Is anyone else feeling sick? I mean like cold, stuffy, headache sick. My voice is half gone, and I know Heather (LittleBlackRaincloud) was feeling really bad when we landed last night. Her voice was gone for most of the afternoon and her throat has the white gunk on it, and she felt feverish (I know, I'm a mom, I felt her forehead; don't need any doctor to tell me that!). I think the oldness is catching up with me. I can't even imagine what I will feel like if I'm still doing this in 10 years!!! I think some of us may need an ECV!!!

Well now Callie I don't think you need admission to actually do the race...could be a non-park trip. :)

I don't think you all are making it over to the WISH thread, so I'm reposting my invite here as well...

So who wants to go back to Disneyland with me this Labor Day weekend?

I would like to invite all of you to join me for the Disneyland 5k and 1/2 marathon http://www.disneylandhalfmarathon.com taking place Labor Day weekend Friday, September 4 - Sunday, September 6, 2009.

I know all of you can at least walk 5k as we did that many times over this past weekend! And nothing like having a goal (fun goal no less!) to keep you motivated and on track. So go to the website and register! Cost is $40 for the 5k and $120 for the 1/2 marathon. And yes, you can walk these events.

I'm going. Beth's coming. NOW WHO'S COMING WITH US??
Capri? I know you have an exercise buddy up there in Spokane. :cheer2:
Amy? :woohoo:
Wendy?
EVERYONE!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Come on ladies! You already completed the Scavenger Hunt Walkathon...this will be a piece of cake!!

And now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything.
Scott Reed

For motivation, come (or come back!) and visit the DIS divas on the WISH boards! :woohoo:

This sounds like it would be fun to do. :sunny:

Oh no! Not what I want to hear about my roomies! I hope Heather is ok. She hasn't posted since she got back. I'm actually feeling better than I did, just a really sore lower back. Guess I better go take some airborne or emergen-C.

Well now Callie I don't think you need admission to actually do the race...could be a non-park trip. :)

Non-park trip? Whaa? :confused3
;)

Hmmm .. this does sound tempting. When do we have to register? (or should I say .. what's the last day I can decide?)

I know, crazy thought, not even sure I could do it. But it's a thought. And you'd get to be IN the parks for the walk/run part (I assume), which could tide a person over in some small way...right? :upsidedow

OK nevermind it's an awful idea!

Magicale is what I remember from listening to you guys.

I see "Sorry we missed you!

DisneyShopping.com is temporarily closed while we
make improvements to the site, but please
come back and try again soon."

They take a sad, boggy website and create an event that will create massive numbers of people, and don't shore up the website so it can handle the extra traffic. What is WRONG with the disney IT people????

I went to lunch and to order the cake for the bridal shower this weekend and when I got back I was able to order . . . so it's all good. But this is a recurring theme with the IT troubles--it's kinda scary--they've instituted online check-in for the WDW resorts--including DVC--and a lot of people are askeered to use it fearing it would end up cancelling their reservations instead!

No AP, no 5K for me. :( Unfortunately, I think I'm done with DLR until 2012.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Let's have a pool on whether she makes it to 2012.

I wish I could come for this, but I think my hubby would put his foot down on this one. Not only because I went on the ladies trip, but we're going down in October, so I won't be able to afford the extra airfare/hotel/food expense this year.....unless something really great happens to us finacially. Doesn't hurt to keep hoping.....I'll come for sure if that happens.:wizard:
It's the airfare that gets ya. It is nice being close enough to drive. And with Amy at the wheel it only takes 3 hours! :rotfl:

I've never done a 5k before. In fact, I had to Google it to see how long that is! :rolleyes1 I will definitely be walking, but I'm hoping it will give me the extra push I need to get on with losing the next 50 pounds. lol

Oh, and I still plan to be there Oct. 23-25 for my b-day. Gotta get that GC!

She won't. ;)

I doubt I could do the 5K but will plan to spend some time with my DisFriends that weekend!

She won't. ;)

I made a reservation at Hojo yesterday for that weekend to celebrate your b-day with you!

(and I also made a reservation today for this "23' convention thingie--don't know what it is but I figured better make it now while there's an Ent. Rate.)

Tempting.

DO IT!

I wish I could come for this, but I think my hubby would put his foot down on this one. Come on! Tell your hubby he can earn some golf points to save up for a guys weekend. I think this is just what you need to motivate you!

Seriously tempting.

As Nike says...Just do it!

Well now Callie I don't think you need admission to actually do the race...could be a non-park trip. :)

I think you can get some special package with a discount ticket. Or just break down and get the AP. Boyfriend's waiting for your return, Callie.

This sounds like it would be fun to do. :sunny:

Do it!

Hmmm .. this does sound tempting. When do we have to register? (or should I say .. what's the last day I can decide?)

