Some of you may remember a few days ago I mentioned that my sisters MIL had a heart attack and I was watching my nephews a lot.
Well she passed away. It is very sad & I could hardly understand my sister when she called at 1am. The bad part is the hospital sent her home yesterday eventhough she had only been out of ICU for less than a day & my sister didn't understand why they sent her home because they weren't even done with all the testing and she didn't look well.
Eventhough she wasn't related to me she did more for me and my kids than a lot of my family members. She was a very friendly, giving & generous lady and died too young. My kids are upset right now because they just don't believe it and are really mad at the hospital.
My sister is having a hard time because she was VERY close to her MIL. It's just hard because all of this was sudden and unexpected.
I'm very tired right now & I'm hoping I will still make it to the meet tonight but things are still up in the air.
...I put a cold beer on it last night to keep the swelling down, but it didn't help.
Well ladies, today is my big TEST day.....I'm taking the Praxis this afternoon at 1:00pm. I hope I pass it. UGH, it's going to be like taking a 4 hour SAT test. I'm looking forward to getting it over with though.
The bad part is that I have some kind of red, swollen, painful eyelid thing going on. It started yesterday, and this morning I look a little like I've been in a fight. I put a cold beer on it last night to keep the swelling down, but it didn't help. I can't look up very much because my painful swollen eyelid is in the way, and I can 'feel' it there, which is creeping me out. I have no idea what this swollen eyelid thingy is or why it happened. All I know is that it hurts. Ouchy. Oh well, crap happens and you gotta deal with it.
But my biggest worry today is passing the Praxis. Wish me luck.![]()
Thanks Sarah. I was going to call and book it, but if you're doing it then cool. Thanks roomie.![]()
HI girls.
Big hugs to January. It takes a lot of courage to leave. When I left my kids dad it was the hardest thing I had ever done. But there is only so much crap a person can take. I am with Mel, lets punch him out, creep. Its great that you have your family to rely on. Once you get a rountine down, life gets back to normal again, whatever normal is. I am glad he isn't being a jerk and is cooperating with you and the parenting plan.
So for the meet & greet are we having pizza again? The candy buffet was a lot fun.
I'm ready to take the plunge! I'm definitely coming in Feb/Mar. I'm leaving it up to all of you to not let me back out. Hopefully I can also meet some of you in October because I'll be there with DH and the kids Oct.18-24
How do I go about finding a roomie and getting in on tours?

Also, Beth, as our fearless leader, always has answers as well! She is fabulous!

It's supposed to be 110 here today. I'm also scared to see my bill. Our AC runs 24/7.It is sooo hot here and I cant stand it. I am afraid to see my PG&E bill
My baby is turning 7 tomorrow. Where does the time go? I am happy with the wonderful, beautiful young lady she is turning out to be but I want my baby back.
Ooh, went and saw Harry Potter last night. It was good, sad, and exciting.
Thanks. That's a great story about your mom and dad! Wow, after all those years. How neat.Beth, you and your husband have such a cute story.
My parents are high school sweethearts. They started dating at 16 and got married a year after my Mom graduated high school (my Dad is 3 years older). They were married for 2 years, got divorced. They were divorced for 10 yearseek
and somehow met again and started dating. They got married again and 2 years later had me!
Within those 10 years neither of them got remarried or had children.
DBF and I have been dating since we were 16. Wow, where'd the time go? It will be 6 years next month.
Yes, it will be much harder on you than on him. Darn that mommy guilt. But in my family we rarely celebrate birthdays on the actual day. Usually they fall during the week and with school and work it's too hectic so we'll wait until a weekend. You can just do an early celebration for him and make sure he gets some cool gifts to keep him busy while you are away.So my son's birthday is February 27th and he has given me permission to be gone on his birthday so I am going to have to have something great planned while I am gone. It is probally harder on me then him on missing his 13th birthday.![]()
Oh brother--now she's gonna get the big head!

Good luck on your test........YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
The eyelid thing sounds like a stye (infection) which will probably need meds to make it go away.
Capri, try getting a washcloth and putting hot water (as hot as you can tolerate) and put it over your eye.
Capri--it might be stress induced. But I agree with Courtney--try the hot pack thing.
Good luck Capri!!! And I agree with the others about your eye! Try the hot pack and if that doesn't work go to the doc!![]()
LOL only you Capri. Not an ice pack but a beer. Thanks for the laugh.
And I hope your eye doesn't distract you too much during the test. GOOD LUCK.
Capri, good luck on the test. I agree about it being a stye on your eyelid. They can be contagious so be careful. Adam had one, needed eye drops from the doc to clear it up. Warm compresses are best. No more cold beer unless it's for you to drink.
