*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

that would be cool! let me know what Tay decides to do! I would probably get there early (because parking has been such a bear lately) and go to DL first for an hour or so--then hop over to DCA for the wine.

Hopefully I can get an answer from Miss Taylor when she gets up. But I have been doing that too for the last few visits. Going early to DL and hopping over to DCA. Parking has been horrible. I rather get there early and not deal with parking. Ill let you know for sure though.

Greetings from the mountains! I am on a slow dial-up laptop, so I have not read back, but I just wanted to say hi! The first day of girls's weekend was a success! We stopped at the Gap outlet on the way up here and found some good finds. Once we got to the cabin, we all got massages and have been snacking and drinking wine. I'm off to bed to read a couple of pages and then pass out! Have a great weekend everybody! I probably won't be able to check in again until Sunday night.

So, we have four comfirmed for next year. We only need two more for a full table of DisDivas!

I really feel that you must really like the genre of regional food and corresponding spirits to get your moneys worth. Other than some bizarre behavior of one event guest, the evening was really, really enjoyable. :cutie:

...I just realized I said really like five times.

I would really like to try and come... although not sure about the Japanese food!

Did you dip it in the garlic butter sauce they send with it????

Can't believe the naughty minds you all have. :sad2:

Have fun on your trip!

There is absolutely no one on this thread who has a dirty mind! Except Stacerita!!

I love the haircut!!! Very chic.

Completely agree!

So I just got home a little bit ago from a day at DL with Stacielee and Michelle. Stacielee's younger daughter and her friends decided once mom had her own tribe, they would just go do their own thing.

We did Buzz several times. Stacie hit a new high!!!!!! Her score was so high, the counter on the car dash couldn't display it.

We had good guns.

I bettered my score each time. Last one for me was over 300,000. Of course this doesn't come close to the Mistress of Buzz, the Queen of Lightyear.

The weather was perfect and mild. We were going to eat at Carnation but it was closed. Then we walked to the BBQ but even though there were plenty of tables, the wait was 30 minutes! So we ate dinner at a place that Stacie and I had never eaten in before; Michelle had. It's the outdoor place in NO square by the train station, near Haunted M., where usually a little ragtime band plays. Fun to try new places in DL. Stacie took a photo of her cake that she'll upload when she returns.

The funny moment of the day was when I was going to buy some small figures. These are in bags so you don't know what three figures you're going to get. I pointed out the ones I was hoping for. Stacie starts feeling the bags. She says, this one feels like the Haunted car you want. Then Michelle feels and says, "This one feels like the Daisy witch you want."

I buy them, go outside and sure enough, got the Haunted car and Daisy! Amazing what you can do with a little help from your friends. :woohoo:

Dl also has a special now -- if you spend over $50, you can buy a bag for $20. We were pooh poohing that until we saw how good it was. It has wheels and it has a telescoping handle. It's black and says Disneyland on the side. The size and shape is like a gym bag. I got one but then found it didn't fit in the small locker I had, so I carried it all day... :headache:

We did Star Tours and got to sit in the back row - definitely the best spot.

Saw lots of strange outfits; Beth would have enjoyed the people watching.

We left as the park was closing (sometime after 9) to get ready for grad night. It was just as well, as we were all dog-tired but happy.

Okay, here's my 3 best scores from Buzz; I went on it 4 times and the first time I had the worst gun I've ever had, barely over 100k.

I haven't gotten my camera out, but when I do, I'll upload the other pictures. After Donna left, Michelle and I remembered that we wanted to take a picture of all 3 of us! Darn!! So I have one of Michelle and I, and some of the girls, too.

Time for bed, and my old legs need to rest! Seems like everytime I go, my legs get more tired each time, especially my hips and knees!!

Tina, sounds like you are having a wonderful time! I'm jealous, but you deserve this escape. Enjoy it.

Stacie, I love the pics. I think they are all nice to be honest. I forget sometimes just how pretty DCA really is.

Cheryl, have fun this weekend. I hope you and Stacie are able to meet up for the wine talk.

Stacielee, welcome back! I cannot believe your score! WOW! You are the Queen. :worship: :worship: :worship: Glad you had a good time.

I'm off to bed finally. Noelle jammed her toe pretty good tonight. It's pretty painful, swollen, etc. I gave her some meds, but looks like we'll have to take her in to urgent care in the morning.

Talk to y'all sometime tomorrow.

