Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

...Yes, I am a TAPS supporter, though I am not a TAPS family member. I do a bit of investigating of my own but nothing to the extent that TAPS does as I don't have the money to invest into the equipment. I spend quite a bit of my time on their boards with others, both believers and skeptics.

Hi LilyWDW, :wave2:

I do agree with your post ESPECIALLY #4. Brian is a tool and I'm glad he's gone of the regular show.

I too would love to get some equipment and do investigations but I think if I actually found something and it talked to me I'd probably mess my pants. :scared1:

HAHAHA.. sorry I had to laugh at this.

1) Kris has been a friend of the TAPS team for quite awhile before she was asked to join in on the investigations. Considering the numbers they had recently lost (Donna, Brian, Andy, and Dustin) for a variety of reasons, it should be expected that they would have to bring someone in. Plus, really, does it matter what her occupation is? An actress can have just as much investigation skill and just as much curiousity into the paranormal as anyone.

2) You don't see as many house investigations for a multiple of reasons. First, remember they do more investigations then we will ever see on TV and I would bet that many people don't want the whole crew in their homes AND don't want to known as the crazy "haunted" people when the show airs. Second, as the TAPS name has grown, they are being allowed to investigate places with big names and getting new oppertunities. Wright-Patterson anyone?

3) How can GHI have no affiliation with TAPS when it was Jason and Grant who helped put the team together led by a TAPS family member? Also, if it wasn't TAPS why would information on their trips and investigations be on the official web site?

4) I don't care why Brian left, I'm just happy he did. He was dead weight on more then one occasion (like whith his girlfriend situation) and only caused rifts within the TAPS family.

5) Everything I have ever seen on Jason and Grant show them to be great guys with great personalities. They can be very protective of their work, reputation, the team, and their investigations. This I guess can be seen as arrogant but really it's their life long passion.

6) As another poster mentioned, there are groups out there who don't like TAPS due to the light TAPS has shed on the amount of faked evidence out there. Some groups, who may have had people fooled before, are now finding that people are looking closer at their evidence then they would like. This has caused some to just flat out fail, though there are those that seem to just keep bringing us photoshopped evidence.

Thanks for your post. I wasn't sure about Kris so thanks for saying something about that.

The main thing is that TAPS has been doing this for way longer than the show has been on the air. Why would they bother to fake now? I admit that I don't trust SciFi because they obviously want to make the show as "exciting" as possible but their music and dramatic moments and all of the rest just annoys me. I'd prefer silence and a cold sober look at all of it myself.

One more thing, I didn't know that Dustin left. He wasn't on the show on a regular basis so I'd been watching for him. That's too bad.

:thumbsup2 I get a kick out of this show.

Dustin and his wife (? think it's his wife) had a child and he has turned his focus to his family for the time being. He says he still wants to investigate but no where near as often as he used to, so we may see him back here and there.

I was hoping that we would turn this thread into a place where people would relate their paranomal experiences in relation to GH but not exclusive to it. \

Any one got a good story. I love this stuff and because of the variety of things that have happened to me in the past I do belive "they" are out there but i just wonder how many types of "they" there are.

Some times they talk about Shadow People ( do those people live simultaniously with us) they talk about intellegent hauntings, they talk about residual and then they talk about other para normal beings. If it were just returning spirits then I do not think it would be that hard to investigate. In my mind I see like this whole cosmic soup loaded with a bunch of different types of spirits and beings. When they start to get into the really nutty things like werewolves etc then that is where I get off the train...but then again ...who knows.

I liked the show where they put a family in a haunted place and then seperated them to different locations and had to find their way back to each other and then investigate...what was the name??
Tooo spooky...i loved it

Thanks for the details, like I said, I only hear this from different skeptic sites and from their own website. There have been alot of stories where Jason and Grant have been arrogant when they were approached by fans or when they had to choose investigations, and have flaunted their ego somewhat. I just had a problem with one of these:

1) Kris has been a friend of the TAPS team for quite awhile before she was asked to join in on the investigations. Please show me this from an outside source other than the people from Taps. I can't see how she's a friend of Taps when she's been no where near Rhode Island. She's a art/communication major and an actress/photographer who recently appeared in a big movie. This is my problem, because she's using this show to advance her career, while real people have problems with the paranormal. This shows that she cares less about this whole thing. Not to mention, has anyone caught her yawning or sleeping on some of the episodes? If that were Brian or anyone else they would be chewed out.

I would like to know this too. How exactly is she 'good friends' with the taps guys? Looking at her IMDB page, she went to college in NH for 2 years, but she's from MA. If anyone has a link showing her connections with Jason and Grant I'd like to see it.

