Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Cheryl, I'm sorry your mom is having a mystery fever and symptoms. I hope they are able to figure out what's causing it so it can be treated. Hope you are able to get some better sleep tonight. Living at the hospital has got to be tough. HUGS!

Callie

Glad you had such a great time doing your shirts! What a blast that would be! Isn't Vicki the sweetest! I really enjoyed meeting her in Vancouver and then seeing her again in DL in September. I can't wait to see the results of your shirt blinging party...did you take pics?

Hi Sarah. Sorry, but my dh hasn't gotten around to it yet. After vacation, he came home to a slammed schedule and needs to dig through his inbox first before helping me with the Diva stuff again.

I'd say we'll have them ready to print out in the next week or so. Thanks for being patient. :goodvibes

No worries, he is so nice to be doing it at all! Isn't it frustrating to come home from a nice relaxing vacation only to be slammed?!?! You just need to turn right back around and have another vacation!

Again, no worries, was just curious!

We didn't take any pics of the finished products. I will take a pic of mine if I get a chance to tonight. Off to cook dinner & clean up. :)

I put my cell in a bag of rice, praying that it'll work. The lights on the keyboard light up but the screen is black.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I've been there with the wet phone. First thing you do (and this is more for everyone else, I guess, unless it happens again to you), is TURN OFF THE PHONE. (I did not do this). Leave it off.
You can try putting it in uncooked rice, preferably in tupperware, and not touching it for 5 days - no peeking. You can google this.

And get insurance if it will cover water - some don't. And if you bought your phone recently with a good credit card, they often cover you for a period of time (I think AE is 3 months).

Smoked turkey and ribs. Ha ha....how about that combo?
s

Yum!

I would love to meet there also!
.

I encourage a face to face meetup in whatever part of the US you live in. There's nothing like it.

LOL--yeah, Rosa Regale would be good, but it's kinda pricey for a group.

Ok, so another exciting night here. I ended up having to call the paramedics and take my Mom to the hospital--turns out she had a fever of 103, which explained why she was talking nonsense and stuff! But they are not sure what caused the fever because her blood and other tests came back normal. At one point they thought she might have gout because her foot was swollen and suddenly painful. This morning her fever is normal and according to the nurse she is alert. I got in at 2:30 and didn't get to bed until 3 so am going to take a shower now and go pick up some things she needs at the house and go to the hospital.

Agree with Cheryl that Rosa is too pricey for the pizza drink.

I am really glad you got your mom into the hospital so quickly - good for you. Please keep us posted. And say hi for me. She is the coolest lady.

Yeah, those are the ones. They have 2 new sparkling wines, Peach Sparkle and Raspberry Sparkle. Haven't tried those though. And what's wrong with wine coolers?? I sometimes like those more than regular wine... The Exotic Fruits White Zin is SOOO good!!

Agree, wine coolers and sparkling wines would be great for the pizza night.

Courtney, her mom, Donna & Vicki just left. We all got our shirts / hoodies done and blinged out. They look super cute (even if I do say so myself).

It was really fun having everyone over. I think we all got more excited for the trip while chatting, making our shirts and eating lunch.

A big THANK YOU to Kerry, for being such a fabulous hostess. She had all the crafts already spread out for us, and a wonderful buffet. It couldn't have been better prepared if Martha herself had planned this. Our shirts/hoodies do look wonderful, and we are now energized for the trip. It was a really fun day, thanks to you and your DH! :goodvibes

And what am I, chopped livah? :lmao::rotfl:
Actually we did not take pics. You'll have to wait for the trip to be shocked and amazed!!!
It was great to meet Courtney and her mom, Felicia, two divas new to the trip this year! We had such a good time, laughing and chatting.
:dance3:

Cheryl - Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. It's so scary when our parents end up in the hospital. I hope it's nothing too serious and she gets better soon! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. And you take care of yourself too!

Beth - Hope you and Rueben have a great time tonight!

Kerry - Wow, sounds like all of you had a great time! Wish I could have been there.....I haven't even started on my shirt yet. And, I don't have a color printer to boot. I think I'll have to sneak over to my parents house and use their color printer. :thumbsup2

Cristabel, Tina, and Katie - :grouphug: (just because I thought you could use a hug)

Melody - enjoy your family! How fun to all be together! :yay:

Stacielee - I like wine coolers too. :thumbsup2

Homework hell for me today - UGH! I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo burned out with school/homework right now. I just don't wanna do anymore! Waaaaaaaaaa! Sick of it! Sick of it! Sick of it! :crazy2::sad:

The only news I have on my dad is that the aortic aneurysm is closer to his abdominal area. They would like to do a scan, but they have to do some tests first to see if his kidneys can handle the dye/contrast required to get a good scan.....but I already know the tests will probably show his kidneys won't be able to handle it because he had the same test done when he was in the hospital a month ago and it was a NO GO due to poor kidney function.

