Hi.

I am going to try to get GFVs, standard studio, at 7 months for a stay with my 14 month old grandson.

I think the first floor may be good since he could run around in front of the sliding doors if we are sitting outside.

Above being said, where would I want to request? I usually say high floor looking at monorail lol

Thank you.

Email / Chat / Call Member Services. They will put the request in for you. Then when you do online check in leave the requests blank (if you change them it will override what MS puts in),

Yes. Thank you. I do that. Where would I request is my question. Thanks.

We have had first floor facing the monorail and they were great! It was the hallway right off the lobby where the DVC desk is located.

These ones did have a railing which is nice! I will try to find room numbers but I think like 1100s

Thanks. A request for what area?
First floor facing the Monorail. It would be one of the rooms numbered 1105, 1111, or 1129.

I don't think he'll be able to run around since (I think) all of these rooms, even on the first floor, have a railing.

Thank you very much! This is the exact information I was looking for; however, this is the first resort
I have seen where the first floor is closed in and I was hoping to ask for first floor so he could run around.
I would LOVE to have the room numbers, thank you.

Thank you! Also, thank you SO much for the room numbers! Should I just say, first floor facing monorail?
Does it even matter now if first floor if he cannot run around, gggrrrr.

Thank you! I usually get 1-2 bedrooms at GFVs and LOVE the standard view. Where else can you see a monorail
every day!

Thank you!

Even without a large grassy area, there are some real benefits to a ground floor room with a toddler. A few years back we requested high floor and got ground floor. I was disappointed, but after a week in that room (I think it was the left-most circled room in @Nabas 's picture) there were two very clear benefits:

1. no need to wait for the elevator with a stroller. Ground floor is SO much easier with a stroller.
2. You can take the door at the end of the hall to go to the feature pool and kids' play area by the beach. Very convenient and fast.

Those are two things I did not think of and you are correct. My mom will also have a scooter, which she always does on our trips, so we would have to always wait to make sure we were the only ones on the elevator.
I would be disappointed not knowing about the rails and being surprised by them, but now that I know, and like you said,
no elevator and quick walk to/from pool

Thank you!

If you have a scooter *and* stroller, then yes, a ground floor room would be really nice.

Thank you so much! I will request first floor, monorail view and request the room locations that Sandi and Nabas mentioned!

So happy I asked!

Even with a stroller and scooter, VGF isn't that bad on the upper floors. The three elevators always seem to be availible most times of the day. We had a single and double stroller, and a scooter for a couple of trips, and VGF had the best elevator wait times that I remember.

I agree. And plenty of hallway room for scooters. People charge them in the hallways.

Thank you both.
Yes, I love VGF and never seemed to have a problem with the elevators. I'm a little disappointed the first floor doesn't have the non enclosed patios but it is what it is.

Thank you!
