Gifts from Travel Agent

We got our gift basket from Dreams which was a shopper bag filled with reusable mugs, a watch for the beach/pool, highlighters, extension lead, sweets, gosh there was so much in there I can't remember what else. It certainly put disneys gift to shame. It was all really useful stuff and you could tell a lot of thought and consideration had been put into it.

A memory box with picture frame that has DCL on it. Better than those gifts by far- the travel bag of goodies left by Disney for it repeat customers.

I have booked three cruises through the same agent (I travel on the third one later this year) and got zip, nothing, not a thing. I won't be using this agent or the franchise ever again after this trip though because she became rude and condescending when I didn't book my flights through her this time - her quote for the flights were $4000 more than what I got myself online and better suited to our needs. Next time I book a cruise I'll probably go through DU or another Australian agent who is independent.

Do I gets gift baskets if I'm going on a 14 nights wbta

Your asking about the DU gift basket??
If so, then no because the WBTA doesn't leave from PC.....

The one time I used a "Disney specialist" they gave me a Fish Extender and "claimed" credit for a $50 OBC that turned out to be from Disney actually LOL! (I won't be using them again)

My other agent who is a cruise specialist gave me a bottle of champagne and cheese tray!

Birthday cruise (not a DCL) I had a birthday cake from my TA in my stateroom and some drink coupons from my friends.

We use Michelle at Destinations in Florida and we love her! She gave us waterproof disposable camera, a dry erase board, container of disinfectant wipes, small tube of sunblock, some hand sanitizer and white pillow cases for the kids. She had all of the items in one of those reusable grocery type bags with Mickey and Minnie on it. We used the bag for the pool and CC. We thought they were all very thoughtful gifts. And, hightlighter markers, too!

When naming your TA or any other business that has a website make sure you include the FULL url of the website to see that it passes thru the DISboard filters and is allowed to be posted on DIS. If you do not do this and we find that you mention a banned website your post will be deleted and you will receive and infraction.

You can find further information about this at the DISboard guidelines which everyone agreed to when registering.

Last year from AAA we got picture credits from Shutters

That's not a gift - it's AAA standing offer for DCL cruises. AAA does not give any OBC.

I would only choose AAA on a small 3n cruise and then again, only if they have a promotion for a gift card. Those will usually add up to a higher amount than what another TA like DU or SW would give, as those are based on dollar spent.

The problem is also getting a good TA with AAA. The good ones don't last long.

We have always gotten the standard AAA gift. (this year it is the photo package-it''s changed a bit over the years)

In the past our Travel Agent thru AAA also gave us a $50 obc that was specifically from her with a message saying to have fun :)

Western NY, Premier AAA members get additional NON ON BOARD related rebates which is wonderful. Money is money, weather its an OBC or a rebate check, I'll take it!

We have never gotten a basket from DU.
Hmmm... When did they start doing that?

I believe it was somewhere in the beginning of last year (but could be wrong).
I believe that they started with the 7 night cruises and then slowly brought the baskets on the other cruises (less then 7 nights) from PC.
