Just got back from the specialist and I have an abscess! Besides the other issues I have in that area I have a large abscess and that is probably why I have been in pain for the last 3 months both there and in my back and possibly in my bladder as well.

He has to go in and cut it out and let it drain. He is going to take care of the other stuff that I have going on as well. He said I needed surgery but didn't say how soon but they were able to get me in tomorrow believe it or not! So I have surgery at 1 tomorrow. I am not looking forward to having to go till 1 without eating because of my migraines but I guess I will have to make due somehow.

I just hope this goes ok. Of course I have to go under general anesthesia again and then I know it is going to be a very painful recovery. He said it should take about 2 weeks till I am back to normal. I am nervous but I also want it fixed.

Anyway that's what's up with me.

I may not be on for awhile it just depends on how much pain I am in. I will probably be on tomorrow morning before I leave but not sure after that.

Kelly--what a bittersweet thing--on the one hand maybe now you can get it fixed and be better but on the other hand having to go through surgery and recovery (yuck) but on the other hand (we're up to three hands if anyone's counting) you're having it right away instead of having to sit around and stress about it but on the other hand (yep, four) you won't get to eat tomorrow! Whew!

Best wishes tomorrow--I hope they get "everything" fixed up so that you're good to travel with us Divas!

Christabel - Good luck with the big move today sweetie. Whoo hooo! :woohoo:

AmySue - I hope your knee heals quickly babe. Take care of yourself! You're in my prayers.

Megan - Those babies of yours are the cutest! Good to see you here!

Kelly - Oh sweetie, what a bummer that you have to have another surgery, but I'm so glad the doctor found out what the problem is and hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) this will end all that horrible pain! Stay strong and I'll keep you in my prayers.

That ship has sailed.

You are one funny lady!!!

4 weeks from today I will be in Disneyland!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

Yay!!!!

Ok...I'll let a long story tried to be told in a short story.

My oldest DD Becky studied in Madrid in 2004. Dave and I decided that this was our chance to see Europe and visit Becky. I planned the whole thing myself following Rick Steves travel books. We were to be gone for 3 weeks, all over the place.

Our first week was to be in England. A few days into our trip, Dave had a heart attack while we were in London. Needless to say, it was a nightmare for him and I. I won't go into the details of it, but it was scary being so far away from home and the support of family. Changing hotels, being by myself, trying to get all of finances and health stuff together, making phone calls home with endless phone cards, being a total basket case.

He ended up getting angioplasty there, and the rest of our trip was changed dramatically. Becky was able to leave school a week early to make her spring break into 2 weeks. To see her at the airport in London ater he got out of the hospital, was the best medicine Dave could have had. We had an extended vacation in London. We did as much sight seeing as possible without tiring him out. When the doctor finally gave his blessing for us to leave, we headed out on the trains back to Madrid. I will say that it was a blessing that we were in a English speaking country for all of this to happen. The rest of the trip was not so fortunate.

Now keep in mind, that I no longer could use my original train schedule, and finding internet cafes was a challenge to find out when trains were leaving, making connections and so forth. Never got to see Pais, Venice, Florence or Rome as planned.

While on the train in Germany, we heard about the terrorist train bombings in Madrid. I was soooooooo thankful that Becky was with us. From then on the trains became HORRIBLE!! I just can not explain to you, how scary it was for me. Especially in France. I call them the Gestapo. Very rude, banging on bathrooms while I was in there, demanding Passports with machine guns strapped on their backs. I know that they were being cautious, but their attitude was so bad. I was also an emotional wreck from the heart attack experience yet.

It was weird, but Dave became very reliant on me for EVERYTHING, which is so not him. (I've heard this happens to heart attack patients) So I took care of everything money, schedules, phone calls home, food, finding lodging, making sure we didn't sleep through a train change. I didn't get much sleep at all.

Finally arriving in Madrid was just plain bad. We saw the bombed trains coming into the station, and our hotel reservation just happened to be by some government building with lots of red votives in honor of the victims. And now the Americans were the bad guys, with posters and all. Can I just say that I felt like Dorothy from the Wizard of OZ. "There's no place like home, there's no place like home."

