Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I love GH my favorite show,:worship: I would love to see more new episodes as well.
My quick takes of the show:
Brian yes annoying, I liked Donna, and Kris I could take her or leave her. There was/is that other girl I think her name is Kristen???(i think) she grates on my last nerve, something about her gets under my skin. Everybody else is great!
GHI that lead guy, ok really where in the world did they find him?? he just thought he was like the grand pubah or something!:sad2: Yeah he was like watching nails on a chalk board, like I said I like Donna, Brian still annoying and I was never an Andy fan, and that other girl, was it the same girl Kristen?(I dont like from GH) Well if it was or wasnt I didnt like her either way! LOL oh and the irish guy he was alright. I tuned in but it wasnt a favorite show of mine, but I love that kinda stuff so i seen every episode.:rolleyes1

I have a couple of my own ghost stories to share, but I to my friends have to make you wait, I have a sick little one and I have been online way to long and I'm beat~ I will be back to post soon.:flower3:

I read that the guy they chose for the lead in GHI is quite knowledgeable. He appears to be uncomfortable in front of the camera though and maybe a bit stiff and cold because of that?

Isn't the Stanley Hotel the place that inspired Stephen King to write The Shining?

Danalee, I hope that your child gets better soon!

By the way, I love these stories. I've talked to so many people who have had something happen and it seems like most of them were skeptics and just didn't even really think about the paranormal until something happened to them. It's easy to dismiss these things until something happens and then it gets a bit harder.

I've had small things happen that convinced me that there is something we don't understand just yet. No real stories but strange sounds and the like. I'm a practical, unimaginative, technical person so I did quite an about-face when these things happened.

This photo was taken by my co-workers in Elk County, PA. They were in a State Park looking for elk. They came across a very old tree, with a pine bench in front of it. It looked like the oldest tree around them & it was the only tree with a bench. :confused3 don't know what the significance of the bench was. My one co-worker took numerous photos of our other co-worker & her daughter in this same location w/ in seconds of each other. Only one had this 'orb' in it. It to me does not appear to be a flash, there was nothing on her camera lense, it was not raining, windy or humid.

UGGG- I can't figure out how to post the photo. I have it on a disk, any way to post the photo on here??!

:yay: ward helped me too! Not only bright, but huge. Looks too big to be dust or dirt. Cool pic!
Light refraction? Sun spot? Flaw in the film? It looks so different from other pics of that type that I've seen.

I have a story to tell. It’s not that scary, though. I think I posted it a while ago, but I have some updated info.

My family owns a cottage on Lake Ontario. My grandparents bought it about 50 years ago. I’ve been going there with my family for weekends and holidays for as long as I can remember. In the summer of 2003, my mother and I spent many weekends there alone. For some reason, the rest of the family was busy or whatever and couldn’t join us. One morning, I woke up very early, maybe 5 or 6 AM. I heard footsteps go across the kitchen floor, come up the stairs, and then stop at the top of the landing.

At first, I figured that it was my mother coming upstairs to change so she could go to the store to get a newspaper. But, after the footsteps stopped at the top of the stairs, I heard nothing—no movement in any direction. If any living person had been there, I’d have heard something.

When I realized that it wasn’t Mom, I was shocked and amazed—but not really scared. I didn’t scream or hide under the covers. I thought about getting out of bed to go look, but I just didn’t do it for some reason. I think that it was the spirit of my oldest brother. He had died the previous year. He loved coming to the cottage, so I figured he was just coming to say ‘hi’ or something.

I experienced that same thing—footsteps up the stairs—at least one other time that year. At the end of the summer, I mentioned it to my mother. (I hadn’t told her before, because I know she doesn’t believe in stuff like that.) It was really surprising when she told me that she had heard the same thing!

Now here’s the update to my story. I had thought that my mother heard those same footsteps the same year I did (2003). Last summer, I mentioned it to her one day, and I found out that she had heard the footsteps years earlier—when my brother was still alive.

So I don’t know what to think now. If it wasn’t my brother, it could be my father or grandparents. Maybe it was a ghost and not the spirit of a loved one. When I thought it was my brother, I wasn’t scared. But now that I think it could be a stranger, I think I’ll have trouble sleeping there from now on—and I’m going there this weekend!

I like the story. I agree that It's not as scary when you think it might be family.

