Ging Gang Goolie 2008, 23rd May, Tal-y-Bont On Usk

no updates honey, the plan certainly is for the marquee, I have left lots of messages for Gilestone to call me back, and they havent which is a little worrying, if I've not heard anything by the weekend I am going to take a drive up there.

Give them what for Jules - don't they realise there are a load of Ging Gang Gooliers depending on them.

we will definately still be ginging, even if we have to do it in the football field behind my house LOL

Update - I always feel bad cos I feel that Gilestone are not communicating and then they come up trumps, basically the roof blew off the marquee so now it is just sides. Her and her hubby are off to Macro this afternoon to look at the party tents, which she says are large and ideal for us, she will have more info tomorrow ....

I will post more when I speak to her tomorrow x

I have update from Christine - they went to Makro yesterday and got the Party Tent, it is not as big as the marquee, so she says £130.00, if that is ok with everyone. As the tipi people from last year know, they also charge camping fees on top of the tipi mans cost, what she has said is that for those who want to sleep in the Party Tent is that she will charge half price camping fees, so that means £3.25 per night for adults and a £1 per night for children, for those bringing own tents £6.50 per night per adult £2.00 per child over eight, under eight free. It will work out about £10 per head for us to have the party tent, I haven't included the children in this, so not Ellie and Matthew, Callum or India and Georgia, it will be less if Sue, Jen and Alex join, us I need to pm them to see if they are coming I so hope so ... The Party Tent doesn't have a ground sheet, but I don't think the tipis did either, but Ian has a roll of polythene that we can bring and double it up on the floor, Christine is very excited she is going to put party lights in it, she bought those yesterday too ...

Sounds great Jules, we are bringing our tent again but we will contribute to the party tent :thumbsup2

Do you want me to send some money now Hun ?

no Nat honey, she says she knows and trusts us so doesnt want a deposit

Hi Jules we will be bringing a tent but have no problems with contributing to the marque.:thumbsup2

You're right Jules there wasn't a ground sheet, it had coir mats and sheepskin rugs directly on to the ground (the rugs made it a little more comfy!).

Any idea how big the tent is?

Good news is if there will be party lights, there'll be power somewhere near:thumbsup2

I don't think anyone who's bringing their own tent needs to contribute to the Party Tent. I'm happy to pay my share of whatever it costs for those of us sleeping in it.

I bet we will all use it a lot though...especially if the weather isn't kind ;)

I was pleased to hear about the lights too, as that means electric, I have also asked for a hook up for our tent as then we can use the little fridge, its not huge but it will keep a few things cool. This is my only concern to be honest Matt, I dont think it is anywhere near as big as the marquee would have been, she mentioned 18 foot, we are going there in two weeks time, she was so excited telling me she can't wait to show me it! Thinking about it in bed last night and I am concerned that those who were going to sleep in it, may now think it is a little small, a bit too intimate maybe :confused3 , I suppose another option would be a cheap two man dome tent just to shushy in ?

That's so sweet of you Deb, I suggested chipping in cos like Nat says if we are not blessed with the weather, we will be gatecrashing on you, you paid all that money for the tipi last year, and it turned into our party pad ...

We've got our own tent as well and are happy to chip in for the party tent.

How many of us are actually sleeping in Party Central?