Even though I tried to keep my story short, there is so much more that happened. It would take a book almost. I still cry when I talk about it. My best friend tried to get me to go to Holland with her and her Mom and Sister this month. It would have been the perfect opportunity to visit, cuz we all would have stayed with family there, and her Mom speaks Dutch. But I'm still not ready..............not ever sure if I will be.

So that is why, I won't be saving for a trip to Paris.:sad2:

One good thing did come out of this experience. While at the internet cafes, Becky emailed all of friends about her Daddy asking for prayers. It was forwarded to an old friend from HS too. They became connected again, and now this old friend is her husband. :cloud9:

Yikes! Talk about a scary expeience!

Afternoon all! Mel that is a crazy story about your Europe trip and very scary too. I had a lot of crazy things happen to me in Europe as well but no time to go into it.

Good luck, Kelly!

I just wanted to stop in real quick, friends! I'm off to my second job of the day. I'll check in later tonight!

Big hugs to all!!!!!!!!

Dawn: Start saving your money! I agree about liking having a future trip to plan for...this should be a good one!

Mel: Oh my! What a scary experience! I can understand your reluctance to travel abroad, but I hope that you will venture overseas because travel can be so much fun.

Vicki: YES, come visit in Switzerland!! And let's try to plan your Europe trip around a DLP trip.

Capri: When are you going to DL? In less than 2 weeks? Isn't that Labor Day weekend? Are we going to be there at the same time? I'll be there Sept 4-7.

Kelly: So glad they found what is wrong so you can get it fixed and finally feel better. Much pixie dust to you for a successful surgery and speedy recovery! :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

Cristabel: So excited for your move! Good luck with everything. Wishing many wonderful things to come to you in this next adventure!

Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all doing well. There is an artist (graphic design) who drew a pig character. I believe he wanted to make a pig but it turned out differently. :rotfl: I have it as an iTouch wallpaper but decided to make a throw pillow out of it for my bedroom. Here's how it turned out:

4 weeks from today I will be in Disneyland!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

4 weeks from Saturday, I'll be meeting more of you. Yay.

Beth, I can also help with the HOB reservations. Can each of us do these reservations for part of the group so that no one person is on the hook for the whole thing?

Vicki -- Thanks for your tour report. It almost makes me think of joining D23.

I've never been to Goofy's and only once to Napa Rose but Napa Rose sounds much better. I'd love to go again.

Until later, Ann

Capri: When are you going to DL? In less than 2 weeks? Isn't that Labor Day weekend? Are we going to be there at the same time? I'll be there Sept 4-7.

Jen, we get there on Aug 31, and we leave the night of September 5th. :yay:

Where are you staying? We're staying at the HOJO in one of the new kid suites. My kids are so exited!

Is your whole family coming? We should try to meet up. :yay:

(But you can't yell at me for gaining weight. Okay, well you can yell at me, but do it quietly. :rolleyes1)

If I win the lottery, strike oil, coal, or gold, or find out I'm the recipient of an inheritance from some long lost relative, then I will go with you all to Paris.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Heather

Love the new pic in your sig!

Thanks. You'll just have to come visit me in Europe! And are you joining the DL Labor Day meet?

Im going to try. Have a wedding to go to that weekend.

That ship has sailed.

:rotfl2:

I had no intention of staying up this late tonight. I was feeling very shweepy while watching tv around 9pm. Since then I had my hair dyed, clothes washed/dried/packed, ironed my outfit for today, sealed up my box, taped my under-bed shoe box so my shoes don't fly out, taped my 3 drawer plastic storage box, and somewhat organized the mess in my room.

I have 1 box, 1 duffel bag, 2 jam packed IKEA blue bags (the REAL big ones), 1 stuffed backpack, (1) 3 drawer mini storage box, 1 large cloth bag and my purse.

*faints*

I'm off to bed because I'm exhausted and I'll have to be up in 7 hours. At least I'll be able to sleep in the car on the way there...Oh, wait, I'll be driving

Hope everything with the move goes smoothly.

What a horrible trip. I don't blame you for not wanting to go back. But how sweet that she reconnected with him and now they are married.