Just a quick post to say Hi! I hope you all are doing well and have a nice weekend. I'm headed to a scrapbook crop today. :cool1: I'm going to work on Selena's Girl Scout album.

Talk to you all later.

Bridgette... how Cute!!! Doesn't a new hairstyle or color put a bounce in your step?! It does for me.

Yes it does!

Thanks for all of the hair compliments and get well wishes. I still feel awful though  I'm about to go take my temp again and lie down even though I woke up 2 hours ago. Yesterday I took 3 naps. I'm also re-reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince before the movie comes out. The movie looks so awesome!

Tina... glad that your girls only trip is turning out to be Grrrrrreat! Travel home safe:goodvibes

Stacierita.. Thank You for sharing the pics.. I see several good ideas!

CheryL... i hope you and stacie get to meet up! Have a happy time at the food and wine festival.

Stacielee... isn't that the truth!!!:rotfl: I never feel old like a grandma til the last day we leave disneyland and my feet are tired..then i'm like.. Man, I AM a Grandma!:rotfl2:

Have a HaPpPy Day GirLy GirLs! Be Love:grouphug:

Poop! I am scheduled to be training someone this weekend, so it would be very hard for me to make it down town (it's about 1-1.5 hours each way for me). If I had known earlier, I could have rescheduled :sad1:

Where are you going for lunch?? The Sutton is a nice hotel. We used to go there for Christmas lunch when I worked at St. Paul's Hospital (which is just up the street from the hotel).

Have a great time at Stanley Park and the aquarium. Make sure to look for the sloth in the rain forest (it's REALLY hot in there!).

Bummer...it really just came up last minute...I didn't know if I would be able to go until thursday. I don't know where we will eat yet. The plan was to meet at her hotel and walk to a restaurant from there...do you have any recommendations? Is there decent parking around there...do they take Visa? I understand about the drive. It is only 28 miles from my house but is supposed to take 90 minutes to get there. :scared1: Oh well, it will be a great family excursion. If the person you are supposed to train gets sick or something be sure you call us and hopefully we could still all meet up. I am excited to meet Vicki but would also LOVE to see you again!

Take care and if it doesn't work out, you and I will plan something together soon!

Favorite locations from your photos: the Golden dreams (if still there) and Welcome to California. Great work on the photos!

.

Ouch. I know what that feels like - did it more than once last year. When you fracture toe bones, they don't do much for you other than x ray it and then buddy tape it to the next toe. Let us know what they say.

Tina... glad that your girls only trip is turning out to be Grrrrrreat! Travel home safe:goodvibes

Have a HaPpPy Day GirLy GirLs! Be Love:grouphug:

And your New Mexico day sounds wonderful. I love the idea of just being able to hop over to another state for the day.

Have fun today Steph!

Have a great day everyone.

That's what I'd read. We didn't take her in, she was feeling better and didn't want to go. Since it didn't seem like they could do much anyway, I said we'll wait another day and see how she feels. Maybe she just bruised it. She's staying off it, has it elevated, and iced.

Steph, have a wonderful time at the crop.

Bridgette, sorry to hear you are still feeling badly.

Everyone have a great day. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful lazy day!!!

My baby boy graduated from Pre-School yesterday. I cried.

Have a wonderful day:hug:

I hope we get to meet up too--sorry about Noelle but glad she seems to be doing better today.

I took Bella to the vet this a.m. for her third set of shots--she's up to 9 1/2 pounds! I also took in Chase because he hasn't been eating--poor baby--his heart is enlarged from fluid so much that his trachea was up against his spine!!!! :scared1: So they are keeping him a couple of hours to drain fluid from him and hopefully he will be better. However, I also got the "you know you may have to make the decision to euthanize and all we can do is postpone the inevitable" speech today. But even as sick as he is, he does all the things he always did--lie in the sun, lie in the window, lie on the bed. (Seems to lie alot right?) As long as he's not too uncomfortable I'd rather nature take her course. Sigh. I feel like a bad mommy that I didn't take him in before today. I've been trying to get him to eat anything--buying him special foods, etc. Hopefully when he comes home today he'll be able to eat. The good news is that he hasn't lost any weight--how, I seriously don't know.

So, my plans to go to the vet and then to the office are on hold. I have a hair appt. at 3:15 (nothing dramatic--just color and trim) and otherwise not doing much today.

Hello everyone!

