Amy..that's so excitting about your DVC!:yay:

Stacie.. If things don't work out with WendyLouWho and your brother.. then we can always fix him up with DebbieLouWho..WendyLouWho's sister:thumbsup2

So keep on rationalizing. Sounds good to me! :goodvibes Did you buy in after our trip?

Lol....I always try to talk myself into things before I talk to Paul. And yes. I wanted to buy immediately, but waited and waited and did nothing. It was funny because I was looking at the calendar in my office thinking that it was March 25th and that was the last day of the incentives and right at that moment, my phone rang and it was the DVC guy. Talk about timing.

Ahhh Amy... you've got littttttLe ones! i just saw the ages of your kidlings.:goodvibes

Mistress Melody quite vocaLicLy how does your cilantro grow?:rotfl:

Great the Emergency Alert System is on...

Ummm...the soon to be ex-wife isn't scary is she??

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

BLT = Bay Lake Tower (the new DVC addition) at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

.....or as already mentioned, a bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Take your pick. (wink)

Oh gosh too funny. Ok sorry for using the lingo. I have obviously been doing waaaaaayy too much reading about DVC lately..lol.

The reason BLT (NOT bacon, lettuce, tomato....HATE maters..yuck!!) is so tempting (besides the obvious proximity to Magic Kingdom, the monorail, and the poly where we LOVE to eat!!) is that all of the 1-bedrooms sleep 5 like the ones we toured on the ladies trip. Many of the other DVC properties only sleep 4, and since we are a 5-person family, we would need a 2-bedroom which is much more points. Some of the 1-bedrooms at Animal Kingdom sleep 5, but not all. I was already thinking of some points at AKL, but when I found out BLT had all 5-people 1 bedrooms it really pulled me in. I know right now DVC sales are down, but I think the location of the contemporary makes these units desirable (like GCH) and I am worried they will go faster.

With DVC, you can book earlier (11 months out) wherever your "home" points are. If you have points at 2 resorts, that gives you 2 places to book 11 months out at. For non-"home" resorts, you have to wait until 7-months out, and with limited 1-bdrm options, I am worried we may have trouble booking rooms.

Anyways, there are supposed to be new incentives released soon, so I am waiting to see what they are before I decide. We wouldn't need a ton of points, as we usually only go to WDW every 2-3 years now that we live out here, so we could bank and borrow points to make enough for that frequency of trips.

Now is really scary. We don't get them very often in California, but when we do, it frightens me.

Thanks Dawn...

I've just spent a couple of hours going through this thread and looking at all your pics and I'm a little jealous! I wanna be a Diva too. :rotfl: I'll probably go back and check out the earlier trips and planning, too. I wonder if you have room for one more on your 2010 trip?? It soulds like a great time all around. I'd be traveling alone tho, so I wonder if I'd feel out of place. Do you guys usually bring other family members with you? I'll go back to reading now.

Lisa :flower3:

Welcome Lisa! Lots of us (including me) were first-timers this last trip. It was a blast! I was a little nervous about going on a trip a) by myself-without the hubby and kids and b) with a group of strangers (both being things I'd never done before) but once I met a few of them I knew it would be wonderful. Everyone is great and I feel like I made instant friends.

The yearly trip is ladies only, but there have been some other things here and there that people bring families to.

You will get to know everyone just by bring in the thread. Hang around! And check the front page for info as we get closer.

yep...little ones, well my oldest just turned 12, which totally freaks me out! happens so fast. and I am done having kids...so it is a little sad at times. my youngest was preemie, so she has done everything a little slower. longer to talk, walk, etc. She is 3 1/2 now and we are still working on potty training. And she is definitely a "mommy's girl". I have to admit, as awful as it sounds, sometimes I treasure that she is moving slowly because I know before long I won't have little ones anymore.

I'm actually thinking of using my extra incentive DVC points (they have to be used by Oct 3rd) to take a mom and child trip with each of them. Focus on just what they want to do and take each for a few days so they get all my attention.

ooohh wow Melody! I'm just thinking of all the wonderful things you will make with those herbs:goodvibes