Amy Sue - Good luck with the surgery tomorrow. With you laid up some, I expect your farm to be in tip top shape. :rotfl:

And now for an episode of Tina's "Wow, maybe I do go to Disneyland too much!"

I got an email from the mayor of Frontierland today. Well, the CM who plays the mayor, as well as the mayor of Main St, who would announced the winner of the Dram Suite. And he played Jedediah Jones with the Miner 49ers in DCA.

He wanted to let me know that he was no longer working at Disneyland, but he just booked a commercial for Disney, filming in Disneyland tomorrow.

We met him in the park, and then the first time we went to see my boyfriend's Elvis show, he was there, so we had a few drinks together.

Wierd, I know.......................

Neener neener neeeeeener.......I'll be in Disneyland in less than two weeks. LOL! ;) ;)

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I'm in a wicked mood. Blame the hormones. :rolleyes1

Neener neener neeeeeeener ... I'll be in Disneyland in less than 3 days!!! Couldn't help myself either!!

Beth, I can also help with the HOB reservations. Can each of us do these reservations for part of the group so that no one person is on the hook for the whole thing?

I thought I remember Beth saying that the reservation had to be made for everyone all at once, or we might not be seated together... or was that for another place? Can't remember now...

Okay, I just got back from moving my DS into his dorm at ASU. It's 108 degrees out!! Why today?? But everything went very smoothly, he even got to switch his room because they screwed up his registration and didn't put him with his friend, when they both requested each other right from the beginning. It sounded like it would be a hassle, but glad it wasn't! Then our battery in our minivan died! Just like that!! Luckily there was someone parked next to us with jumper cables! But again, it's 108 degrees out!!

I didn't really cry, but did get teary eyed. I think it was easier because he's the 2nd one to go, and he's much closer than DD. Anyways, we'll see how I feel in a couple of weeks!

Prayers to everyone who needs them. And hugs to everyone, too! :grouphug:

What a day Stacie! I'm glad it all worked out, but that sucks about the van.

You'll see Zach a lot in a few weeks I bet. Your laundry and cooking skills will call him home. :thumbsup2

Kelly: At least now they know and you can finally deal with this and hopefully feel much better soon!

Cristabel: Good luck!!! One of the biggest fights I ever had with my parents was while we were packing the car for me to move into college my freshman year. I hope things go much, much smoother for you than they did for me!

Heather: I am so jealous that you will be at DL so soon. I am going in just over two weeks and that doesn't feel soon enough for me!

Capri and Jen: Hope to see you at DL. We check into the Hojo on the 4th and will be there until the 8th.

AmySue: Best wishes for a speedy recovery. You need to get that knee back into shape if you're going to be ready to tackle WDW in November!

Mel: What a nightmare... I don't blame you for being scared to travel abroad again. But, I hope that if the opportunity presents itself that you won't let life pass you by--it's too short to be paralyzed by fear.

Everyone else, I hope that life is treating you well. The new students arrive here starting tomorrow and then the next two weeks are pure insanity. But, the light at the end of the tunnel is Labor Day at DLR and then the Halloween trip in October. Oh, and if any of you can get my darling Ty to sleep past 5:30 it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, Heather! Make sure you blow a kiss his way from me!

And happy birthday to you, since I imagine you won't be on the boards on your real bday.

Yes, my whole family is coming and it would be great to meet up! We're driving down on Friday, so I don't know when we'll be there. DH and the kids have their races on Saturday. I think afternoon could be good on Sept 5. I need to find out when the 5k and kids races are.

And I won't even comment on that comment about me yelling at you, except to say "don't be RIDICULOUS!" I think I need to tone down the "trainer" reputation I'm getting. Maybe the tag fairy needs to grace me with a new tag. Ah, but then I'd have to say something clever or funny. Guess that's not gonna happen anytime soon. :lmao:

Heather - Happy (early) Birthday :cheer2: :cheer2: Have a fantabulous trip to Disneyland and have a corn dog for me, 'K???......... and maybe a frozen apple juice too :thumbsup2

Hey girls. I apologize I haven't been on the boards (and this thread) as much as I normally am.

Yesterday was my Aunt's memorial service and it was really really nice. And really really sad. I wasn't real close to her, but my eyes still watered. It broke my heart to see my grandparents so sad. And my Uncle. He looks a lot like my Dad and I think that's why I got so sad when I saw him.

