I know I saw a thread about some ideas for gift baskets not too long ago, but I can't find it now. I could really use some ideas. I was thinking of doing baskets for my MIL and FIL and also for my Dad and Stepmom. I've thought of movie night or romantic night, but that's all I can think of.

Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks!

How about those mixes in a jar (dry ingredients for cookie or bread mix) along with favorite coffees / teas /cocoas...... new mugs....... or add already made cookies. Include a good book to read?

Breakfast in a basket: once we got a mix for the best blueberry pancakes (some company in VT), again add coffees........ spreads.... maple syrup.....

Crafters baskets.
Gardeners baskets.
Fishing basket.
Chef's basket.

Now may be a good time to get the stuff together. I was at Michaels and baskets and arrangements are 40% off this week. I am considering making some for the neighbors.

Last year I did one for SIL. I put in Bath and Body stuff, family ornament for the tree, stuff like that.

Guys are easy, beer and snacks and a favorite shirt/video/book.

I bought my mom a sewing machine for Christmas, I think I will make her a sewing basket for her b-day...

Figure out what people like, what their hibbie srae, and go off that. For example, gardening(seeds, little pots, gloves, seed starter pots), bingo(bingo stamper, a cute t-shirt,,a covered coffee mug), lottery(scratchoffs, the Beanie Baby lotto bear, quik picks),sewing(thread, needles, thimbles, buttons, gift cert to fabric store),a movie basket(popcorn, candy,a video or video store gift cert or movie ticket passes, a couple of cans of soda).

You can also do holiday themed ones...for example, if the person is irish, how about one with all sorts of Irish-themed stuff and St.Patricks Day decorations?

They really are fun to do once you get the hang of it.

I am going to do a gift basket for my grandma. She is always saying she is cold (because of blood-thinning meds), so I plan to start with a fleece throw blanket, a vcr tape of old MGM musical, and a gift certificate to the grocery store. She is very picky about what she eats because of sugar diabetes.

Keep these good ideas coming. I just found out today that our Boy Scout troop is going to have a silent auction for themed baskets. It will help finance a visit from our brother troop in England. Each patrol is responsible for building 1 to 3 baskets to auction off. I need more ideas and I'm taking notes!

DH is doing one for his secretary with a book, flavored hot chocolates w/mug, candle and candies. Kinda of a put your feet up and relax idea.

We've done the movie night with Blockbuster certificates, popcorn, pretzel, and candies.

Also a basket of homemade jellies and bread. Soup mixes and bread too.

Keep those ideas coming!
