I was wondering how that movie was, Wendy! Isn't it called something like..I love you, Man?

We finally saw Pineapple Express:rotfl2: Bad, but funnY!

Yes, that's what it's called! I knew it had either "man" or "yes" in the title. :rotfl2:

Pineapple Express was a funny movie too!

Not everyone will be staying at the HOJO's so the pj theme might not work?:confused3 I don't know how HOJO's would feel about having 35 women in their pjs in the lobby.

Hmmm, I've never heard of Harper's Island. :confused3 What station is it on? I love me some eye candy. :3dglasses
It's a murder mystery event. Each week someone new gets killed off and you don't know who, how or who's doing it. Sort of an Agatha Christie type of thing. You can also guess online who you think the next victim will be. Last night was the first episode but you can watch it online.

This is C.J. Thomason who plays Jimmy, a fisherman on the island. He's a total cutie!!! http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3176303360/nm0859702

The shots from around the island and harbor are so pretty. That caught my attention more than anything else actually.

I'm totally interested. I LOVE  planning events and since I'll be at CSUF, I'll be local. I plan to choose my Spring 2010 schedule to accommodate this trip. So I'll be looking for only TTH classes that end early in the afternoon :thumbsup2:rotfl:
OK! It won't be too hard for you with your schooling?
So then we have you and me so far. :thumbsup2

I don't mind using the Mardi Gras decorations again since I never saw them to begin with . But seriously, I'm down for saving money :thumbsup2.

I also like the Hawaiin and Slumber Party themes, but if we do the slumber party theme, I'll have to buy some new PJ's to wear. I usually just wear sweats and a Tee to bed.
Well, I'm down for saving money too, but I really think we need a new fun theme. I'll even be willing to pick up some of them at my own expense. Especially if we end up doing the luau theme, that one is sooooo easy to find stuff for. Luau or Hawaiian themed stuff is everywhere, even at the dollar stores. :thumbsup2

So, do you want to be part of the committee then? :yay:

Oh, about the theme, almost any theme is ok for me :lmao:
:rotfl2:

Ladies I have risen from the dead and am back on the board. I was sorry not to make it to the girls trip this time around but my year had a bad case of the downers. With my dad passing, helping mom out, hubby turning 40 and day before getting laid off pushing him into a major depression...it had been ROUGH!!! I have been in a world of survival that I hope no one has to share.......

The good news is hubby found a new job, medication is helping his mindset but best of all I get to celebrate Mothers Day AND my moms 75th at DL!!!:cheer2:

We are SO in need of this trip and I am so excited I had to share with you all. I knew you would celebrate with me! It would take me a zillion days to read what all has been happening in your lives but I will try to jump aboard your current train and dive in if you will have me back. :confused3

Amy:flower3:
Welcome back! I'm sorry you had a sucky year, but it looks like things are looking up for you:thumbsup2

Nachos with all the fixin's gets my vote. Don't forget the jalapenos!!:yay:
Super yummy and super cheap and easy! Seems like that might fit in with this group perfectly;)

I have totally not had a chance to catch up, so I know that I've missed alot of important info and I'm sorry.

Had a GREAT time with Kelly and her family at DLR on Wednesday. Zoe and I went up there, got there later than we wanted to, but still spent the bulk of the day with them and got to celebrate DD's bday with them. The girls got along so very well. Love Kelly's DH (in a Dis friend kind of way, don't be getting cheeky, you guys!). He is a fast pass crazy person! Loves the rides, and was thrilled to see how happy the girls were doing. Unfortunately, they had to deal with some major drama with Lynn while they were there, but I'll let Kelly fill you in about that. Missed Stacielee, Cheryl, and MaryJo at ESPN Zone, but was doing Goofy's at the same time!

I'm not to terribly concerned about the theme for next year, though we have all of the decorations from Mardi Gras, might be nice to use them again. (At least I think Stacie still has them.) We could cut the cost even more, then. We wouldn't have to do pizza again, we could do just about any food we wanted to. And, I humbly suggest that the party would be best planned by locals or at least mostly locals. Maybe I'm wrong, but I know it would be challenging to have to order stuff to be delivered here, know what the restaurants and stores are here, etc. Not saying it needs to be any of us who were doing it this year, (though I'd be willing to work on it again) but people who are relatively local.

