Can you use a disney gift card to pay for a reservation? If so, can you do it by phone?

Is should say its ok to use at the theme parks and at WDW on the back ours did last year.

we've used GCs at the front desk a few times, without any problems.
have'nt tried using one over the phone tho, sorry