Lukey got a black eye after running into a chair in our house. He looks like Rocky. Justin and I have been humming the Rocky theme to him. He just growls at us.....and smiles. :goodvibes

Silly! Of course not! I just got such great one on one time with Vicki and I obviously need more of that with you! I look forward to that opportunity on the trip...and don't you agree that vicki is fab?!?

LOL! That is so funny! Sounds like some of the stories I hear from my dh childhood...although his brother always ended up with scars and trips to the hospital! He ran into more things with his head, that boy! In fact, both my dh and my bil have a bunch of scars on their heads...then when I was pregnant with ds I had a shelf fall on me and got a scar on my head and then when I had the emergency c-section with my son they nicked him when they were getting him out, so before he was even born all the way he got a scar on his head! It's like tradition now, or maybe a right of passage into the family!

Oooh, what did you use to bling them out?? That sounds like so much fun :thumbsup2

We are in the teens people! And soon we will be in the singe digits! This is surreal!

Woo hoo :woohoo:

Yay, we want to see :thumbsup2

Ah hem - whatever part of the US?? Angie and I may be sad then.......... ;)

Sounds like some of you divas are having a much better (and more interesting) day than I am. Worked all day - woo hoo - and now I'm making chicken corn chowder for dinner. Jesse is into UFC, so we have the PPV UFC 109 (from Vegas, baby!) on tonight (not a fan myself, but I'll watch it as a family activity - hey, I get to go the DL, so I'm not going to complain :rolleyes1)

Don't worry, those of us in Washington would never leave out our lovely neighbors to the north!

SarahMay

Yup, I think we are only about 30 minutes apart, right? I am about 10 minutes from the border, what about you?

Cheryl - I hope your mom feels better soon and that it's nothing serious.

Bummer Cristabel about your phone. Did you have insurance?

Cristabel - Did you have insurance? Try looking on ebay for a replacement phone. When are you eligible for an upgrade?

No insurance but thankfully it was still under warranty. I went to the T-mobile store off of Lincoln and because the water damage sticker was unaffected, I qualified for the warranty  So they're mailing to my parents' house this week and it'll only cost me about $10 for shipping. The rep said I could either pay $20 + tax for a new SIM card or just buy any accessory and get the SIM card for free. So I bought a silicone gel cover which came out to be $14 :thumbsup2 I'm so relieved it worked out. The thing is, now I will have nobody's phone info.

So when can we expect to be able to print out our nametags? No rush, just trying to get an idea so I make sure not to forget to do it!

It is VERY exciting :woohoo:

After getting everything resolved with T-Mobile I headed to DTD. While I was there yesterday I was having so much fun with Amy and Claire that I forgot to go get the tickets for HOB Gospel brunch. I parked in the DTD parking lot and for the first time walked the entire DTD area. If my AP covered the cost of parking in the DTD parking lot I would park there everytime! No hassle with getting into the structure, finding parking (usually very far away), waiting for the tram, riding the tram, and then FINALLY getting through security. Through DTD I could easily take the monorail straight into DLR.

I bought the tickets, ate at WWS and just walked. It was really nice.

Then I did my grocery shopping and now I'm back at my apt.

I counted about 10 of us that live in the NW - I knew there were a few but didn't realize so many until I started counting heads. It will be fun to have a Seattle meet! I think the summer would be a good time. Should we bring families or make it Divas only? We could get 2 or 3 rooms for a night. How far are you NW Divas from Seattle? I am almost 4 hours. I haven't been there for about three years. Since then I have been to Orcas Island, Gig Harbor, and Tacoma but didn't get into Seattle. I want to visit the Experience Museum! Should we splurge for lunch at the Space Needle? Haven't done that for a long time.

Beth, it sounds like you need to move up here. Give it a few weeks and you will get over this cold and rainy thing you have going.

Bryan is sick with the flu. He started feeling bad last night and has a fever, headache, diarrhea and vomiting. So I ended up selling our tickets to the basketball game and will have to watch the Blazers beat the Lakers on TV. :happytv: :cool1:

Mike is in Scottsdale at a seminar and will be coming home tomorrow just in time for Superbowl. I will probably watch it on and off while doing other things. I have a hard time sitting through a whole football game and we are not getting together with anyone this year. Bryan is supposed to go to a party but I doubt he will be better by tomorrow.

Oops I just remembered I need to get my Sunday School lesson ready so better get busy.

I'm about 2 to 2 1/2 hours from Seattle. I think as far as families depends on what we decide to do...my kids are only 4 and 1 so the music experience would not be good for them (though I would love to do it as I have never been!) but if we did the aquarium or zoo that would be perfect for them, so it just depends on what we want to do! As long as it is on a weekend I could do a night stay.

We live in Spokane, so we're about 5 hours from Seattle. I would want to bring my family because.....well....I would feel guilty if I didn't. You know, I go on the Diva trip without them every year. I just couldn't do that again in the summer on another trip....and if I ever go on a Vegas Diva trip, leave them home again.

And in all honesty, Justin and the boys would love to make a trip over there to meet some of the Divas and have some fun in Seattle.

I just don't know if it's in the budget though.
