There was nothing else on a few weeks ago and I watched Ghost Whisperer. I have seen the show before, but never got hooked. Now the other day I watched it and it appears that her husband has died and his soul is in another man's body who does not remember who he is? Is that right?
Previously I had seen an episode where they were trying to have children and it ended up that she just had to take hormone pills and should be able to conceive. I think the episode was about a haunted orphanage - could be the episode was years old, as I said I don't watch that often.

So what is going on with her husband? How did he die, who is this guy's body her husband's soul is in and does he think he can just live in this body now? Anybody a Ghost Whisperer fan?:confused3

Don't worry, in the next season they completely drop that storyline and Jim is back in his regular form. I kind of enjoyed the storyline, but it bugs me that his name badge says Jim Clancy instead of Sam whatever.

I have a love/hate relationship with GW. It has definitely gone downhill in my eyes since Aisha Taylor left.

Here is a previous thread for Ghost Whisperer, in which we discussed it when it all happened.

You can read what we had to say during those episodes. But, most of us stopped watching after Jim died & then he was finally brought back. The show really jumped the shark after that episode and they put us through needless sadness and anger over Jim dying for NOTHING.

Oh man, I cannot stand that show......I've seen it a time or two and it's just so wrong...

Okay, I will check out the official thread - thanks for the link.

I will say that one thing that really bothers me about the show, is that when the ghost tells her what to say to their family member or whomever, she does not always say what they asked her to say. I'd be a really PO'd ghost if she did that to me!

Oh, wait, there was actually an earlier thread from the season that Jim dies. You can follow along on that one & read how the show jerked us around. Then after several episodes, Jim is back to "normal," other than the outer change. He doesn't even remember what it was like being on the other side, so he still can't relate to Melinda talking to ghosts. He's back in the background as usual, after all that. :sad2:

Ghost Whisperer is the only TV show that I watch on a regular basis. I can't wait until they go back to the way it was, that Jim didn't die. BUT if they ever get rid of Cameryn Manheim, they'll lose me for sure!

I watched it a few times but couldn't get into it, even with JLH and all of her deliciousness.

LOL - this is true. She always shortens what the ghost says. I have to say I wasn't happy when Jim died but it's almost as if that is all forgotten. I do like the show though and look forward to watching it.

That show is truely annoying. I gave up when Jim "died" her son freaks me out. And what's with Jamie Kennedy's voice? He doesnt really sound like that. I usually catch the end of the show while I'm getting ready to watch the latest episode of Medium.

I just read on Twitter that Ghost Whisperer has been cancelled along with the New Adventures of Old Christine, it wont be back in the fall.

Drat. We've watched since the beginning. Not in love with the five years later thing and Jim in Sam's body, but like the premise of the show a lot and the characters are mostly pretty likeable.

Now I bet we'll never find out how she defeats the Shinys/Shadows. :(

I think Jennifer Love Hewitt is one of the prettiest Hollywood actresses ever~she is simply gorgeous!

I enjoy watching the show every Friday!

Ellen, I just PMed Bicker to change over his TV Season thread links for GW to this thread. With the season finale coming up this Fri and the announcement of their cancellation today, people may look for a more recent thread to discuss it all, and that is this one. :goodvibes

If this is true you have made me very very happy!!! :)

yes, very sad to see they are canceling it but glad to hear the The WB may be picking it up. We'll have to see what night it's on.

Sorry to report that news came through yesterday from the show's executive producers that no other network has elected to pick-up Ghost Whisperer.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The only shows I watch are Desperate Housewives, Lost and Ghost Whisperer. That just figures that 2 out of the 3 will be gone...

The syndication of Ghost Whisperer, that you are referring to, is actually what a lot of people think contributed to ending the series. Ghost Whisperer's syndication deal actually put the series on three (unrelated) networks (in addition to being first-run on CBS): ION, Syfy, and WE all show Ghost Whisperer in syndication. It seems that there wasn't enough money to be made syndicating the show onto one network, and so the only viable approach was to get a trio of networks to all pay a fraction of what they would have otherwise, to get even close to a reasonable target for the value of the deal.

Neither that the show sold into syndication so poorly, nor that the show is now effectively being overplayed, serve the series well.
