LOL--just a few days late. At least you got yours--many of them were returned by the P.O. saying they needed additional postage!!!!! Grrrrrr.

Well my postman remedied that problem. He stole my sucker! There was a hole torn into the envelope. The card was there, the wrapper was there, the sucker was gone! I almost was gonna call you to have you send me another one. (joke from a thread on the community board).

Thanks for the card Cheryl. That was really sweet of you.

I am at school right now in between two exams. Just enough time to DIS a bit and relax.

Dawn - I had such a huge craving for Chinese food today! I hope you ate enough for the both of us.

Sarah, Heather and Jane - I hope you all get better really soon! :goodvibes

January - Those pics are so cute! :cutie:

Cheryl - For some reason, when I saw "prepared" I thought it said "panicked." I almost had a panic attack! :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a great day! I'm stressed tired and covered in hives. :sad2: I'm going to Disneyland this weekend though, so I'm OK not being OK. :thumbsup2

I almost didn't send it to you because I was afraid E would see it and want it--and I'm sure it has HFCS in it. I owe you those cents!!!! LOL We couldn't believe they sent them back--it probably cost more to return it to me than it did to just send them on . . . . .

I know, sending it back seems crazy!

That is so sweet of you to worry about Eamon, awwww. No worries though...the only thing he would ever do, once I told him it has corn syrup or HFCS in it, is chastise ME for eating it. I'm supposed to be following the same rules as he and hubby are, but I'm not very good on following through! What am I supposed to do, ya know? The people who live in this building (it's primarily a retirement condo building) keep putting M&Ms out in the lobby!!!! Now even hubby is getting on my case..."I could hear you eating them"..."no I was eating granola bar"..."I could hear something besides the granola bar, I know you were eating M&Ms"...augh.

Don't anyone comment if you see me eating a Mickey bar!!!! It's the ONLY chance I have to eat one!

It was missing??? Darn that post office!!!

And I totally know what thread you're talking about....

She would've sent a celery stalk ;)

Nah, she knows I eat junk.

Was that not one of the funniest threads? I dont' think I laughed that hard in a while.

Was that not one of the funniest threads? I dont' think I laughed that hard in a while.

The idea was amusing, but the problem is I think that CB people jump all over things too quickly, and sometimes I have a problem with that. I mean, when I posted about the post on mothering's forum, on the thread talking about "since when do people send CANDY in taped to v'day cards?????" I was not really on the side of the woman who called the Dis'er, but when I'm actually reading all those posts bashing the woman...I just get tired of it.

I still can't get over the idea that EVERYONE tapes boxes of candy to cards now! I wonder who started it? And who became the "99th monkey" that made it an absolute????

I was thinking of trying pin trading...thanks for the info Stacie. Is 25 too much for one trip though?

Thanks everyone!

No, 25 isn't too many, especially since we'll be there for 5 days!

Heather....

You can trade two pins with each cast member who is participating in trades.

I know that I always think i have enough pins when i go to trade but i always run out and want more.:rotfl:

Exactly! We traded at least 5 every day last time. I'm sure Wendy, Cheryl and Melody remember Allyson and I trying to see what pins the CMs had on!!

January - such cute pictures! I remember when mine were little like that... seems like so long ago :sad1: I guess I have grandkids to look forward to :yay: , hopefully that won't be anytime soon though!!

Some of those threads get bad quick. I post what I have to say, and will keep up with the thread till it turns. Then I leave.

And I have no idea that people taped boxes of candy to cards. DD just took a huge bag of dum dums to pass out to her friends. I don't think I even taped candy to a card for her. I just found it funny that she would call and ask it to be sent that following Tuesday. Something like that would never occur to me. But if Cheryl is reading this, I will be happy to get another sucker. jk.

Beth if you need a red a shirt I have a cute polo from Old Navy, I could bring.
If you do, just let me know & I will PM you the size to see if it fit.
Aww, that is so sweet of you to offer. I have an old one that is a 3X. I need to see if that will work. I haven't tried it on in awhile so we'll see.

I just bought mine on Feb 6th, so I would think they would still be selling them. They were in the women plus size area.
Of course they don't have anything like that in my Walmart. I still cannot find a plain white tee.

Hey all. Sorry I haven't been on in a while but I have strep throat and have been feeling awful! Also, Heather (lilycat) has pancreitis so we have both been out of it. Sarah
Ugh, that sucks. Feel better!! :grouphug:

I am fighting a nasty cold--I think I got the plague in St. Louis.
I've been fighting a cold too. The other night I fell asleep around 9:30, I never do that!! Feel better.

Beth: I hope you're enjoying your time with you family--let us know how Adam did on his first day back to school since the surgery!
Thanks for asking. He did ok. Took it easy.
I'm enjoying my family visiting. They leave tomorrow. I'm so tired. I love my Grandparents but they are hard to show around because they are worse then kids.......so slow and into everything!!! :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a great day! I'm stressed tired and covered in hives. :sad2: I'm going to Disneyland this weekend though, so I'm OK not being OK. :thumbsup2
I hope Disney makes it all better for you.

