I really want to do a gift basket for each of my kids on our trip in July. I am going to do them myself because of cost constraints. Does anyone have any ideas of good things to put in them? My kids are a boy 6, and girls that are 4 and 2. Thanks for any help!

Here are some general ideas:

Head to a Dollar Store the ones around here (Dollar Tree) carry both glowsticks and glow necklaces (much cheaper than in the parks!).

Here are some other ideas (which you could probably find at a Dollar Store (Keep an eye on the Target Dollar Spot as Well (they had some great stuff last summer) (Also at Target check the summer asiles back by the toys I walked by thier the other day and saw lots of cheapy summery stuff.

Coloring Books
Stickers
Candy/or other treat
Bath capsules that expand into tiny sponges when put in water (I have seen these at Target Dollar Spot recently)
Sunglasses
Books
Some type of pool toy
Sand bucket/pail/shovel
Small toy (the dollar store is a good place for this)
Get a card and say Mickey/Minne/Gang are looking forward to thier arrival.
Mickey Chapstick (Saw this at CVS (it is done by Chapstick brand $0.94)
Disposable camera for each of them
Make a homemade autograph book for them and include a pretty marker or pen for them to use
fun colored shoe laces (do they make mickey/minnie ones?)
maybe a misty fan they can share (check walmart)

That is all I can think of now I will add more later if I think of anything else.

Instead of a "basket" you could fill a sand pail/bucket. Also available at the dollar stores.

If you want a surprise sent ot your room at WDW - try the WDW florist.
They have lots of great things for kids and families which can be delivered to your room while you are out at the Parks.
You juts can not say from 'Mickey' or other character name - but you could say from 'Your magical friends' or from 'Your buddies at the parks'

Are there any other places than the Disney Florist? Years ago my mother sent me something from a Disney resort itself that had a bottle of champagne, etched Mickey Glasses with our anniversary date and our names on it, and lots of other wedding related Disney items in it. She didn't put it together herself (she's not creative, she most likely called the hotel, said what she wanted and gave her credit card) and when we arrived our room was decorated, there was a cake, and the gift basket.

Is there a menu somewhere for that?

I don't know of a menu for that, but if you are staying concierge I bet they could help you arrange something like that. You might also check out the following link it is done by diser ferlapeg...a lot of people have ordered baskets from her.