I'd actually like to volunteer to work with the scavenger hunt next time, if they'll have me.

Vegas was great. I've been a zombie, but a crazy busy one. Now the kids are home for spring break and I'm trying to keep them occupied, juggle appt and sports and scouts and get ready for Easter. We're decorating eggs today with some of the neighbor kids. Going to my Dad's on Sunday.
I've been thinking about you all lately! Big hugs to everyone!
Sounds like you have been having some fun!

Here's a picture from Wednesday with my son:

Nice pic!

I am out here in the 'burbs in Simi Valley...it's very quiet out here especially after moving from Denver where I lived near downtown!

I'll be in your part of the world tomorrow along with a gazillion other happy Disney people! :eek:Crazy I know but that is coming from a family that has gone to DL the past two NYE. Now that is CRAZY and I swore we are not doing NYE there this year! I am hoping tomorrow will be manageable since we will have a 14 yo who lives in Seattle with us and who doesn't get to DL as often as we do. Does anyone know what it's like Easter weekend??
:crowded::crowded::crowded::crowded: But you'll have a fun time, anyway. Get there early and collect fast passes!

Hey Hey all!

Mom left this morning, and I'm beyond worn out. :faint: We had a nice visit, but tiring. Nathan picked up one of her sayings, and so now gets this excited face and says "goody goody goody' everytime he gets excited. It's so cute! We went and had pictures taken. That was fun. :sad2: It was like wrangling an octopus and snail into position sometimes.

33urgno.jpg

Oh, and Nathan hoards things he likes, and has a total meltdown if you take his 'special items' away. He clutched to those fake chicks for his life. It was fun having to leave them! :scared1:

I love the party ideas! It will be hard to pick one. I'm hoping to talk my Mom into joining us in October. I think she would have a blast. She's a teacher though, so she'd have to take time off.

I'll write more later.

Stacie, cute picture with you son! I think it sounds like he had a great birthday!

Cute pic of the boys and grandma! That would be nice to have her along on the next trip!

I've been cleaning my house all morning, prepping for Easter. Luckily, I only have to take care of the meat (BBQ tri tip and chicken), fruit salad, and Jello salad. Everybody else is bringing something. At last count we had about 40 people coming. I am seriously praying for sun!!!!!!

Oh come on Dawn! You don't wanna walk clear across DTD and down Harbor to the HoJo in your jammies? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

On a side note, it's amazing to me how many people I see out running errands in their pajama bottoms and a tee. Not that it bothers me, I couldn't care less.
And I know there have been many, many threads on the WDW boards about the horrors of wearing your pjs down to the food courts at the resorts. People get so mad about it. I just read and laugh. popcorn:: :rotfl:

Sounds good, I'll have to look into it. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the eye candy. :3dglasses

There's a lot of that around here too. I could also give a care less, why should it bother me if someone else wants to wear their pjs in public. :confused3 I wouldn't do it, but to each their own.

No, it shouldn't be too hard. Unless I get a job during that time, but I always manage to scrape by with time.

Did anyone watch that Harper's Island show last night? It was on at 10:00.

I forgot it was on....and I was doing homework...

Anyway, the show was just so-so in my opinion, but OMG I fell in love with the scenery!!!!!

I found out it's filmed at Bowen Island 12 miles NW of Vancouver and 20 minutes by ferry from Horseshoe Bay. I so want to go there now. What a pretty place. At least the parts they showed.

There was some interesting eye candy on the show too. The fisherman was pretty hot. ;)

Eye candy is always good!!

Easter for us is my daughter and her family, my son and my parents coming to our home. DH will grill all kinds of meats and we will have easy sides. I'm planning on us spending the day out by the pool, it's still too windy for swimming.:guilty:
Normally we do a big spiral honey ham with all the trimmings but this year we said let's bbq!

I so need to move closer!!

Hmmm, I've never heard of Harper's Island. :confused3 What station is it on? I love me some eye candy. :3dglasses

My friend took me to the movies last night. We saw the movie where a guy needs to find a best man for his wedding. Totally don't know the name of the movie, but it was freakin hilarious! Almost made me forget what a jerk my friend is. :rotfl:

I want to see that movie!

