Sally's birthday lunch was so nice. Dawn did an outstanding job, and it was so nice to see everyone. I really enjoyed it.

Also reallly enjoyed our visit with Wally Boag. I'll post pictures later. There are a couple on Facebook under Tina & my names.

You met Wally Boag????!!!!???? OMG!!!! That would be soooo cool! I want to hear all about it!

Sarah

I'm working on my photo intense trip report just for you! Tracey
Ooooh good. I can't wait. popcorn::

I posted a mini report on the Oct thread about our Halloween meet.
Oh, I've got to go check that out right now!

Happy Belated Birthday Beth!
I thought of you when I was in the park. I know you really wanted to go but if it makes you feel any better the park was CROWDED and it was hot and muggy!
Well, I'm glad I wasn't there if that's the case, but it doesn't make me feel better, because I was really hoping you'd all catch a break with the weather and crowds. I hope it wasn't too bad. In any case, I know y'all had fun. :goodvibes

4 months from today is our Divas trip!!!! WOO HOO!!! It is getting close! I was mia for a while, did we ever decide on a shirt?

As for the shirt, Melody's son is working on some options for us. :)

Happy Monday everyone!!! Anyone??? :rotfl:
I think everyone is either still at DL, on their way home from DL, or recovering from DL.

Have a good day ladies!

and they are VERY CUTE options! I saw them this weekend.

Beth--hope your birthday was great!

I'm here!

Beth, I hope you had a wonderful birthday. And I hope the girls who were at DL had a great time!

Good afternoon!
I'm so beat from this past weekend at DL. Friday I arrived at 10am and didn't make it back to HOJO's until midnight. On Saturday I did part of MM, getting there at 7:30am and got back to the hotel at 10:30pm. I slept in on Sunday since the lunch wasn't until 11:15am.

School is really hard today since my eyelids feel like they weigh a ton. I'm driving home today to celebrate Diana's 23rd birthday tomorrow. I will definitely be taking a nap before I head home.

Hope everyone else is having a good Monday.
Halloween is this Saturday!

Thank you everyone once again for all the birthday wishes. OMG, I had so many posts on Facebook, it truly brought a smile to my face and made me feel good that you all took time to wish me a happy birthday. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

It was a fun day!!! We were out literally all day long. I'm exhausted now. I'll post some pics tomorrow on FB. And I look forward to seeing more of the DL pics too!!! :yay:

Night!

:bday: Sorry I missed your birthday but as I am way older than you I forget things. I turn 57 on Wednesday so you can see how old I am. :lmao:

Hi Ladies--

Just a quick post to see if I can get some good ideas! Since I'm the only American parent in the kids international school, I've been asked to bring some Halloween food and lead some Halloween activities for the party this Friday. Does anyone have some easy for stuff that is quick and easy to do, but lots of fun? And ingredients need to be kind of basic and easy to find, cause I can't get everything here.

Thanks so much ladies. I know you all have lots and lots of wonderful ideas.

Jen, this page has some great ideas. My kids have personally done the wrap the mummy game, the pin the nose on the pumpkin game, and the pumpkin toss. They love it. http://entertaining.about.com/od/halloween/a/hallowkidgames.htm

Also there is Halloween bingo. Do a Google search for that and you'll find print outs you can use.

Another fun game the kids did one year was the donut game. http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/donut_game.htm

As for treats, I haven't tried these yet, but they seem super easy. I'm going to make them this Friday with the kids. They are called Forked Eyeballs: http://familyfun.go.com/halloween/halloween-recipes/halloween-cakes-cupcakes/forked-eyeballs-784937/

The only thing I'm not sure about is what ingredients you have access to over there. :confused3

I hadn't really thought about there being anything classified as "halloween food", but what about caramel apples and popcorn balls?

Last year I printed out pumpkins and different eyes, noses and mouths and let the kids glue together jack-o-lanterns. Or just black construction paper and let them cut out their own shapes. Tissue paper ghosts are pretty easy:) Don't forget bobbing for apples.

Have fun!

Jen, I'm surprised that 1) you are the only American in the international school and 2) that other countries don't celebrate Halloween? Wow, so glad to be American -- :rotfl2:

I remember bobbing for apples. You put purple or green food dye in the water to make it spooky.

Hey all! Cool that there are some designs in the works, can't wait to see them!

Shirley, I didn't know your birthday was so close!!! Happy birthday!

A friend of mine had a baby girl this morning. Named her Kameryn Jean. Everyone is fine and healthy but due to H1N1 no one is allowed in the hospital to see her. Can you imagine!!! She is allowed only 2 adult people to be with her and you can't change out people! Luckily she will get to go home soon, but having visitors was my favorite part about being in the hospital...it would be so boring and disappointing to not get that! Good thoughts for my friend and her first little one please!

Sarah

Thanks for the ideas! Definitely will use them.

LOVE the forked eyeballs...but where do I get donut holes in Switzerland. Think I'll do the Jack Skellington cupcakes...but I couldn't find black frosting in a tube...only silver. Will it work?

Gotta improvise here. Fortunately, I think 6 year olds are still pretty forgiving.

Good morning everyone!

I have a quick minute to check in before I run around for the day.

Beth- Happy Belated birthday. Hope you had a great day.

Had a great time at the meet even though I got a little sick Saturday morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!!

Beth Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like you had a good day! I know that must have been really hard not to go to DL but you are a good sensible mom and you did the right thing! ;) I am sure you had a GREAT day with your family and soon you will be in DL! :)

I had a GREAT time as did Shane and the girls and thanks to everyone. We had a lot of fun. I posted a little TR on the Oct thread and I have pics on FB.

I am busy today with all my laundry and have to run out and get my pics developed, pick up my mail etc etc.

Hope everyone is well and made it home safely! Take care all and talk soon! :)