I think registration is open until the races fill. As I remember, the half marathon fills before the 5k. I can keep you all posted as it gets close to registration. Just need to get planning far enough in advance if you're planning to tackle that half marathon. No time like the present to start training. :woohoo:

I see there's some interest here. Come on! Jump in the deep end!
It's gonna be fun!!! :cool1:

Just wanted to let everyone know we got home ok. Heather and I got back to our home town about 11pm last night. I am not really sore at all so I think I may have to start walking more to keep up my momentum so to speak! Hope everyone else made it home alright!

A 5k isn't so bad. I did it about 2-3 years ago with my church for breast cancer. It all depends on what's the inclination. Disneyland has it's small inclines but DCA is pretty much flat all around. I might be interested in doing it but what scares me is the crowds :scared1: Because I know after the 5k I will want to do some rides and it will be packed!

Today is kicking my butt as I try to recuperate from the trip! I definitely need to start working a recovery day into my vacay requests, as I now need a vacation from my vacation!:rotfl:

My family will be in DLR from Sept. 4th-9th to celebrate Ty's 2nd birthday. There's no way that I could do the half marathon, but I could definitely be talked into walking the 5k with a group of Dis friends!!!

Oh, and to all who have liked the CD, you are welcome! I had so much fun putting it together and mixing some of the songs that all of you suggested with some of my favorite Disney songs that seemed appropriate given the occasion of meeting old and new friends for the first time. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I do!

I am still so very tired. My eyes want to shut. I am grading so at least it is not taking too much of my energy...the answer key makes it easy for me.:thumbsup2

I left my new Disneyland hoodie in the hotel room..:guilty: I need to call and find out if it was turned into lost and found.

I am so ready for another trip! I miss you all!

Tina=-----I loved the Billy show! I am glad I had my first experience with you and your mom (who is so nice, BTW!).:cool1:
January, I'm glad you were there with us!

Hi Ladies - Alright so I don't know any of you but I WOULD HAVE LOVED to go on the trip this year - so my hope is that you will plan another next year and that I can swing going with getting time off work and all those fun scheduling conflicts!

Its been great reading about all your fun times and plans and friendships started and wow, I can't wait to go someday on a group trip with fellow DISers! :goodvibes Anyone female can go, right?
You gotta come! It was big fun!!!!

Hmmmm. I'd be more worried about falling asleep . . . . ummmmm. . . . later.
That was my initial thought!

Ok, I finally got some pics uploaded and wanted to post this one first, because it was truly an amazing moment for me on Sunday. Like I said, it happened at approximately 11:56 am, just before our Club 33 Brunch.

Sorry, Tina, but I think I had a slight camera malfunction, but I know you are so gracious with the sharing of our boyfriend, you won't mind a bit. ;)

So, without further ado . . . me and my     Isn't he just DREAMY??? :cloud9: :cloud9:

Real nice, friend!

Too bad. I guess I'll have the boyfriend all to myself!

I'm just feeling run down. I took Airborn this morning, and I'm feeling better. I just need to catch up on my sleep.

I've wanted to do the 1/2 Marathon for the last two years but I haven't wanted to do it by myself.

My aunt ran it the very first year.

I would love to run/walk it with you ladies but the only thing that gets me is that it's Labor Day weekend. DBF and I always go to Havasu... put me down as a maybe.:thumbsup2

Yes! I have a sore throat and can't stop sneezing!

Is there any way I can get a copy of the CD? I'll send you money for postage.:flower3:

I am back from the doctor's office and they used the smallest gauged needle but only after leaving a bruise on the right arm then poking around the left one for a few minutes. The bad news is that I am up to about 300 pounds because of soda pop. The worst news is that my knees hurt bad and I may not get a scooter which would curtail going to Disneyland.

I can do taste pilots for $10 and $3 in gasoline for a quick trip to the parks for a few hours. I cannot afford the ECV rental. Thus I would love to do meetings but no .005K walks let alone 5K walks.

I got my receipt for 23 thing and now am going to go exploriing. I would have loved to have met the celloist from Billy Hill group as I used to see him at Magic Mountain when he was with the Oakwood group, was that the name, and he is one of the earliest members of the Billy Hill group. The mandolin playing older guy was one of the longest there. memories, lol

If you ant me for park research or meetings or what ever email me or pm me. So now to figure how to loose 50 pounds when I eat patted down fried meat, nuked hot dogs, low sodium taters or rice, and veggies for dinner. The knees are so bad right now that I cannot do a trip to the store.

I had fun and did things I never did before. I now have few things I have not done recently and must do the maliboomer.

Hey all.....I htought I'd just pop on really quick. I am sooo miserable. I went to the doctor's this morning, and I have a very bad case of mono. I'm sooo sick.

I had a great time and wish I could talk with you all, but I feel like I've been run over by a truck. My neck/throat is so swollen, I can't talk.

Talk with you later! I really enjoyed meeting you all.

Jen you are such a cheerleader. You make me "want" to do the 5k. I am seriously thinking about it.