I was wondering how that movie was, Wendy! Isn't it called something like..I love you, Man?

We finally saw Pineapple Express:rotfl2: Bad, but funnY!

:rotfl2:

I am so glad I can watch it online. I will do that tonight.

No problem! All those are just ideas in the very beginning stages. We can vote on a theme and then run with it. And you are right, we don't want anyone excluded. :thumbsup2

I say get some ideas, put it to a vote to narrow it down. The have another vote of like the top 3. Then once the theme is picked, everything else will fall into place.

Do we have any volunteers to oversee the Meet and Greet?

I'd love to help with it so count me in as one, but since I'm not local I will be limited on what I can do. But I will certainly bring things, and help buy things over the next 10 months.

So we need about 3 more to help out. Someone who has the time to devote to the planning as it gets closer, someone who will be there that night (no virtual meets, lol), and one or two who are local would be nice if possible, but not necessary I suppose.

Anyway, think it over. If interested, post here or PM me. :)

Well, since Dawn sent me such a nice PM....I will volunteer to chair the meet and greet.

Same here. I didn't share a bed, but I didn't want to freak poor Melody out and have her discover why my mickname is Yetti. :rolleyes1

...off to catch up on the other pages...

:rotfl2:

LOL
Well, last time it was Cheryl, Stacie and Michelle. Two of them have gone over to the scavenger hunt planning team, so that only leaves Stacie, and I'm not sure she's willing to do it again. (Are ya Stacie?)

Even if she is, we'd still need at least two more to help out. :) Unless there were volunteers already that I somehow missed.

:rotfl2:

Yes, I am! :thumbsup2

What's everyone doing for Easter? I was going to cook, but my cousin suggested going out instead so we're going to the Chart House in Dana Point. I hope it's not a zoo--I hate going places on holidays like that--I'd rather cook--it's actually less stressful for me. Plus I enjoy planning the menu, etc.

We are going to Bucca di Beppo for dinner. My mom, my adpotive sis, and I will catch a movie and do some shopping before hand. We sent my father, brother, nephews and my DD camping. They leave tonight.

I tivo'd it, but haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Thug life!

It probably won't be the strangest outfit on Harbor that's for sure.

So much for my quoting skills.

I love that picture and what a grandmother. There are worse things that the kids could be saying like one mom on disAbilities had a kid in full meltdown screaming "bok choy" because he wanted that for dinner.

Theme does not matter but luau and slumber are best for me as far as costuming goes. Right now I am going back to bed as 5 hours was not enough for some reason. I sleep days because of mom.

Let me guess, Dawn bribed you right? :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: Cool! So it's you, me, Cristabel and Katie so far. That might be enough. Maybe one more. Don't want too many cooks in the kitchen. ;)

So far we only have 4 themes. lol If anyone has any other ideas feel free to post them.

Raincloud, I just found something I had written down before my absence, when we were talking about the water game things? The day we were talking about it, or the next, we went for a walk and ended up at the downtown toy store, where they had a full sized water toy. The brand is Tomy, and they are called "waterfuls". The one they had was a pirate theme, the website intplay dot com was on the bottom. Just in case you wanted to look further into it...probably better for the littles than the Oriental Trading Company ones. :)

The duplicate pages usually show up where there is a countersignature by Disney--sign both and send back. Of course, I do make copies before sending--but when you sign on-site they give you your copies back immediately.

Molly--you don't have that form because it's a California requirement to be able to record the VGC deed--it tells the assessor what the "value" of the interest is for property tax purposes. They apparently don't have a similar doc in Florida.

I realized last night I forgot emoticons...I was going for "funny exasperated" but might have come across as "truly annoyed". Whoops!

Interesting about the duplicates! Our guide didn't tell me WHY they had the dupe pages...but he did tell me that he was supposed to tell me to sign it all, but he forgot, whoops. No biggie, they were signed and in the mail and received very quickly, and all was well.

Cheryl you haven't yet told me what the total, after the ent rate refund, is for my March stay. Tell me, tell me!

