SOOOO we went over there around 11 and then we went to the Galleria first cuz Children's Place was having a REALLY good sale that was ending today. Plus I checked out the Disney store but didn't see anything great for the exchange. Pretty much all just costumes. But anyway Katy despartely needed new shoes as she has skipped right past 2 sizes in the last year and has grown out of almost every pair of shoes she has so she got a new pair of dress shoes and buy 1 get one half off of some mary janes and tennis shoes. So she is set now for shoes! Then mom bought the girls a few shirts and pants at CP and I got them a few things as well. They had an AMAZING sale with stuff for like 5 bucks!!

We then had some lunch and went and saw Julie and Julia! I was AWESOME!!! If you love food or to cook you will LOVE this movie and even if you don't it was REALLY funny and cute! LOVED it! And Katy (the future chef) was even more excited after seeing it. Don't go on an empty stomach!! It def made us hungry!!

It was a nice girl's day out!

Anyway I am off to figure out something for dinner but glad everyone had a good weekend and talk later!

Beth: maybe you've already done this but can you post somewhere the list of who has signed up for the exchange? I know I sent you a PM but wanted to make sure you got it and that I'm signed up. :thumbsup2
I got your sign up, and Vicki I got yours too. I don't think I've missed anyone, but if you want a list I can do that later. Gotta get the kids ready for school tomorrow now.

Did you guys hear that Rivers of America will be drained during our trip?! I heard that they are draining it in January and it won't be refilled till April! Bummed! No Fantasmic.:sad1:

Sarah
I did hear that. It sucks!!! Oh well. I'll still be there with good friends, and will have a good time. :wizard: Gotta make the best of it, right?? LOL

Oh yeah, it will still be great and I should get to see Fantasmic when I go in September...it's just something I look forward to each time I go...kwim?

So, I am still at work. You're all shocked, I know. It has been a long day...only 4 1/2 hours to go.

Sarah

Hey Everyone.. I thought I'd share a pic of some of the Mexican Crosses that I've been painting all weekend. We finally finished all 500 of them. I just need to make them look vintagey tomorrow with a light rubbing stain.
2hh3rrs.jpg

They are so colorful!:yay: And DONE!:rotfl:

Then at 11 drive to new mexico with my parents for maragaritas and cactus roasted brisket with desert honey chipolte bbq sauce..it is so yuM.

!

Wow, that sounds good!

Around here, the yard sales are sad, but in WV, they are awesome! Most don't seem to use eBay or Craigslist out there, so all the good stuff is still at the yard sales. :thumbsup2

Kelly, Stephanie, and anyone else hurting (D, are you feeling any better?) I hope you all are healing and feeling divalicious soon!

We really want to move back East next year, so I'm working more to make more, but it adds so much stress because I still do all the schooling and therapies. You working moms know what I'm talking about.
!

Oh, those WV yard sales sound really good. I love antiquing and dh let do about an hour of it in the rural area between Montreal and Quebec. You get to see things you never see here at antique stores.

Heather, glad you've got some days off. I'm just about 99%, and am going to work out for the first time in many days tomorrow.

Beth, Glad to hear there was a happy ending to your flooding. Hope you feel better today. I'm also so happy that your Grandma is home, and is feeling great. What a blessing!

Mel, you've been busy! Wanted to say, Beth, I am so happy for you about your Grandma too!

Good morning ladies. :yay:

Well, I'm back from Disneyland, tired and broke - LOL.

Had a nice time but good grief was it HOT and HUMID! A few times I really thought I was going to pass out, and Justin had a few moments when he thought he was going to be sick. We drank water water water all day, but the heat at times was just too much.
*Found Donna's Mickey-vampire shirt - too cute! I'll mail it out to her tomorrow.

Now, the one bad thing......the day we were leaving (right before we left for the airport) I bought a cute Minnie hoodie t-shirt at the World of Disney store, along with some other stuff.
.

Capri, you are so sweet to go to the trouble to help me out! :yay:If an envelope isn't already there for you, it should be there tomorrow. And if there is not a WoD near you, just mail it to me and I'll take it in and have them remove the tag. Oh, I hate when stores forget that!

Sarah

You know, I heard that and didn't think that meant no Fantasmic. Doh. Well, we'll have the fireworks and plenty of fun stuff. You know we know how to have fun at DL!!

