Giraffes, Zebras and Santa OH MY 10 days at WDW Dec 2010 updated 2/15

Wed Dec 22nd

To say we were excited by our view would be the inderstatement of the year!!! It was amazing. I started blubbering like a baby when I saw my giraffes. It was so amazing.

That had to be such an incredible feeling when you walked into your room, out to the balcony, and saw that view for the first time. What a great experience it was for the girls to be able to watch those animals in action.

Disney naps for little ones, and sometimes for the big people, too, help things stay much nicer for everyone. Usually they are those good hard sleeps, too. ::yes::

We love Beauty and the Beast. I wish they had more short shows like this all over WDW.

Great Day at the Studios, Mary and an even better room! Love the view and all the animals around there! When we were staying there we had a room with a similar view and I refused to leave the room to go to a park - too much going on right outside the balcony! ;)

Hi Mary,
I just wanted to make sure I commented on your trip report, sometimes I forget. I love all your pics. The ones of the girls on the carousel are so adorable! I'm glad you liked Pop. We liked it okay but it's bit too loud and crazy for us. Anyway I would love to go to Disney over actual Christmas. I can't wait to read all about it! We have been in early December when crowds are low. you are brave ;). Wow you hit the jackpot on that Kidani savanna view, it's amazing!!! We are going in October too this year, but I think we don't check in until the 8th. Hopefully our dates will overlap.

Score on the room - big time! Love all the animal action! I love Kidani!!!!!! Nothing like a 2 hr nap to shake out the crabbies!

I hope dinner and illuminations goes well!

Sounds like you guys had fun at Hollywood Studios. I had forgotten how bright and colorful the Beauty and the Beast show is.

Wow! I don't blame you for any blubbering you did when you saw your view and all of the animals. Can't wait to see what Jeff thought about it.

What a great view!

I love the pictures of the Beauty and the Beast show. We missed it last trip and it is on my list of things we have to do this time.

I can't wait to hear about Garden Grill. I really want to try it but have been outvoted. Chip and Dale are so cute, plus you get to see Mickey in his overalls. The food choices scare me a little though.

The Beauty & the Beast show looks really nice. I've never been to it. I would love to try it out next time.

:woohoo: Yay for your new room with the awesome view!!!! I can't believe that many animals were hanging outside of your window!

Wow the view from your new room is amazing! I can see why you guys were so excited about it.

Great pics of the Beauty and the Beast show, we have never seen this but hoping to one day in the future.

Looking forward to more:goodvibes

I can't believe the food wasn't good at 1900PF. We've always had good meals there. So sorry.

Man, it WAS cold that night. I know my DW would of been wanting to leave MVMCP too. But at least you still got to see the Christmas Parade.:thumbsup2

Devine!!!!! :cool1::cool1:

Your view from your NEW room was AWESOME!!!!!!!! ::yes:: :yay::yay:

what a view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah....it makes me relax just seeing those giraffes all the way from here.

I thought I subbed but apparently not. All caught up except some of your pics aren't showing on your early chapters :( Cute pictures, I love it!

WOW WHAT A GREAT LOCATION!!!!

We had a far walk too when we stayed at AKL. If you were outside looking at the lobby from the parking lot, our room was in the very last wing to the far right of the lobby. It was about a 5 min walk after we left the lobby. Getting to the pool and food court was fine because we found elevators mid-way between the lobby and our room which we used when we went to the pool and got food but it was a pretty hefty walk so I feel you on that one but our view was amazing too!
We thought for sure after a day or two that the views of the animals would get old but I'm telling you we were out there watching ever second we were in the room and had the time! For us it was worth it to pay the extra money to stay in a Savanna room!

I know!!! We had a hike back to the lobby etc. I donl't think I would ever go without a savanna view. I am an animal snob :rotfl2:

Oh my, Mary. That is exactly WHY I want to stay at the AKL. Your pictures are great...thank you for sharing them. I love Avery looking out over the balcony. And tell Crabby Cayley no crabby allowed in September!

I know, I have more for another update. it is just amazing! She has her moments but will nap if need be

What an awesome view! sounds like a wonderful day at DHS...I love the Beauty and the Beast show and have not seen it since 2001. Hopefully, I can fit it in this year.

Love the pictures of the giaraffe's how sweet looking...

It was!! If you need some girls to go see the show with let me know!! You guys will have to come and swim at Kidani.

Great pics of the animals. My favorite was the last one. Was that a baby giraffe?

I find it interesting that the CM asked you if you minded the extra walk - would anyone really turn down a better view just not to walk the extra bit. :)

Thanks so much! I think he was a little guy. I guess they want to ask to make sure.

It was, I knew we had made the right choice to buy at AKV. Naps are good for all! I agree about the shows.