Hope all is well with everyone!! :)

Morning all. Thanks so much to all those who gave well wishes. Yesterday was a crazy day I have to say. I was really shocked when they said they could get me in so quick but I am glad. Cheryl you are so right. After he told me what has to be done I am kinda glad I don't have to sit around and think about it because I am nervous enough!! It sounds VERY painful but I know it must be done to get this thing fixed. Yesterday I had to go hurry up and get bloodwork done and then an ekg/cardiac clearance. And due to the nature of what is being done I decided to go ahead and start eating soft stuff now. He told me I could eat regular food and just take my miralax but I would rather be safe than sorry. I wanted to be kind of "full" so I wouldn't get hungry today esp since I can't even have any water BUT I don't want anything that is going to bulk up on me later sooo I just had a milkshake last night. I hadn't eaten anything BEFORE my apt and then for lunch yesterday all I had was a bowl of soup so I might just lose some weight after all LOL.

I don't want to eat ANYTHING solid for awhile cuz I am afraid! I just keep telling myself that this HAS to be done and hopefully eventhough I will have initial pain at first that hopefully this will fix the problem and I will FINALLY be better! It makes sense though why I have had so much ongoing pain and esp the back pain with this stupid infection. NO WONDER! LOL.

Anyway Jen good luck with all your move and job mess. I sure hope they come through for you but like I said before on the workout thread it seems like this is meant to be for you guys and I am positive that you will probably find something there if nothing else and what a GREAT experience for you and your family! I only WISH I could take you up on meeting you! I have wanted to go back to Europe for years! I have only been once in 83 but it is SO expensive we haven't been back. Mom really wants to go and take the girls but money is always an issue. We are hoping that hopefully in the next 5 years it will workout but who knows.

Heather HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I don't know if I will be on tomorrow or not but just wanted to say it early! Love your new siggy pic! CUTE! Have a great one!

Courtney good to see you and again sorry about your aunt!

And a hi to Jane, Tina, Capri, both Stacie's, Teresa and anyone else I may have forgotten.

Have fun all of those that are going to DL soon! I won't say I am jealous cuz right now I wouldn't enjoy it much but hopefully soon I WILL be able to! ;)

I am off here in a few hours and don't know when I will be on again. Just depends on how I feel. If I don't see you guys for a few days have a GREAT weekend and talk soon!

Good luck with the job Jen.

Cristobel, I hope your move goes smoothly.

Hi girls.

Ugh I started working again, mid shift, its not my favorite shift but oh well.
I am sick. Stuff nose, sore throat, I feel like poo!!!!!!

Tonight is my friends bridal shower so I hope that I am feeling better tonight.

I see my ortho doc again today. My knee was so much better before I had surgery.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Vicki -- Thanks for your tour report. It almost makes me think of joining D23.

Hi Ann - I may have tickets for the D23 Expo for Sat. and Sun if you might like to go. I had gotten tickets for Bob and he found out he will likely be out of town on business. If you think you might like the tickets please let me know!

Vicki: YES, come visit in Switzerland!! And let's try to plan your Europe trip around a DLP trip.

:thumbsup2 I'll start saving now! My parents are going to Switzerland in Oct. so I'll get to see lots of pictures.

I am not sure if we'll go to DL during the Labor Day weekend but if we do decide to come down I'll give you a call. I have your number from the last time we met! Have fun running the half! You are my running hero!

Neener neener neeeeeeener ... I'll be in Disneyland in less than 3 days!!! Couldn't help myself either!!

When I moved Whitney in the dorms for her freshman year at ASU the temps were just as hot. It was miserable! We had several challenges ourselves with moving in day but we made it through. What dorm is he in? Whit got stuck in Manzanita because her dad was late on the pyament - she was not happy but I didn't think it was so bad. This year she is in a new apt building on campus - I can't remember the name but it is more centrally located.

Will you be at DL on Sat?

Neener neener neeeeeeener ... I'll be in Disneyland in less than 20 hours!!! Couldn't help myself either!! I had to do it!!! :woohoo:

Can't wait to meet you on Sat. and help celebrate your BD!