Hope everyone had a great holiday. I saw another rare silent film, then had lunch at the Disney soda fountain. Heather, it is okay if you happen to be at the El Capitan, but otherwise, it is not worth leaving DLR for. The store part is very small, they do not give discounts on AP passs (I heard, I didnt buy anything). The restaurant part is mostly ice cream. We only were there because it was close and we'd eaten everywhere else, and we had an out of towner with us. Then we went back to the theater and saw a Goofy cartoon where it's at an ice hockey game. Everyone there looked just like Goofy but they didn't sound like him.

So is anyone else here going to D23 besides Vicki and I?

Hola everyone!!!

Thank YOU for all the compliments on my pictures!! :cloud9: :lovestruc

Vicki, the Dodgers played the San Diego Padres!

Capri, Happy Birthday and welcome home!!! Glad you're home safe and you had a great trip!!! :yay:

They look beautiful and very time consuming!

Dawn, those crosses look wonderful! What a great job you did!

So, I've been on the WDW section of the boards reading trip reports, specifically those from Christmas. I shouldn't have done that!! lol

Now I am seriously missing WDW. It's so pretty there at Christmas. :santa: The last time we went as a family was right after Thanksgiving so we were lucky enough to see all the decorations and go to MVMCP. Each park is done up in such an amazing way. And all the resorts too. I think you could spend 3 weeks there in December and not see all there is to see.

Oh well. Wishful thinking. I couldn't go there without my kids, I'd feel too guilty. And a WDW vacation for SIX isn't gonna happen anytime soon. :rotfl2:

Night all!! :cloud9:

WOW!!! I don't know how you do it. I would go cross eyed if I had to paint that many. What a lovely thing to do though. :goodvibes

Donna, I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm glad I didn't miss out on much as far as the soda fountain goes. I would still like to see it someday. I would LOVE to go on the Disney Adventures Hollywood/Backstage magic tour, but it's really expensive. You get to see so many behind the scenes things, and the theater is on it's list. Maybe some day.

Kelly, I'm glad you had a good day. That movie does sound very cute, I'm sure I would enjoy it.

Goodnight all.

I was just looking at the Adventures by disney website! If I ever get a windfall I want to do one of them...I'm not even too specific about which one! I would enjoy the Australia one or maybe the Wyoming one...I don't know, maybe the Italy one....they all look so great!

Don't they look like fun! The backstage one has lots of things that I would enjoy. You get to see Walt's apartment, behind the scenes at Indy, etc. The other trips sound wonderful also. If I could just win the lottery, that would be wonderful!

Heather

I just read someones trip report from that one and it sounds like so much fun! I just checked out the England/france one and that looked so great! How could a person ever choose?

Sarah

PS Not that I have 20,000 to be able to afford a trip like that!

Thanks to everyone who has sent good wishes my way. Everything is fine now and my heart is happier than ever. That's all that matters. We're still together and moving forward with the whole enjoying life in every aspect plan. I'm so sad that my report is so short but I've read many of the posts from everyone and I just want to say that I truly love you all and miss you terribly. I'll be back soon I promise.

One final note... I'm sending pixie dust and prayers to everyone who needs them and warm fuzzies to all! :grouphug:

Hi Ladies!

I'm back from Disneyland, sadly. Gosh, I was not happy to be home today to this packing madness and wished I could still be at Disneyland. We had a great trip and I did my race!! :yay: And I got to see Cheryl and Capri! :cool1:

Here are my results:

Chip Time 2:36:32
Overall Place 6325 / 11643
Gender Place 3258 / 7262
Division Place 565 / 1190
Age Grade 43.5%
5K 42:35
10K 1:17:50
15K 1:56:11

I would have liked to have been about 10 minutes faster. Too many potty stops and got stuck in people jams in the parks. Next time I'll know how to maneuver the crowds! It was a fun race and going through Anaheim stadium and Disneyland and DCA were definite highlights. I wore my Diva shirt in honor of all you ladies!

Now I have to pack. I'm seriously panicking because I have no idea how it is going to happen in time. I'm completely overwhelmed. :scared1:

Going to do a little more and then head to bed.