Cheryl, I'm sorry about Chase. I hope he feels well enough to eat also. Bella is getting is so big! She sounds like she's 9 pounds of love also, how sweet. I need to get my haircut, I just never make time to do it.

Stacie! You are the Buzz master. I'm lucky to break 150,000! :lmao:

Beth, I hope your children start feeling better. It sounds like it's going to be a quiet healing day at your house.

There was more I wanted to say, but I'm being paged into the other room. The boys are ready to play again.

How in the heck do you get that high of a score each time????

Because I'm good! And the 2 high scores happened because we got stopped in front of the first secret target, probably less than a minute, but it definitely helped. I would say that's the only way someone can get a score that's over 1 million. A couple of weeks ago, the high score was over 2 million! Definitely had to have been stopped in one of the 2 spots!!

Hi ladies! How's everyone's Saturday?

I feel better, but I am just so dang congested. I'm just blowing my nose contsantly because I hate sniffling. Sniff, sniff, sniifffff..

Yesterday was Jesus' (DBF) brother's high school graduation. He graduated from the same school we went to and it was nice seeing old friends, coaches and teachers. Thee ceremony was nice, I cried a little. This senior girl said a poem about parents and she started crying and then I started crying. Poor girl. After the ceremony Jesus and I went to sushi and I went home and crashed. I was so tired. Today is his party. I should be getting ready because I need to go to the store before Jesus picks me up. I have to get his brother a card and I'm going to bring something good to drink. All they really have at their house is beer and tequila.

Cheryl, I hope poor Chase feels better. Bella sounds like she's growing fast!! How many pounds is she supposed to get?

Beth, I hope Noelle's toe feels better! My Dad just did that on a ottoman we have and he broke his toe!

Stacielee, your Buzz scores are insane!! You go girl!!!

Bridgette, I hope you feel better. And I think you're hair looks adorable!

What's everyone else up to today?

Hi all, just got back from taking my son to a birthday party at Fun Zone. They have all those bounce house types of things. He had so much fun and got so tired that he fell asleep in the car on the ride home. I am having him take a toes up time right now so he can rest. I don't know what I will do with the rest of my day. Probably paperwork and laundry...as usual.

Take care and hope everyone is having fun today!

If it gets really warm I may take the kids to the water slides...we'll see.

Sarah

I am not trying to ignore anyone...but am home for an hour between setting up my DD School's annual fundraiser and actually working the thing. It is 4-6:30 and it has been sprinkling all day...and the event is outside. This morning I was on helium balloon duty, (and no,they are not the type to inhale helium for the squeaky voice), then worked setting up the food area. We started this morning at 8 am. When the event starts I run the toy swap booth. I am chairwoman of the green team...so it's share a toy, don't buy one.

Anyway....Cheryl, I am so sorry to hear about Chase. So does he have fluid in his chest surrounding his heart? Pleural effusion? Because if that is the case, he really is having trouble breathing...draining will help, but I am with your vet with this one, if they can't keep him comfortably breathing, it is getting to that time. And sadly, the lack of weight loss is before they drain fluid!!

But, that said, if at home he is still doing his kitty things, eating, interacting with you, napping his normal places, doing his normal kitty stuff, then his quality of life is okay. As for letting nature take it's course, cats will linger FOREVER!! Most kitties that die at home were let go weeks too long!!
I always tell clients to remember that your cat doesn't have any unfinished business. He is just living each day as it comes, not trying to hang on to see anyone graduate/get married, etc. We keep them around because we love them, and don't want to be without them.

Oh, while I am in my lecture mode...feed your puppy puppy food please!!! You do know that Corgis are a notoriously fat breed, as she grows, you have to be strict!!! My corti as an adult is fed 1/2 cup diet veterinary food twice daily. He is actually thin, but it's a struggle.

I lecture, because I love....I really really really want to meet Bella.

Morning Ladies. Thank goodness this week is over. It was short, but I am done.

Cristabel -

:cheer2:Congrats on your graduation!!!:cheer2:

Cristabel, congrats to you girlfriend!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the congratulations but I don't graduate until NEXT Friday :goodvibes I still have three finals this upcoming week :headache: But then I'm FREEEEE!

As a dog owner, I'm SO grateful that we have a vet in our group of ladies!

I, too, really really really REALLY want to meet Bella. Years ago my friend got a Corgi puppy and I loved playing with him!:lovestruc They are such cute puppies!
