Where is everyone eating dinner on Saturday evening (March 7th)?

Does anyone want to have dinner (and drinks) at the Jazz Kitchen (around 5:00pm or so) before Fantasmic (or whatever you have planned for the evening)? I love the gumbo there, and I can't imagine gong to DLR and not having it at least once.

The food there is great! Anyone interested?:listen: :flower3:

Although I do enjoy the food there. I plan to eat at French Market that night. Sorry. I have to cut costs somewhere.

I love our lanyard (again!) - a big THANKS to Callie and her DH.:flower3:

I have to order my shirt, too. I am so afraid of it being too small around my "chesticles", too. :sad2: January, I think you will be swimming in a 2X, Good Lord, you look much smaller than I and I wear a 1X!

I am having a hard time deciding what style and size to go with. I have a huge chesticle problem and don't want a repeat of the Hooter martini shirt this year.

Love the new pic!

Hello!!! I LOVE the lanyard design, now must go in search of my lanyard...where did I put that thing? I'll PM you, Callie once I find it.....if I find it...if not, what's $3!!!!!!

So, I am too lazy to hunt down the info about the T-shirts. I know it is the Tinkerbell design, but what day are we wearing them?

All right, many of you have reported quite gleefully that you have bought a tote. Is EVERYONE buying them? Are you guys decorating the purchased ones? I started working on mine last night, and since it was late, the applique didn't turn out 100% perfect, likely not even 75% perfect. Should I just buy one and give up on the one I am sewing. I don't want mine to be the loser one that no one wants. I think the idea is cute, but maybe it is over the top. So whaddya think?

Going to DL tomorrow for the day!!!

Amysue

I am buying a tote, but decorating it myself. So even though I lack creative skills, I am still gonna try.

Have fun tomorrow. I might run into you.

Hi ladies! I jsut got home from a busy day, and finally caught up with the chatter. I also wanted to pipe in and say thanks to CAllie for the great lanyards! So cute!

Good morning, ladies!!

I am sooo excited because I just purchased my airline ticket!:hyper: I am flying in at 11:25am on Thursday. I know that my flight makes a stop in Phoenix to pick up some passengers. Is there any chance that some of you Phoenix-area ladies will be on that flight?

Today we are celebrating my dad's 56th birthday. I got him a nice stack of lottery tickets. He loves those things. I personally think they are a waste of money. But hey, whatever floats his boat..

I hope to be on here later. I have huge project of Thomas Jefferson to do for my History course.

What are you all doing today?

Stacie and I will be flying in with you! There are two others joining us...(Dawn and her mom maybe?) Anyway, there will be a few of us. Stacie and I are planning on eating at Ariel's at 2pm, so we were planning on doing the super shuttle as soon as we can. We are not checking baggage, so that we can just get there! Hopefully, the flight won't be late, so that we can make it to lunch.

That is great! Is there anyway I can get in on the Super Shuttle with you all? Are you or have you made a reservation? Or is just get it when you get there kind of thing? I am not checking baggage either. I am taking my carryon and my backpack.

I am also on the Ariel's list. The airport is not that far from Disney. I don't think it should take too long. We will probably make it just in time.:thumbsup2

I think we'll be fine for time. Tina and her mom get in around noon so we can wait for them as well. I just need to know who the other 2 people were that said they were on the same flight... I would hate to have to go back through all of our posts to find them, and they might be on the old thread!!! Whoever you are, please let me know!!!

I can do the reservation, it's $8/person one way, plus whatever you want to do as a tip ($1??), as a pre-paid reservation then you can pay me when we get there! So cool we'll be on the same flight!!!

Stacie will be along with all the info...I'm still a DLR virgin, and so don't know for sure. I think it's just a get there and do it kind of thing. I'm sure there's still room and time. I can't wait to meet you! :wave2:

OK Ladies question!

I am doing my final budget for the trip, and am wondering if it wouldn't be prudent to get vouchers from Getawaytoday for the Character meals. It appears to be a little cheaper, I wouldn't have to worry about having exact change, and it would be prepaid.

What are the downfalls to this? I think I heard rumbling aobut sharing a table with an person with an AP, and I being able to get a discount. Would the AP discount be better than the voucher discount?

Thanks for helping this newbie!!!

I am really excited! Stacie---I can pay you now or later. Whatever you are comfortable with.:thumbsup2

This is sooo awesome! I should save you guys seats since I will already be on the plane. I am sure the other passengers don't mind if I hold about 1 or 2 rows.:rotfl:

Hmm...I am not sure. I have thought about this too since this will be the first time I am going without an AP in years...so I am looking to save money.

I will wait to see what the others have to say about this.

