This year I decided to beat the crowds and do some shopping online. I never thought about what would happen when the shipment was packaged. I assumed the name of the store would be discreet this time of year.

I'd pay a couple bucks more if the box was plain this time of year!

TOYRUS has the name of the store in BIG BOLD letters on the sides of the box. Every kid recognizes that logo!

I had to switch the contents when a kiddo wasn't looking and reopen the box with a relatives present in it! Thank goodness he did not ask why Toysrus needed a huge box for his cousins DVD!

What stores have their shipping boxes stamped with the store name on it? Which stores are discreet?

I luckily ordered the fur real pony from Target to arrive at my work. I go to put it in my car, the side and the top is a full color picture of a kid sitting on this horse. I had a hard time covering the big box to get it home with DD in the car.

I would have been really mad if we pulled in the drive to see it sitting on the front steps!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Christmas people, put it in a plain box!

I ordered from Overstock is was good with plain boxes but the choices are limited and the return policy has restocking fees

Loved the little blank apple.com box! Although they didn't make me sign for it! It was lying on my front porch today!

American Girl is very good about not plastering their name all over the box.
BUT when I'm holiday shopping online, I have things delivered here at work. That way there are no surprises when the kiddos get home before me.

Baby Girl's Dora castle from Walmart came with "TOY" in big letters and then "Girl's toy" under that - plus the visible packing slip in a plastic see-thru pouch on the box. Luckily I spotted it and got it hidden before she could!

Yeah, the Dell computer boxes are not discreet. They ship their smaller items in plain boxes, though. I ordered a camera and a Zune MP3 player for DD and had them shipped to my work. I had to do that because she's nosey.

That is what I do as well. I do have a box from Disney going to the house- probably today. Its for the kids and dh. Hopefully no one opens the box! DD knows there is something for her and something for daddy in there, so it should be safe.

I remember our gateway computer came in those cow boxes. Good thing it wasn't a surprise! Plus it came during work hours so I had to go to UPS and pick it up as they refused to leave it on the porch.

Be careful with American Girl. If they ship something to you in the box it was shipped to them in (ie, larger items) they often are stamped on the side with the contents. I had this happen with the twin stroller and a crib.

Williams Sonoma does the same thing - if it's shipped in the box it came to them in it will say what's inside.

Amazon has their logo on the boxes but with Amazon, it could be anything in that box. Thus why I usually stick with them when buying presents online.
