i just tacked on 2 nights pre-trip for DM, myself and DD4 to spend time together and relax. That said, DM's birthday is a few weeks after the trip, so I'd love to do a "girls night" and have a special dinner before the rest of the family arrives. We're at POFQ for the "pre-trip", so DTD would be great, but we're willing to go on an adventure (we're not using park tickets though, so it needs to be non-park). We're all pretty adventurous eaters and DD4 does pretty well for decently long meals. Ideas???

If it's a weekend and doesn't have to be an actual dinner, Raglan Road does a Sat/Sunday brunch that's quite nice. There's entertainment (Irish dancing) but overall it doesn't get as loud (in my experience) as dinner gets.

I would choose Narcoossees in the Grand Floridian. This lovely restaurant is set out in the back of the resort facing the Magic Kingdom, right on the lake. I would plan dinner so that you could view Wishes from the porch after your meal, and I would arrive early enough so the three of you could explore the resort, perhaps relax in the Grand lobby, and then strol down to the waterfront for dinner. Maybe plan 90 minutes befor Wishes so you can be done dinner and dessert before the fireworks display.

I was there in October and one of my fondest memories was watching families walk down the path, little girls dressed in their special dresses, ready for a "fancy" evening out.

I planned this restaurant for our "evening" out, and have already purchased two "party" dresses for my two little Princesses who are joining my family this trip. I really think the three of you would love this pretty restaurant set on one of the lovliest resorts on property.

I just have to add, POFQ is my granddaughter's favorite resort, bar not not one! A few years ago my DD and I planned a Beach Club vacation, and we all were so excited! Whow doesn't want the BC with that pool?? My DGD, that's who! My DH does nto always travel with us, but her was there that trip, so she asked if we could take him to see her favorite resort, and have lunch there. Poor kid was "homesick" for her favorite place to stay! LOL! Your daughter will love this lovely little resort!

if none of those suit your fancy, going to AKL and exploring and watching the animals before a meal at Jiko would be a great time too....(or Boma, but it seems louder and not as special)

I love all these ideas!

I didn't know Raglan Road did brunch - I will have to look into that. I'd been toying with dinner there, but brunch is another option.

I hadn't really considered this, but I like the idea. Is Narcoossees pretty kid-friendly? DD is pretty well-behaved, but I wouldn't want anywhere too quiet/that I was too worried about her behaving like a 4-year-old. DH and I have dkne Citricios and while im sure kids are welcome there it had a pretty "adult" vibe, I'm thinking Narcoossees might be better? I also tentatively have afternoon tea booked at GF - I think DD will definately like visiting there:-)

Love this! I was debating between here and Pop, but figured my mom and i I would enjoy the amenites here more and that DD might try the slide and would love the boat to Disney Springs. We also have an aristocrats story with Scat Cat, so I'm excited to show her "his club". I also partially decided against Pop because I didn't want DD to be sad to change from the jumbo icons of Pop to the more sedate Poly for the whole-family part of the trip, sounds like she might be just as sad to leave POFQ (not that that's a bad thing)

I like this idea too. We love love love Saana but haven't tried Jiko or Boma. I don't think my mom's ever been to AKL, so that might be a fun way to spend part of the day.

Narcoossees is very kid friendly. Honestly, you can take her to any of the signature restaurants and she will be perfectly fine. My Granddaughter was 4 on her first trip and she was used to dining out, but we were a little worried that she might be annoying jut becasue she was there. Nope! The restaurants are eally not quiet adn you will see plenty of children. I am takign a 5 and a 6 YO there in August and have no worries.

The slide and pool at POFQ are the right size for a little girl. Kady was a bit of a nervous kid in the, but she was not at all afraid there. The lifegaurds are incredibly vigilent.

Afternoon tea is a treat I have not enjoyed yet, but I think that the three of you will love it. At 3 int eh afternoon the Grand pianist settles in the lobby and plays the nicest music! I sat and watched little girls, dacing to the music. That was the minute I decided that I was bringing my little Nola and Rylee so that they could dance in the Grand "Ballroom"!

If you are looking to take a little boat ride, the boat to POR and DTD is nice, especially in the evening. You may also catch a glimpse of the carrraige ides that take place on the "streets". Early morning at POFQ is my favorite time of day. The sidewalks are all freshly pressure washed, and the sidwalks along the little streets are lined with plush shrubery. If you look down there are alway bunnies peeking out.