I searched for it, and it didn't take long at all... I just never know if the searches on here will work like I want them to. Anyways, it's Dawn and her mom that will also be on the same flight. So we have me, Heather, Tina, Tina's mom, Dawn, Dawn's mom, and Janaury. The vans will take up to 7 people, which is what we have. The Exclusive Van Service will take up to 9 people for a flat rate of $67 (plus tip). So regular van costs $9 (including tip) for up to 7; exclusive van would cost about $9.50 each for 8 people (including tip) and $8.50 each for 9 people (including tip). So if there are any others coming into John Wayne/Orange County/SNA airport between 11:30am and noon on Thursday, March 5, SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!! I have time before I have to make the reservation, and there shouldn't be any problem with the van being available, since we already have 7, which is the max for individual reservations.

One question, do you all think $1 is enough? It's only 10%, maybe we should do $1.50 which is 15%... And we don't have to do the tip on the pre-paid reservation. We could just each give the driver whatever we want when we get there. Another detail to decide... When does it stop!!!!

Morning ladies!

Ty slept in to the much more reasonable hour of 7 am this morning, so I am just sitting here with my monster size Eeyore coffee mug (I think it holds 3 cups) and catching up on the thread while he eats his pancakes.

I relooked at my ticker, and indeed it is 6 weeks until we go, but I think that the time will go quickly... Next Sunday Amy, Beth and I are meeting up for lunch again, and then I have to go to St. Louis over Valentine's Day weekend to accompany a group of students to a Greek leaders conference. I'm not super excited about going as it's hard to leave my boys behind sometimes and I have been to this conference about 10 times in the past. And, I am sure that my two grad assistants could handle it. But, a professional staff member must go along for liability purposes, and since my new coordinator does not start until the day the conference starts (great timing, I know!), I am obligated to attend.

Anyhow, I am so excited to see everybody posting their travel plans. How fun that so many of you will be getting to the airport right about the same time!

The Vegas girls (Amy, Beth and me) should also be getting to the hotel/parks around the same time as you or maybe an hour or two earlier depending on how often we stop. The plan is for us to be leaving town via I-15 by 7am. If we don't stop at all, that would get us there around 11:15ish. But, since we don't have to be at Ariel's until 2, we may allow for a potty break or two :rotfl:. I'm a camel and my car gets good gas mileage, so I can make the trip with no stopping, which we used to do in the pre-Ty days. However, I would expect that we'll arrive sometime around noon to 12:30 once you factor in a Starbucks stop and the subsequent stops that typically causes!:lmao:

I am happy with $1.50 for the tip. :thumbsup2

Hmm...I am not sure. I have thought about this too since this will be the first time I am going without an AP in years...so I am looking to save money.

I will wait to see what the others have to say about this.

I have a PAP and I am willing to share my discount with as many people as Disney will let me! I think that from what I heard that means that everyone eating at Ariel's will be entitled to my 15% discount, as will the people sitting with me at Carnation Cafe. But, I highly doubt that they will give 30+ people my discount at Storyteller's.

From what I have seen from getawaytoday, the key to making the vouchers worthwhile is ordering in bulk due to the $10 processing fee. When I ran the numbers on ordering the vouchers ahead of time for my family's Christmas trip it worked out to costing slightly more for me to buy 4 vouchers from GAT than to use my AP discount at GK and M&F for breakfast based on the current price that day.

Oh, and I can't remember who made our Ariel's reservation, but do you know if we have indoor or outdoor seating? I know that they charge more for one than the other (i think it's indoor that costs more).

This is going to be a very strange trip for me as I never use cash in the parks--I always pay for everything using my Disney Visa and carry maybe $20 for OVC and other small purchases. Luckily my bank WAMU became part of Chase a few months ago and I can hit the ATMs through the trip so I don't have to too much cash on me at any point in time!:cheer2:

I love Jazz kitchen, too. I'd be willing to do the Jazz Kitchen Express, if you're interested in that. With me losing my job, it will be tight for the trip for. I agree about the Gumbo.

DD woke me at 7am too...she doesn't realize that I desperately need my beauty sleep.:rotfl:I guess it is better than the 3am wake up call I used to get when she was a baby.

It is cool that many of the ladies live near one another. I must say I am a little jealous..I am all alone here in Idaho. The closest ladies are in Spokane. And that is still quite a bit away.

I do feel so lucky to be able to travel part of the way with some Phoenix gals!:cool1:

Depends on what the price is. On GT it says Ariel's is $38, on the DL website it only says $30+. On GT, Storyteller's says $36, on the DL website it says $20-30.

The Premium AP discount is 15%. Using the numbers on GT, it's about an 11% discount... If someone has a Premium AP, will they give everyone the discount?

I think it was QueenBillabong (I cannot remember her real name--sorry) who made the ressie.

I am doing the envelope-system for spending money. I will have a different envelope for each day and that way I don't overspend. Which is very easy for me to do.