G'nite...
-Jen

Good Morning Friends:goodvibes

I hope today is good for each of you! Thanks for all the sweet words on the crosses..they are about the size of Your hand from fingertip to palms end. I also made a pretty note card to go with each one..that is of the Patron Saint for Land deals and real estate transactions. These are for a local event that my husbands company partipates in each year. I always make the promos. It saves money, and in this economy, I try to save as much as I can on promos because I never want to waste any money that could be someone's christmas bonus. So..the little crosses where 20 cents each to make. Alot of time, but worth it as everyone will be proud to give them out at our booth, and our clients will be happy.

Capri... i'm so glad you got a little break..you've been working so hard.
Tina..biiiiiiiiiiiiG hug for You. hey have you ever put vanilla on as perfume when you are cooking? I have:rotfl:
Cheryl... You always make the best things, I love the way You and Your mom cook. Just a few days til i get to see You!!! Today I'm going to pack.:yay:
BC_Disney_Lover.. i'm so glad you are going on the girls only trip!
Beth... i hope all the bad things are behind you and only good lays in wait this week. Sometimes it does seem to be like..what next?
Melodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.... You're family is lucky to have You.
Jen... Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! You did Great
Donna..have the bestest time at Club 23 with Vicki! It's so nice that friends have been made on this thread. I can't wait to see what treasures You find.
Sarah and Heather.. i really enjoyed reading both of your posts. I guess that's what i've been missing from this thread..the way people talk and dream together. It brings such a happiness to the thread. Thanks for sharing that conversation about Disney Dreams.
Alright we need posts from Debra, Stacierita and Wendy!

Hi Jen! Good luck with the packing. Just keep at it and it will get done, really! I think it is so cool that you and your boys did the race. What a great experience. You did awesome too! I hope that your move goes well and I look forward to reading about your adventure. Take care, Tracey

LOL-- I never make them the same way twice. Basics are fresh salmon, skinned, cut in cubes and then food processed into "burger"; an egg or two, seasoned bread crumbs, garlic salt, minced onion, pepper, and then whatever herbs I have growing in my garden or have bought. last night I used dill, cilantro and a little mint (last time I used chives). Mix it all together and make burgers--I stored them between wax paper so they're ready to go! I actually don't grill them because they're delicate--I saute in a little olive oil.

My family has always made these, but we call them salmon patties. We also make a sort of Salmon Soufle, which is fabulous. Crushed Ritz Crackers work great and add a bit of sweetness. That was me growing up. My current family, hubby from Minnesota, and fussy kids don't eat salmon. My oldest actually walked into the kitchen one day when I was cooking it and vomited:scared1: I have mostly given up cooking it, and try to eat my salmon when we eat out, except for the individual size salmon pieces that Costco sells, which I can sneak on the BBQ every now and again. But your recipe brought back great memories and sounded so yummy. Oh, we used home canned salmon too. (always had to can it when the salmon were running you know)

Capri, Happy Birthday and welcome home. Your report is scaring me because I hate the heat and am headed there tomorrow for the day. Off to check the weather report.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I made major dents in my organizing and I am finally feel like I might get caught up one day. Maybe???

Have a wonderful day all. Tracey

Good morning everyone. :yay:

Thanks for all the Happy Birthdays. :grouphug:

I would love to take the shirt to a Disney store to have the security tag removed, but we don't have a Disney store anywhere near Spokane. I would try to take it off myself, but it's one of those "Ink" tags that explode ink if someone trys to pry it off. I'm going to take it to a store my husband used to manage (Big R) and see if they can do it, but the tags they remove from their clothing are an older style (I think) so I'm not sure if they'll be able to do it. If they can't do it, then I'm going to take it to a store we frequent a lot (Fred Meyers) and ask if they could do it. I have the receipt which shows I paid for it, so I'm hoping I won't have any problems finding some store willing to do it for me. Otherwise I don't know what I'm going to do......I might have to take Donna up on her offer. :goodvibes

Donna - I'm mailing your shirt to you today. :woohoo:

Dawn - Those crosses are VERY beautiful! :thumbsup2

Jen - Wow, you did great at the race! I'm so proud of you! Now just relax, take a deep breath, don't panick about the packing. Just take things one step at a time.

Well today is the first day of school for our boys. It should be mayhem here this morning in about 30 minutes - LOL.
