Good morning everyone, Happy Friday, Happy Good Friday, Happy Late Passover, Happy whatever you are celebrating (stole that one from you know who!)

You are all so funny and I am having a really hard time keeping up but I'm trying...I think it just takes getting into shape for keeping up just like my running program. :)

I'm easy (not that easy but you know what I mean :rotfl: or maybe I am might have to ask Mr. CA :rotfl:)....so back to the topic whatever is decided for the meet I will be happy with!

Morning Vicki! Where in CA are you again?

I'm also easy--it says so on all the bathroom walls!

Any "theme" is a-ok with me.

I have totally not had a chance to catch up, so I know that I've missed alot of important info and I'm sorry.

Had a GREAT time with Kelly and her family at DLR on Wednesday. Zoe and I went up there, got there later than we wanted to, but still spent the bulk of the day with them and got to celebrate DD's bday with them. The girls got along so very well. Love Kelly's DH (in a Dis friend kind of way, don't be getting cheeky, you guys!). He is a fast pass crazy person! Loves the rides, and was thrilled to see how happy the girls were doing. Unfortunately, they had to deal with some major drama with Lynn while they were there, but I'll let Kelly fill you in about that. Missed Stacielee, Cheryl, and MaryJo at ESPN Zone, but was doing Goofy's at the same time!

I'm not to terribly concerned about the theme for next year, though we have all of the decorations from Mardi Gras, might be nice to use them again. (At least I think Stacie still has them.) We could cut the cost even more, then. We wouldn't have to do pizza again, we could do just about any food we wanted to. And, I humbly suggest that the party would be best planned by locals or at least mostly locals. Maybe I'm wrong, but I know it would be challenging to have to order stuff to be delivered here, know what the restaurants and stores are here, etc. Not saying it needs to be any of us who were doing it this year, (though I'd be willing to work on it again) but people who are relatively local.

I'd actually like to volunteer to work with the scavenger hunt next time, if they'll have me.

Vegas was great. I've been a zombie, but a crazy busy one. Now the kids are home for spring break and I'm trying to keep them occupied, juggle appt and sports and scouts and get ready for Easter. We're decorating eggs today with some of the neighbor kids. Going to my Dad's on Sunday.
I've been thinking about you all lately! Big hugs to everyone!

Oh, and as far as hotels goes, I'm open. If we stay at Hojo's, I'd like one of the larger QQ2's, not the ones in building 2. I'd like to room with a larger group, too. Lots of fun!

Can I just say I am totally lost on this thread and where everyone is staying?

Linda--did you mean that you're coming the end of the month to my house too (you're welcome of course)?
Great...now I want to come!! I would just spend the day at DL by myself & make breakfast.....I make super yummy breakfast burrito's!!!!!!

We are all staying with you of course ;)

The talk is still staying at the Hojo next year for the meet. There are suites and a kids pirate suite, so talk is of a group staying together in those.

A long wknd slumber party! :cool1:

I'm also easy--it says so on all the bathroom walls!

Yeah, I heard that about you ;)

:cool2:

Hi Michelle!!

Morning Vicki! Where in CA are you again?

I am out here in the 'burbs in Simi Valley...it's very quiet out here especially after moving from Denver where I lived near downtown!

I'll be in your part of the world tomorrow along with a gazillion other happy Disney people! :eek:Crazy I know but that is coming from a family that has gone to DL the past two NYE. Now that is CRAZY and I swore we are not doing NYE there this year! I am hoping tomorrow will be manageable since we will have a 14 yo who lives in Seattle with us and who doesn't get to DL as often as we do. Does anyone know what it's like Easter weekend??

aahh..Great picture, Stacielee!:goodvibes I'm so glad that you and your son had a special trip for his graduation.

Michelle... Welcome back..we missed you:hug:...
Sure we would love to have you on the scavenger hunt team, with you we should have just the right amount!
{ Scavenger Hunt planners are WendyLouWho, Me, CheryL and MicheLLe }:yay:
I've already bought some things for the prizes:goodvibes

I haven't been to DL on Easter since I was a kid. Can't help you with that, sorry. It will be busy I sure. Plan to go early, use fast pass, and just go with the flow. I usually do brunch at one of the hotels for Easter, and that is usually packed. So I am sure it will be crowded.

I grew up in Simi. We moved there in '65. Nothing but open fields for us kids to play in and lots of orange and walnut groves. It was great. My dream is to move back there.

Let's do a Hawaiian pirate pajama party with nachos and margaritas! And I've got some good ideas for Mickey pedicures!
:rotfl2:

As for the things we might do on mixer night...

i would ask that we don't do the awards for {funniest this or nicest that} it can be hurtful is there are only a few awards given out and lots of girls..girls don't join this thread for exculsionary activities and somehow those kinda things always turn into that. No matter how good the intentions.:confused3
No problem! All those are just ideas in the very beginning stages. We can vote on a theme and then run with it. And you are right, we don't want anyone excluded. :thumbsup2

Hmmmm, really? "Any" theme you say? :rolleyes1

Awww, that's nice.

My in-laws live in Moorpark so we are out that way often.

Hi there! When Mr. CA aka DBF and family moved here they talk about it being just like that. They moved here around 1970. When I met him in FL and he told me where he lived I had never heard of it. There are not many orange or walnut groves now. It is a nice area - quiet, safe, love the surrounding hills, did I mention quiet?! :). We are only an hour from DL, 45min. to the beach and an hour from my second favorite place Santa Barbara. I hope your dream to move back here comes true someday soon!!

My DBF works in Palmdale and I've been there a couple of times. He has been working tons of hours so it feels like he lives there!!:sad2:

Hey Hey all!

Mom left this morning, and I'm beyond worn out. :faint: We had a nice visit, but tiring. Nathan picked up one of her sayings, and so now gets this excited face and says "goody goody goody' everytime he gets excited. It's so cute! We went and had pictures taken. That was fun. :sad2: It was like wrangling an octopus and snail into position sometimes.

Oh, and Nathan hoards things he likes, and has a total meltdown if you take his 'special items' away. He clutched to those fake chicks for his life. It was fun having to leave them! :scared1:

I love the party ideas! It will be hard to pick one. I'm hoping to talk my Mom into joining us in October. I think she would have a blast. She's a teacher though, so she'd have to take time off.

I'll write more later.

Stacie, cute picture with you son! I think it sounds like he had a great birthday!

Sounds good.

Do we have any volunteers to oversee the Meet and Greet?

I'd love to help with it so count me in as one, but since I'm not local I will be limited on what I can do. But I will certainly bring things, and help buy things over the next 10 months.

So we need about 3 more to help out. Someone who has the time to devote to the planning as it gets closer, someone who will be there that night (no virtual meets, lol), and one or two who are local would be nice if possible, but not necessary I suppose.

Anyway, think it over. If interested, post here or PM me. :)
