Ghost Hunters Thread & Personal Ghost Experiences & other Paranormal Talk.

I'm going to post on here, so I can find it tomorrow. I don't personally have an experience but I have a picture of an orb. I'll post it & tell you the story tomorrow. Nighty, night.

I'm looking forward to the picture!:) I've got to get off of these boards too, it's so hard to walk away though.

goodnight all!

Well, I don't know how much of a ghost story this would be considered, but I'll post it anyway. :)
I grew up in the house my great grandparents had built. Many family members lived and died there, and in the early days, wakes were held in the home; family members would be laid out in the front parlor. Of course, I didn't know of any of this stuff until I was a teen.
As a child, I positively hated going upstairs myself. I had a back bedroom, but every time I went upstairs I "always" found myself checking out the front bedroom before entering the hallway; and I never liked going there for any reason.
The worst would be the cats.
We had several throughout the years and they would all sit in the hallway and stare into that front bedroom, like they were watching something, and they would never go in it. If you picked them up and put them in the room, their fir would rise and they would fly out of that room. Yet, at other times, they seemed ok with it. ?? But walking upstairs and seeing one of them sitting there staring intently into that front bedroom would freak me out. Just sitting here writing about it from memory and I am getting goose bumps.
When my mom died, and we had to decide what to do with the house, my DH suggested we move into it, thinking I would like that, but there was no way I would live there with my own family. We sold it.

Fascinating! This type of discomfort seems to be fairly common and I always wonder...

Is there NO ONE who has had an experience?? Anyone??? I want to be scared but the more subtle the better. For example, has anyone seen the trailer for The Strangers with Liv Tyler? She is standing in her kitchen with her back turned and the guy with the flower sack mask just slowly appears in the door. It is really scary because it is so over the top and not at all unblievable.

That commercial just creeps me out. That will be one movie I won't see.

There was a poster on here that was trying to get TAPS to come to her house. Wish I could remember who it was.

This photo was taken by my co-workers in Elk County, PA. They were in a State Park looking for elk. They came across a very old tree, with a pine bench in front of it. It looked like the oldest tree around them & it was the only tree with a bench. :confused3 don't know what the significance of the bench was. My one co-worker took numerous photos of our other co-worker & her daughter in this same location w/ in seconds of each other. Only one had this 'orb' in it. It to me does not appear to be a flash, there was nothing on her camera lense, it was not raining, windy or humid.

UGGG- I can't figure out how to post the photo. I have it on a disk, any way to post the photo on here??!

You have to open a photobucket account (it's free) and upload it onto there.

Here's the story I promised. :goodvibes

This was when I was living in Mikado, (very rural) Michigan in the fall of 1993.

I was living in an old 1 story farm house, it was more of an old cabin that was added on to a few times. This house was out in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road, the nearest neighbor was ½ mile away and there were no street lights around either. The kitchen/dining area measured about 10x20 feet. I was sitting at the dining room area talking to my sister on the phone, it was already dark outside. I’m facing the kitchen sink which has a large window over it, about 4’ wide, it’s at the opposite end of the room from me. All of the sudden a large shadow came out of the wall, just to the left of the window, slowly went across the window and went into the wall on the right side of the window. The paper towel was hanging on the right side of the window and when ‘it’ went into the right side of the wall, the paper towel that was dangling started fluttering like a large wind just came through.

I told my sister what was going on while it was happening.( I guess I was telling her in a very high-pitched excited voice too because she made fun of it for a while after that. ) I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I then informed her I’d be spending the night at her house. She lived about 15 miles away at the time. I couldn’t get my shoes on fast enough to get out of there that night.

This was my first sighting in that house...

Has anyone ever seen the non-fiction book titled “I Never Believed in Ghosts Until…”
Well I totally know what they were talking about with that title now. I always thought it was a bunch of hogwash until I saw it with my own eyes.

Well, I can honestly say that story was worth the wait! Spooky with a capital "S". Thanks, ward. (love the cute ghost btw)

Thanks.

I'm looking forward to others posting their stories. I can't wait to see the pictures too.

I've never actually seen this show, but I've been wanting to for a long time. I'm just never home when it's on. Honestly, I'm a "seeing is believing" type of person and I've never had a paranormal experience for myself, so I'm skeptical, but I love to suspend my disbelief to watch stuff like this.

Me too! I love ghost stories, especially real ones. I can relate to PADISFAM's techno difficulty though ;)

I like this one because they're (Jay and Grant) as skeptical as you. But I think it makes what they find that much more credible

Did anyone watch the Stanley hotel episode(s) The ones with the broken glass, closet door etc.. Those were really good. And in connection to that, my brother had his wedding at the Stanley two weeks before they went there. We talked to various staff there and they told us all of the creepy stuff that happened there. When they showed the episode I was all excited because they were interviewing the same staff we had talked too. I am a skeptic, I mean I think there are ghosts, but I'm not really sure. Not sure if I believe yet, but I'm getting closer. Here is my experience..

So my sister and I had to get our stuff from the bride's room and she gave us the key. We put the key in, and the door wouldn't open and the lights in the hall above us flickered. We tried again two more times and it did the same thing. I said kind of jokingly "Ok, there let us in" and we tried again and the door opened. Faulty wiring I guess.

Didn't think much of that, but then in the basement, the part where they heard footsteps on the stairs, right before the ceremony we were down there getting ready to go upstairs to go down the aisle, I looked back and saw the door to the bathroom swing shut and no one was there. I figured just the wind even though as my sister pointed out, it wasn't windy.

That night during the reception my DH and I took a walk to explore the hotel and on the 4th floor I looked over and there was a doorknob missing from a door. I pointed that out and mentioned we should maybe tell the desk person so they could look into it. Just as I said that there came a noise like a ball bouncing against the wall. We quickly got out of there and told the manager. He kindly went up with us and my sister joined us and he opened the door. It was just a storage room and had a locker and nothing else. He said it must have been a noise from somewhere else. After he left my sister put her finger in the hole and as she did that, she jumped back with a shocked look on her face. She said she felt something touch her finger. I laughed, had my dh do it and he said he didn't feel anything. I laughed again and put my finger in there so I could "scare" my sister. I felt that something. It was like someone ran their cold finger against the length of mine. I got the chills. My sister said "I told you" but my dh thinks I was still "acting like it" to humor my sister. I tell you I couldn't sleep that night.

Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me, but then again maybe I really did encounter some ghosts. :confused3

PADISFAM, I hope you don't mind, I just PM'd you with instructions for photobucket. :thumbsup2

That is why I like the show too. They don't go in to prove there are paranormal activities, they try to disprove them.

They will very rarely say a place is actually haunted. It's almost like it has to be dragged out of them.

Great story milliepie. That episode at the Stanley hotel was a really good one. After we saw it DH said he'd like to go spend the night there someday. I told him he was going on vacation without me. I might go look at the hotel during the day, but there's no way I'd spend the night in it. It would be a waste of money because I know there's no way I'd be able to sleep.:scared:
