Hey now, I don't have that much cash. Just saying.
I think you need some more incentive to get the cash.

Well, I'm somehow still up. I made it through hangover day. :thumbsup2

Our very pretty but naughty dog, Sassy, was spayed today. Poor thing.....we had to give her some pain meds because she was whining and crying when she got home. Actually the vet didn't even give us any pain meds to give to her today. She did send home pain meds to give to her starting tomorrow, but none to give her today. :confused3

So we had to call the vet to tell her how much Sassy was crying and pacing around and we thought it was because she was in pain. The vet agreed that it sounded like Sassy was displaying behavior that would indicate being in pain, so she had Justin come back to the clinic to pick up some pain meds to give her today. Just seemed strange and it kinda irked me that the vet didn't send pain meds home for Sassy to take today in the first place. :headache:

Anyway, I just wanted to keep my eye on her a bit tonight to make sure she's okay.

I agree. If you can split an onsite room with several people then you can do it fairly cheaply. But my big thing is I need my own bed. So that won't work for me.
Plus my share of the room at HoJo last time was like 30-something bucks a night. That is pretty darn cheap and hard to beat.

This makes me wonder if you ever telling Ruben "SCOOT OVER!" :lmao:

Ours was even cheaper than 30 a night. :crowded: So I am fine with Hojo, family suite even. And unlike Beth, I don't have issues sharing my bed. ;)

Srsly where is the tag fairy when you need her!

HoJos does give us the ability to use our extra money on churros, popcorn, and other tasty treats!

Good Morning. It's almost Easter. Why does candy taste so much better when it's wrapped in Easter print?:confused3

I hadn't either but the samples were so good, I couldn't resist. I don't know exactly how they make it. Sometimes it's best to not know. :rotfl:

Hummus is yummy! It's just chick peas (garbanzo beans), tahini (sesame seed paste), lemon, garlic, and olive oil all pureed together. Sometimes they add funky stuff like red peppers or artichokes to make it more gourmet. It's all good. Amy is right - toasting the pita bread pieces is a great way to use for dipping! My DS loves this for a snack - just beware of garlic breath ;)

Sending Big Hugs to January:hug:

Hummus is so good!! My DH makes it once a week.. we have it for snacks..put some on a plate then drizzle olive oil over it.. and put some olives in a bowl.. yummy.. we just wrap the pita bread up in a kitchen towel then heat it in the microwave.. soft warm pita bread is so good with hummus. This and some wine mmmmmmmmmmmmm... Delicious!:thumbsup2

Ok I am going to try hummus. I have never had a chick pea, so I hope it is good. Wine makes everything better....so I will make sure I have a bottle for testing purposes.

So you all want to stay at the Grand Californian next year? We could look into the Disney Vacation Club, but I'm not sure that it's really the cheapest/best onsite option for us.

If 2010 point charts (not yet released) are like 2009 charts, then we're looking at 23 points a night for Sun-Thu and 40 points a night for Fri-Sat. (NOTE: Feb 25-28 is NOT the low point season) You can fit 4 people in a studio (but some people, like me, may want their own bed). I'm thinking we would probably need to rent points because, speaking for myself, my 100 point yearly allotment wouldn't cover one studio for these four days and my DH and kids would have a fit if I used up our points and saved nothing for the family. Basically, I think we'd need to rent points and we could get those points transferred to a member.

If you figure points rent for $10, then we're $1260/studio average for the four days (or $315/person for the four nights). And we'd need to come up with the money 7 months in advance to rent those points and lock in our vacation plans that early. That's a lot of money to come up with so far in advance. We also don't know if enough rooms would be available.

If I remember correctly, I think AP rates for Paradise Pier were at their lowest about $149 night (plus you've got to add on more for taxes and resort fees). And I think Disneyland Hotel rates were at their lowest about $179/night with APs (plus resort and taxes). We don't know that those rates will infact be available, but there's a decent chance. And those rooms are cancellable and people can change them on their own and they don't need to be purchased until much closer to the actual travel date (in fact they won't even be available to purchase until after Christmas).

I can volunteer to give the Disneyland hotels a call to ask more about group rates and what it means when a person has to put down their credit card (are they really responsible for all rooms? can't be) and conference facilities, etc. Might be another option...

Please jump in to correct my math or offer a different point of view if you have one!

That is strange. I hope Sassy is doing ok today.

This makes me wonder if you ever telling Ruben "SCOOT OVER!" :lmao:
Somtimes! I move a lot when I sleep. I just can't have someone near me. Especially someone that wasn't my husband. I'd be worried I'd end up kicking them or throwing my arm over them, so that worry alone would keep me up all night. lol

Good Morning. It's almost Easter. Why does candy taste so much better when it's wrapped in Easter print?:confused3
Good question.

My DS loves this for a snack - just beware of garlic breath ;)
Now you tell me. :rolleyes1

yummy.. we just wrap the pita bread up in a kitchen towel then heat it in the microwave.. soft warm pita bread is so good with hummus.
I'll try that. I do love the pita bread. They also had pita chips which Ruben preferred but they were too crunchy for my messed up teeth.

OMG, math so early in the morning??? :scared: ;)

Seriously, thanks for typing all that out. :flower3: I think for me that just confirms that I'll be booking at HoJo. :rotfl2:
And thanks for offering to call. That would be great. I don't think that one person is responsible for paying for the rooms, just for signing the contract.

When I called Candy Cane Inn for our very first trip, we could get a discounted group rate IF we had at least 14 rooms (I think that's what it was). One person had to make the reservation, give their cc number, and sign the contract.

The problem there was that if we dropped below the required amount of rooms, then they would not give us the group rate, and we'd be stuck paying what ever crazy rack rate they were charging at the time. And with all the changes/cancellations that can happen in a large group of ladies, that wasn't a chance we were willing to take. That's how we ended up at HoJo the first time.

I'm not saying that's how Disney does it. Each hotel is different. But certain clauses like that are what you really have to be clear on when you call. :)

Morning ladies!! So I guess they call Thursdays, Thirsty Thursday. Come to think of it, I could use a drink. Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

Grizzbuzz.. Thanks for handling the call.. i appreciate you looking into this.:goodvibes

Disney should do a reward program for frequent stays at their hotels, why don't they?:confused3

Beth... i like the soft warm pita bread.. it's yummy! also be sure to drizzle some olive oil on the hummus.. it smooths out the paste texture.:thumbsup2

What the heck? I just looked at the 2009 charts and they have the last week of February in the same season as spring break and summer. I must be missing something? What goes on the last week of February at the parks? I know it's not because of Presidents Day because that was February 19th, and interestingly this year February 1-21 was considered low season on the point chart. But February 22-28 is considered high season? I don't get it.:confused3

Well that's way too rich for this poor girl. I'll stick with the HOJO. :thumbsup2

Calling in now...gave them our info: 40-60 ladies, 10-15 rooms, dinner or appetizers/drinks first night in an onsite meeting room (they require that they cater)...sounds like fun!

Let's see what kind of price they come back with...it might not sound like so much fun when we hear that...:scared:

Okay, got back last night after a whirlwind day at Disneyland for my son's 18th birthday. We left on the first flight out of Phoenix Wednesday morning and came home on the last flight out of OC Wednesday night. What fun! And met up with Cheryl and Mary Jo for dinner - great times!! Unfortunately we missed seeing Michelle, Kelly, and their kids. We were all about the rides and didn't really take too much time to eat until dinner since we were so short on time. I added pictures to the Photopass and am going to edit them today and order it so I should have it next week sometime. Here's a picture I have from Buzz, my alltime highest score!!!

StacieandZachonBuzz.jpg

That's 828,100!!! Here's what we did all day, at least how I remember it, using fastpasses whenever possible, of course (I'm sure I'm forgetting things, who knows??):

Got to DL at 8:45am.
Rode Buzz.
Rode Buzz again (son's favorite ride)
Got fastpasses.

Went to CA at 9:30.
Walked back to TSMM with opening crowd and rode it.
Rode Golden Zephyr.
Rode Maliboomer.
Rode TSMM.
Rode Screamin'.
Rode TOT.
Ate lunch at Taste Pilots.
Got fastpasses.

Went to DL at about 1:45.
Found awesome Photopass photographer, he took tons of pictures of us for the CD.
Rode Indy.
Rode Buzz.
Rode Space.
Rode Buzz.
Rode Buzz.
Rode BTMRR.
Rode Jungle Cruise.
Got silhouette of Zach done.
Rode the monorail out at about 5:15pm, played games then ate at ESPN with the ladies, then Cheryl took us to the airport.

A very full day, and we got to ride all the rides we wanted to except the Matterhorn, only because we forgot.

We rode Buzz 5 times, and DS wanted to have a contest, best 3 out of 5, since his previous high score was 100 points more than my previous high score. Unfortunately for him, I beat him 4 out of the 5 times! His excuse? He had a bad gun! Then when we went to ESPN, there's a shooting game so he took the red gun and I took the blue gun; I have never shot a gun before, other than on Buzz, so I figured he would beat me. Well, I beat him. Same excuse, he had a bad gun. So we traded guns, and guess what? I beat him again! Even though it was his birthday, I couldn't let him win, now could I???:laughing::laughing:

Very fun, but I'm exhausted today. I did catch up on this thread and the Vegas thread, so I do have my priorities in order! Especially since I need to do laundry today. :laundy:

So, they have banquet/meeting rooms available at the Paradise Pier and Grand Californian for Thursday night (not at Disneyland Hotel due to a convention). We're looking at minimum food requirement of $50/person plus tax and gratuity. And we all have to order the same meal, with exceptions for vegetarians.

They are going to get back to me with rates for the rooms.

Welcome back!! Congrats on the high score. You are so funny beating your DS over and over. LOL
I'm glad you had fun and you got to meet with Cheryl and Mary Jo. I forgot Michelle was going to DL this week.
