Hello all

Well I'm officially done packing (for about the umpteenth time) and we are outta here SOON! Just counting down the hours now until we will be experiencing our first ever trip to the World.

We includes:

myself Kat (45 yr. old. grandmother "Nonnie" to Hayley

and

the 1 and only most special granddaughter in the world (not just Disney World) but the WHOLE world!!

Hayley (just turned 7 in June) and this is her birthday present from me!!

We will be staying at ASMovies Aug 1st-8th.....and should be arriving into MCO by 9:30 in the morning!!

Ok...that's it....now if I can just get Hayley to GO TO BED!!
as we have to be up at 3 AM, leave at 4 am. catch a cab at 5 am...and be at airport by 5:30 am to leave (hopefully on time) by 7 am......

So....Girl Meets World and she can't wait (and i can't either)

She's keeping a journal of the trip too...and the little "writer" in her wants to do our trip report when we get back....until then..

We're outta here!!!

Hope you have a wonderful time!!!!!

Eeeeeeee! I am soooo excited for you and Hayley! Have a MAGICAL trip, and be sure to tell us all about it when you get back!

Ok...yes I know we have been back for a week now, and I am STILL trying to figure out the best way to write our report.

SO...until I can come up with something better, this is what I can tell you.

We had a GREAT time! Hayley met a new friend from the Czech Republic while waiting in the queue for ToT. We found out they were also staying at ASMovies so they became almost inseperable for 7 days! It was interesting to sit back and watch the 2 girls becoming friends even though the language barrier kept them from actually communicating to each other. Lots of hand motions and facial expressions seemed to work though! We exchanged email addresses, just haven't quite figured out how we are going to correspond yet! We do not speak Czech and the only 2 words her friend knew in English were Yes, and thank you!

Those fast pass tickets are REALLY a wonderful thing! Although, in my honest opinion the queue lines didn't seem to move as slow as the times were saying.
Hayley's favorite park was MGM, (can you say RnR and ToT??) and boy did we spend ALOT of time there.
On our first try passing the heighth requirement for RnR she was turned down. I, however, was determined to try again another day, and lo and behold she passed the measuring stick EVERY time and was able to ride ALL rides with the 48" mark! So, needless to say, we took full advantage of those opportunities and became seasoned "pros" at RnR and ToT!

Next favorite park would be MK. Although we never did get around to riding Pooh, we did spend alot of time riding Space Mtn.
We also got quite a few character autographs on Hayley's new hat!! We did the Ice Cream social at the Garden Grill at Epcot.., the "Hoop" (i didn't like the food) but the show was good!

Hayley really didn't care for any of the 3-D shows, she didn't like the stuff coming right at her face! So, after she had decided she didn't want to do those any more she just says. Nonnie, that's a little on the scary side, can I go back to snorkel with the sharks instead!!!
The water parks were fun, both have their advantages. We liked the raft/tube slides at BB better than TL, but LOVED that big surf wave at TL and Hayley snorkled at Shark Reef more than once and probably could have done it all day long!

Now...I thought the ASMovies was a nice place for a value resort,
but, I sure wouldn't mind staying at WL just ONCE! Do you think anybody would notice me if I slept in the lobby in my sleeping bag??? I doubt I will ever be able to afford staying in a room there LOL.
The bus service at ASMovies was nice, we never waited over 10 minutes....our longest wait was when we got to the airport and MEARS didn't get there for about 30 minutes.

Things I will not make the mistake of doing again (there are only 2)

1. Don't make an afternoon flight for our return home because we definately didn't get to do anything on our last day. Next time I will know to ask for the LATEST return flight possible..LOL

2. I will never think I am getting a great seat for Fantasmic sitting on the front row. So, for all you folks out there who wear glasses, I hope they have built-in wipers on them! LOL, because you will definately get alot of mist from the fountains and will be constantly having to wipe your glasses off to watch the show!

Im sure there is still plenty of things I have left unsaid about our trip, but fear this post is beginning to get a little bit on the long side, so I will end it here.

Now...off to planning next year's trip!
Sincerely....Kat (grandmother "Nonnie" to Hayley)

Hi.

In answer to your question about the crowds, I didn't seem to think it was bad. I had been reading these boards for about a month before we went down, and everyone was saying it was terribly crowded.

I've seen worse congestion driving in rush hour traffic to work each morning! LOL. So...I don't think you need to worry about seeing the "crowd police" out at this time.

Of course, depending on which park and area you are in could make a difference in crowd size, and also depends on whether or not there's a parade and/or fireworks show going on at the time too!

But, now that most southern state schools are back in session, I would imagine it's gotten much better since we were there.

Hope that helps ya!

Sincerely....Kat
