I think I read somewhere here that there is Ginger flavored candy you can buy to help with sea sickness. Can anyone tell me more about this - what it is, where I can find it, etc.? TIA! :)

Google Ginger Chew, and you will find them. Have not tried them myself.

There are ginger chews that you can find online or at health food stores. You could also try crystallized ginger.

They have them at Trader Joe's, too...

you can also find them at most maternity shops sold as "preggie pops" or "preggie drops"

I was having difficulty finding "ginger" so I ended up on drugstore.com, I searched ginger and they had both crystalized ginger for eating and ginger pills. Since everyone in my party is over 12 ( so no problems swallowing) I purchased the ginger pills in capsule form.

For our first cruise, we found the ginger chews at the little shop in the MCO airport mall. For our second cruise, the clerk looked at me like I was asking for something from an alien planet. We've since found the gingerpeople website and go stocked with chews.

The chews are so tasty, I can't imagine a reason to switch to capsules. What fun would that be?

Trader Joe's, as said above, has great Ginger Gummy Bears! :thumbsup2

It isn't for fun for me, it really is about the most convienient way to keep quesies at bay and my personal difficulty in finding anything that resembled candy before I purchased! Had I known about ginger people before I purchased, than my choice might have been different.

Ginger in capsules is quite readily available. I first got mine at a natural health store, but have since found them at Walmart, in the vitamin/supplements aisle.

ginger works wonders for nausea, hence a remedy for seasickness

Here's an ad for Gin Gins at the gingerpeople website

Okay, after searching the internet for local sources, I found Ginger Chews and Gin Gins are carried not only by Trader Joes, not in my area, but also by Costco and World Market. World Market had them for $1.99 a 3 oz bag. They also have the ginger gummy bears, ginger altoids, and several other ginger candies.

I absolutely LOVE these candies. They have a nice ginger bite to them and they are indeed chewy!!

In addition to seeing them at Trader Joes, and World Market, I almost always find them at Marshalls or Home Goods. I *THINK* I've seen them at Whole Foods, too, but don't quote me on that one.

You'll find them packaged in a variety of ways, too, as you can see below.

Yes, I believe Whole Foods was also on the list I found. Another store we don't have around here.