Wow, how totally fun for you guys!!!:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

My hubby happens to like DL better than WDW. He likes that DL packs so much in a smaller area.....easier to get around and get multiple rides in, the rides are closer together in the parks so not as much walking, and you're not wasting so much time waiting for busses and riding them. I actually like DL better too, and so does our 5 year old (Luke). Ryan, our nine year old, says he likes them both the same......he says that about everything though. He never commits to liking something better than something else.

I do love Rock-n-Rollercoaster though.....and Expedition Everest.....and Test Track.....and watching the gorillas and tigers at the Animal Kingdom.:goodvibes

The next time we fly all the way to Orlando, we're going to go to Universal/IOA. I know our boys will love it. It has all their favorite shows and superheros. We're waiting until the new Harry Potter addition is done before making the trip. :thumbsup2

DL would be perfect if it had the Grand Marnier slushie . . . . . .

Cheryl - For some reason, when I saw "prepared" I thought it said "panicked." I almost had a panic attack! :rotfl:

Prepared . . . . panicked . . . . it's all the same, right? :rotfl2: You KNOW I wouldn't get into anything that would sap your physical, mental and emotional strength, would I?

I know, sending it back seems crazy!

Actually, I was craving a Mickey bar today. My only problem with them (well, other than the bazillion calories) is that they're a little bit too big and I can't finish a whole one (usually). I want to know what thread you're talking about.

Nah, she knows I eat junk.

Hello?????? Linkie???????

But if Cheryl is reading this, I will be happy to get another sucker. jk.

I have extra suckers--so will make sure you get one--it has a Disney D on it and everything--and to everyone else if you didn't get a valentine from me it's because I either didn't have your address or our wonderful post office mis-directed it. I can't believe that someone stole it out of the envelope!! The nerve!

Ok, so my latest thing to overextend myself is that a friend of mine got married on Christmas Eve to this totally controlling guy--she couldn't even plan a wedding--basically he told her when, where and then on the day of she wanted to change clothes and he was like, "nah, those slacks are fine." so, no wedding, no party, no dress, no nothing. No guests--just a couple of witnesses.

So, I want to do something nice for HER (he can jump in a lake for all I care) so I am giving her an "after-the-fact" Bridal shower. Is that too weird? No boys allowed. We did (with the help of another friend of hers who works for him) get him to buy into the idea and let us plan this without him having a hissy fit that he won't have her to himself all day on a Sat.

so, I'm thinking 1 p.m. -ish--lots of appies and wine, and maybe a casserole/salad type buffet? and a cake of course. I'm thinking of getting a mini wedding cake. About 18 people. She of course hasn't registered anywhere (and has been living with him a few years) so I have no idea what to tell people to get her.

Ideas anyone? I think I'm doing this the weekend after the ladies trip.

Hi ladies!
I'm just checking in before bed. I am already exhausted. We've been out on the Strip today. Again, it's fun, but keeping track of everyone is tiring. lol

I wanted to say this is the last call for cell phone numbers. If you want to be on the list and receive a list, send it to me now.
Tomorrow evening is the deadline. Then I will send out a PM to all those who signed up and ask everyone to double check their number and make sure it's correct before sending it to January to print out.

OK, talk to y'all sometime tomorrow. I have a dentist appt at 10:30 for 3 fillings. Ick.

Night!!!

I love my Grandparents but they are hard to show around because they are worse then kids.......so slow and into everything!!! :rotfl:

I know what you mean. My Mom will start to do something and I hate to see her struggle so I will try to help--but she wants to do it HERSELF, darn it! so you stand there and watch and wait. We've had a couple of tiffs about that because she gets mad and I get frustrated. and have you noticed that as they get older they become much more bold about asking questions? Nothing is off limits! :lmao:

Cheryl, the thread was by a woman with kids in elementary school. She, going along with what it seems you're supposed to do now, taped a box of Nerds (or something like that) to each Valentine her kid took in. Later, she got a call from another mom, who found a card from the Dis'ers child with tape on it with her child's other Valentines, but NO box of candy, and the woman asked if the Dis'er could send in another box of candy for her child.

:rolleyes1 :headache:

So many questions...maybe the woman just wanted the diser to know that there was no candy, maybe the diser thought there was a request when there wasn't. Or maybe the woman just wanted her kid to have what the kid was supposed to have but didn't know what...or maybe she was really poor and couldn't afford to replace it....or maybe the woman was just crazy, LOL.

I left it after awhile (never joined in b/c that wasn't done when I was a kid, it wouldn't be done if DS were going to school, and I don't plan on him going to school, so I had nothing to add) but it was just weird on all sides.

Nice sheets she wouldn't normally buy? Super nice plush towels? Does she like to cook? How about a Wustoff knife, or a nice cast iron dutch oven? A wine rack? Does she like to garden? How about some garden art or a nice potted plant arrangement?

I think that is a great idea. I love the appies and wine idea. Maybe hearty appies and no buffet. Definately cake. Make it a gift card party. No need to register, just bring a gift card. Especially if she had been living with him, she may not need anything.

Good morning ladies!!

I have not had a chance to read back. I will try to do that today during my break. It is finally getting up to the high 40's-low 50's here in Boise.. I am totally excited that it is starting to feel like Spring.

Who is going to still be at DL on Monday? My flight doesn't leave until 5:30pm-ish. So, I will still be lingering until about 1-2pm.

Have a great day everyone!! Beth----good luck at the dentist!