Here's my only sighting of a ghost:

Shortly after my Nana died, my mom and I were in her basement going through some things. We were standing facing each other and the stairs to the basement were off to the side. I saw something white out of the corner of my eye and turned my head to look. I saw a white mist, tapered at both ends and thick in the middle, floating down the stairs. It was very easy to see because my Nana had crimson red carpet throughout the basement and on the stairs. I sucked in a deep breath and when my mom turned to look - it disappeared. I'm certain it was my grandmother - she had the kind of personality that would want to make itself known, even in the afterlife. Plus, she and I often discussed life after death, and I wonder if she wanted to "show" herself to me. BTW, my mom couldn't talk about it for a long time (she hates anything paranormal), but she recently told me she saw the mist too.

I've only seen that white mist one other time and it was very quick. I saw it float from my daughter's room to my son's. It was shorter than the one I saw coming down her stairs, but it was a white mist - tapered at either end - no mistaking it. Because I saw this, I truly believe my husband saw my Nana that night walking down our catwalk, but, who knows. If I ever saw a ghost as a real person - which has never happened to tnk I would have a heart attack.

Great story breezy.

I got to the part in your story where it says 'floating down the stairs' and my front door made a cracking noise (just settling). :scared1: I jumped about 2 inches out of my chair. :rotfl:

The kids are in bed and DH doesn't get home from work until 11:30 I know better than to read ghost stories right before bedtime, especially since I'm all alone in the living room, but I still do it.

:rotfl2:

I can't watch GH alone, I make DH watch with me. He does it - even though he hates the show.

well it was a digital camera, no 'film' per se, they were in the woods, really not a lot of sunlight or reflections of anything. The strange thing about is the photos taken just before this one & the ones right after it (the photographer changed nothing- was simply 'snapping' away) do not have this ______ whatever in it:confused3

I need to read this thread from the beginning. I've been sooo busy. I know I've promised the ghost lover here a report on my Alcatraz over nighter but I have not had any time to do it. I will, soon, I promise.:)

PADISFAM: I've been a paranormal investigator (among other oddities...LOL!) for several years now and tend to be super skeptical of "orb" pics, but this one has qualities that make me think you really have something!! Very cool!

Preface: I have never seen a ghost or anything of the sort.

A few months ago my family visited one of the "haunted" places that ghost hunters visited. It is now called the Moon River Brewing Company in Savannah, Ga. It used to be an old hotel and residence. The main floor is the bar and dining room, but we were lucky enough to get a private tour of the upper level and basement. It was creepy- but I didn't see anything. When in the basement we were all wandering around and my daughter said- "what is that mist in the corner?"- we all had to walk several steps to reach her viewpoint and by the time we got there it was gone. (Or as I assumed- it had never been there in the 1st place- and it was 12 year old dd's attempt at drama.) There was a weird noise (hissing pipes?) right as we reached the area where my daughter was- but we dismissed it as regular old building noises. The weird thing is- she described it just like breezy's description. She said it was a long column of white mist but fatter in the middle. She said it looked like it was moving from the floor to the ceiling but sort of diagonally across the room.

BTW- I believe that this building was one of the places that GH actually felt there was proof of paranormal activity. You can search 'moon river brewing ghost' on youtube and watch some of that episode.

It's kinda the only way to describe it. Sounds like she saw the same type of thing. Cool story!

If they could go Disney and go to Pirates and Haunted Mansion and investigate??!!! There are always myths about those two places being haunted. I don't think that would happen though, b/c I'm pretty sure Sci-Fi is owned by NBC. But it would be really neat though.:happytv:

I love to watch the show and as lame as it sounds, it has helped me in certain situations when I hear a noise and the house is empty except for me. I now just go in and investigate where the noise is coming from instead of dealing with the fear of not knowing. I know, I am a big chicken. I watch some of these shows when I am alone and am dang near ready to pull the blanket over my head and sleep on the couch. :rotfl:

BEST OF STANLEY HOTEL

I would like to see the guys go to Greenfield Village in Dearborn MI. I heard 20+ years ago that ghosts have been seen in the Cotswold Cottage, it's GFV's oldest home, built in 1620 in Cotswold England. My friend's Dad used to be the head of security there and he's the one who told us about it.

For those of you not familiar with Greenfield village, it is a collection of old houses and buildings from around the U.S. (for the exception of the Cotswold cottage). It's a great lesson in American History. I would recommend if you're ever in the Detroit area to go there. Here's a link: http://www.thehenryford.org/ (sorry if it sounds like I'm their PR person or something, it's just one of my favorite places and I only live about 45 minutes from it now ;) ).