FTR, What was wrong with Donna? They supposedly got rid of her because she's not cute enough. She's a pretty lady. :confused3 And she seems to have a lot more common sense than Kris too.

I've watched it in the past, but there were hardly any newer episodes on and I don't have time.

I do have a personal experience to share though.

When I was about 6 or 7 (around that age) my mom was working and my 2 older sisters were watching me. (They were 8 & 9 yrs older than I.) One sister was doing dishes and the other was down at the garage in the alley which was detached from the house and a good distane away. My sister who was doing the dishes asked me to put the laundry away upstairs.

I had always had a weird vibe about upstairs. Why? I don't know. It just creeped me out for some reason. Although I protested, she still made me do it. I put the basket on my bed and basically threw the clothes into each persons room. Suddenly I heard a man's voice, plain as day, moaning as if in pain. At first i thought I was hearing something. My bedroom was directly over the kitchen and I could still hear her doing dishes. I looked out my window and saw my sister down in the alley. It wasn't raining or windy out. So I chalked it up to me hearing things or just being freightened.

About 3 mins. later, I heard it again. This time I jumped down a flight of stairs onto the landing (thank goodness they were carperted) screeming, crying and hid in my regular hiding place. My sister was freaked out and came up with the same excuses as me until she realized it wasn't my other sister. She called a a guy friend who lived nearby and together they went through the house with long, sharp knives and found nothing.

I refused to sleep in my room after that. Until I was 12 and we moved to another house I slept on my parents floor. I remember asking my mom if anyone had died in the house and she told me No. After that I guess we didn't discuss it anymore, but I never forgot it.

Fast forward to mid 1990's (this took place in the 70's). We were at my parent's house. They had moved into a new house in 1985. It was Christmas time and somehow we got to talking about my mom's dad. Apparently, my mom had taken care of my dad when he had cancer (she was pregnant with me at the time). He stayed in my room. And my sister said she'd remember him moaning in pain. He died when I was 4 months old.

Well, that explains it. But why me? And was he trying to scare me or something. I mean I remember hearing the sound like he was right in the room with me and it wasn't faint at all. It wasn't really loud...just a normal tone. Also from that...I refuse to live in a house that has already been lived in. Both of my houses we had built and my next one will be too!

Good idea! We can debate the cast and their personalites from now to doomsday (or beyond if J &G are correct). I would much prefer as you would a central place for scary stories AND when they return on 29th people's reactions to the new show.

Thanks Wardfamily

If you do not have time, you can watch it anytime you want and without commercials (well long ones). Go to SciFi and look up the new episodes they are on there in full length the day after it airs.

Good story but it might have been a residual haunting meaning because your GF was in so much pain as he spent time in the room the emotional energy stayed behind. Maybe your fear produced emotional energy which was a catalyst for this to be released.

Just one hint....it makes no difference if you buy a new house or one that has been lived in many spirits are attached to the place not the building and so you could have easily had something happen again if something was tied to the piece of land upon which your house had been built. Some people believe that if you use smudge(which is just sage tied in a tight bundle and burned to produce smoke) and go through all the corners of your house with it while saying a prayer it will cleanse the are. I have not done it but honestly I bought some to cleanse my classroom after we had a very scary student in there giving off negative energy for a whole year:scared1: . I realized I could not burn it b/c I would set off the smoke alarms and THEN how would I explain it?? :rotfl:

Is there NO ONE who has had an experience?? Anyone??? I want to be scared but the more subtle the better. For example, has anyone seen the trailer for The Strangers with Liv Tyler? She is standing in her kitchen with her back turned and the guy with the flower sack mask just slowly appears in the door. It is really scary because it is so over the top and not at all unblievable.

That was Scariest Places on Earth and SciFi recently reran some of those episodes. I always called that a paranormal Survivor type show - can you survive the night in a scary place with the producers trying to freak you out? It was a classier version of MTV's Fear which was also kind of fun if a bit too contrived.

Rumor was that Donna wanted more of an investigator role than a caseworker role and they had a bit of a power struggle. Personally I think that she has a pretty good gig now but that's just me.

As for Kris how does anyone prove that someone is or isn't a friend of someone else's? That one will just have to sit there I guess.

Ok, I'm reading the stories now!

I wondered how that rumor got started that she was an old friend of one of the guys. I thought there might be a website out there somewhere when she was introduced to the show. I don't remember hearing it on any of the episodes.

I'll type out my ghost story tomorrow at work (did you hear that breezy ;) ), it's getting late tonight and I've got to get to bed.
