Great news about your mom! My mom is doing really good too. She has yet to hear from the cancer doctor so I am hoping that is a good sign!

LOL! You always make me smile! That's great that your mom is doing well! I know how hard that can be! My grandma is having some issues that she is getting looked into right now. She has already had cancer twice (2 different kinds). I just hope she will be ok.

My grandma had 2 different kinds of cancer too.

A small break in work has brought my head above water. But I realize I'm almost a whole thread behind! Lots have happened - sorry I haven't had time to catch up on everything everyone has been doing. I am waiting for my entertainment book to arrive to book my hotel room for the trip.

I just had lunch today there with a gf. She ordered the low carb, splenda cheesecake which at 530 cal (split = 260ish) was a good choice. But darn, it wasn't half price coz it's too soon! But great tip, Beth!!

Speaking of entertainment rate.... I need to book our room. I think I'll do that Saturday? Or probably tomorrow. Or Friday.

Ugh! So I spent all day at the court house for jury duty. Spent all of it in the jury pool room. Only left for lunch. Feel like I wasted the day.

It went fine. It was just to get the blood test results from my internist. She said it all looked fine. The next appt I have is with the breast surgeon in August.

We are in day 2 of our clinicals.....I am not sure how people do this for years?
1 year will be enough for me. But I will appreciate my job as a nurse for doing the other work before hand!

Hi Everyone!

Well I'm headed to Vegas to. I have to work out there this coming week. So I'm arriving Sunday afternoon and leaving on Friday afternoon. I'm using this work trip as a way to get my family another vacation though. So while I'm working 10-12 hours a day (of course it'll be hotter in Vegas than here ), Josh will be exploring the city with the kids and my co-worker's husband and their kids. Both of us thought it would be a way to give them a vacation and we'd get to spend some time with them when we're not at work.

The one thing I know we'll be doing when I get off of work on Thursday is heading to the National Cheesecake Day at the Cheesecake Factory. Other than that I'm not sure what we'll do because it will be dependent on when I get done with work.

Have a great Vegas weekend girls! I'm jealous (again!).

My tags are all from things that I've said on the thread. Last Fall/Winter, we had the best time teasing some of the girl's about the Monkey Bride in HM. That turned into a story about Elvis, and I acted scared.

We all told our children's birth stories and baby shower stories (or lack of baby shower stories) back in the spring. I opened my big mouth and talked about my uterus. The tag fairy even posted on our thread to heckle me about it.

We were talking about our style in the 80's and some even posted photos back in the spring. I brought up the shirts that changed color in the sun and/or with heat. I mentioned how mine became obscene due to the size of my 'girls' (my father wouldn't let me wear it in public), and the tag fairy felt the need to heckle me again. (Love you tag fairy, mean it!)

My hovering around quote is what I had placed under my name because Molly made the comment to me once that for being a black raincloud, I was awfully happy. The tag fairy just made it colorful for me!


That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Morning all! Well tonight is our big swim team party and the LAST thing we have to do in swim for the season. YAY! Again we had fun this year but I am GLAD it is over! Like most sports we participate in, they are fun while they last but by the time they are over we are MORE than ready to be done LOL.

We are going over to the high school where the girls practice and they are having a big buffet/pot luck where we all have to bring something and then each child will receive a participation trophy for the year and then a few will get an extra award for things like coaches award, spirit, most improved etc. On our old team Katy got the spirit award her first year and the coaches award last year. I told her don't expect anything this year though because this is a MUCH larger team and the coaches don't know her as well. Plus there are some REALLY good swimmers on this team so chances are some of them will most likely get those trophies. It would be nice if one of them got something but I seriously doubt it this year.

Anyway they will also have a big slide show that our team photographer puts on so I am looking forward to that. I bought the disc last year from our old team and got some GREAT photos of the girls. I never brought my stil OR video camera all year and wish I had because esp when the girls each got their first places it would have been nice to get that on video but oh well. But I am hoping that our photog got some good pics! I am not that good at taking pics anyway and the prof photogs do a GREAT job! So I am looking foward to that!

Tomorrow I have to work and then either tomorrow night or first thing Sat Shane is leaving with his buddies to go camping and prob won't be back till late Sun night. I am not sure what is going to happen with Lynn. Shane was going to try and arrange for her to go stay with someone so that tension wasn't there but I am not sure what is going to happen yet. I check her myspace page every so often just to see what is going on with her and today she had actually put her phone number on there! UGH! She really has NO common sense! I told Shane she needs to take that down ASAP because someone with skills could trace that and get our address!!! I can't believe even besides the address that she would want to put her phone number on the world wide web for all to have and possibly get crank called or have god knows WHO call her! UNBELIEVABLE.

Plus she applied for a job at a place that is like 15 miles or more from our house and says she is going to take the bus but when we called the bus place they said it would take almost 3 hours 1 way with all the transfers to get there! SO not worth it. But you can't tell her anything. She thinks that any time we are trying to tell her something for her own good that we are just trying to knock her or be negative. I told her that we are just trying to HELP her make the best decisions based on our OWN experience but you can't tell her anything. SO frustrating.

Anyway I hope everyone has a GREAT day today and for those getting ready to go to Vegas I must say I am jealous! Have a BLAST!

Hello! Just a quick drive by hi today! Tuesday and Thursday are the bar exam days. Been studying for the bar exam and other than stopping by and doing facebook here and there, I've been pretty consumed with studying and being a mommy. Trust me, that's enough. I wish I could catch up here, but it will have to wait. Hope everyone is fine and dandy, and those who aren't I'm sending hugs.
Good news, though, my MN is back on! I'm so excited! We leave early Sat. morning, Aug. 1. We're driving, so wish me luck!