Sorry I moved over to the scavvy hunt team--I just felt like it was too hard on the ECV to maneuver with my team and didn't want to slow people down. So I thought I'd be better off on the planning team next year.

I'm sure you will be an absolute asset to that team, but FWIW, I don't think you slowed us down at all. And you were great on the team. And I'm a little scared of the questions you might come up with. :scared:

I'm all caught up but it took so long I forgot what I wanted to reply back to.
:sad2: :rotfl:

Ya gotta hit that little quote-mark button to the right of the "QUOTE" button on the bottom right of each reply! That way you at least have an idea of who you wanted to reply to, even if you've forgotten *what* you wanted to say. :)

**********

MIL has her followup appointment to check her potassium levels today. Hopefully she'll bring up the questions I had and the hospital doc (the second one) had about her diabetes type. HOpefully she'll take the hospital doc's suggestion to at least get her blood sugar care over to an internist, if not an endocrinologist. It's worth an expert, not just someone who will diagnose based on bodytype!

She's also in the "thanking Molly" phase. I have been a disapointment to her in the past b/c I'm not a Korean daughter in law who calls every day to ask how she is. But ever since I all but washed my hands of her after an hour and a half long call to the IRS on her behalf, after giving her really bad news after that call, and then dealing with her going off on me b/c I don't call every day...I have remained behind the scenes. She needs someone to research something? I'm there. I looked over her life insurance application and found that the person helping her with it (our shared landlady/apartment complex manager) messed up b/c she doesn't know MIL's medical history, and was able to find out that if she had sent that in, and then if she had died of one of the illnesses she has but didn't mention on the form, all her premiums would have been wasted and no one would have gotten the benefit she wanted everyone to get. I'm there to talk medicalese with people. Etc etc etc.

So now she's thanking me, and she says the Korean family loves me, etc etc. And that's all great!

But she's not thanking Robert, who made the good decision to call 911 for her. She's not thanking him for sitting with her all day, and for calling me in when he was being scared by the words of the first hospital doc (the situation did not warrant her fear tactics...like I've said, she was playing "House, MD", and was wanting silly things even after the gastro doc said she could leave). She's not thanking her own daughter, who was scared by how her mom sounded, and knew to call Robert. She's not thanking her other son, who was very very sick on his own (not the same thing, they hadn't been arond each other for 3 weeks) and stayed far away to not get her sick, which was a good decision, but very difficult for the firstborn Korean son to do!

Her children don't need thanking, according to her, b/c they are *expected* to take care of her. But I, who did barely anything in my opinion, am getting over the top thanked. Which is better than being yelled at. But I wish she was thanking her children, too.

Well, I have to get us ready to go for a walk with liver-transplant-girl! Her sister will walk with Eamon and I will walk slowly with her. First time seeing her since before she left the hospital!

Western/Cowboy - everyone can wear bandanas or cowboy hats. Jeans and shirts. Boots if you want. (not the vegas kind Beth ;)).

Beach/Pool party - similar to the luau theme, but not as islandish. Similar to an old fashion BBQ

Christmas in Feb - can wear our funkiest Christmas/holiday sweaters/shirts. Play dirty santa. Sing carols and such.

That would be fun. It kind of reminds me of the Diary of Bridget Jones & Christmas, with the bad sweaters...:lmao:

OMG, shut up!
I was just thinking this!!! :lmao: :lmao: I was thinking, hey, it's after Christmas, we can get decorations dirt cheap. AND best of all, do a really fun (filled) stocking exchange!!! (I loved getting a stocking as a kid and miss that each year) Or an ornament exchange. LOL

[edited]

The beach one and luau one seem to similar to me though.

Fun, fun, fun. :goodvibes

Molly, thanks for the info about the water toy. I'll look into it. :goodvibes I think my older son would love it, and we are looking for toys that require him to use both arms at once. (All of his hording has his left arm very weak and he rarely uses it for play.)

I love the Christmas in Feb theme! We did tacky christmas sweater day at work, and it was a blast! One of our RT's had a pair of christmas parachute pants that he wore with his sweater. I still laugh about him in that get up. I think the funky sweaters would bring some cheer to us.

What fun!
