Ghosts (friendly) in Walt Disney World ?

I believe I read in "Realityland" (the book - excellent behind the scenes WDW book btw) that the George story is legend rather than truth; the book goes into some detail about actual worker accidents and such.

In other words, it's true that CMs believe the story, but it's not true that a worker named George ever died at POTC.

That doesn't mean the haunting is untrue. When people don't understand things it is human nature to attempt to explain it. Thus, the story of George. If there is a supernatural presence, who knows who it really is. Studying the supernatural is not an exact science.

I will be sure to say hello to "George" next time I ride. I figure it can't be a bad thing to do.

I've heard the George story several times. On our last trip I tried saying George 3 times:rotfl: and of course nothing happened. I have read report of people being tapped or having their hair pulled. There was also a story I read quite a while back about the ghost at the haunted mansion. They claimed to have taken a picture near the coffin with the lid going up and down and there was a dark figure in the pic that they did not see while on the ride. The photo is posted somewhere in the masiveness of the internet it's actually really creepy looking. I'll try to find it and post a link. In the meantime go to doombuggies.com click on tales there are tons of stories from cast members and guests. It's fun reading.

Did you find the pic?

Its so quite and dark back there and the scary tower at the side of you does not help at all!

Even that little coffee stand was closed. And the park was very empty. Come to think of it, I love to look at the pictures people post on the DIS when the parks are closed, but to me that's just as creepy. An empty amusement park with the lights still on? :scared1::eek:

i read a review on tripadvisor about 2 years ago saying that some guy woke up at about 2am and saw a woman CM in an old polynesian uniform :rotfl:

i believe it was determined that this was a "story" because the author couldn't find any proof/documentation that the death happened.

So I found a link to what I'm sure was the right pic, however, it was from 2008 and this pic is no longer there. Hopefully I can find it somewhere but it's not looking good.:confused3

I have my own ghost story.

A few summers ago, my family (My mom, my dad, my older brother, and myself) vacationed with my brother's fiancee's family. We were staying at Old Key West in one of the DVC villas.

It was late morning, my dad was out golfing, my mom was in the shower in their bedroom, my brother was watching TV, and I was just getting out of the shower. Us 3 were the only ones in the room, no way anyone else could have gotten in.

I had just finished my shower and the bathroom mirror was fogged up from the steam. I went to go throw something out in the kitchen bathroom, and as I was walking back to the bathroom when I sneezed. I walked back into the bathroom, and "Bless You" was written on the bathroom mirror. There was no way anyone could have snuck into the bathroom after I sneezed and written that. Plus it wasn't like my family's handwriting.

This is not a lie, I'm just thankful I had a friendly ghost, and not an evil one who wrote "die" all over the mirror! :goodvibes

Also, I would like to mention the Haunted Mansion was closed for refurb at the time. I'm guessing all those 999 Happy Haunts had to vacate for the refurb, and they had to go somewhere... ;)

I don't have any stories to share, sorry. I just wanted to say this is a very interesting thread. Looking forward to more stories! :scared1:

Maybe Ghost Adventures should spend the night in lock down in MK,then to ToT the next.... love watching them so I'd definately watch that!
