I never called ahead of time with the Disney Visa Rewards card, but before the cruise was over, I went down to Guest Services and had them put all my Rewards Dollars onto my Guest Folio so that when I spent money, it would deduct it right from the card. I don't know what happens if you don't spend all the Rewards Dollars because I've never had that problem
