Annual dues is also something you might want to take into consideration. AKV are over a dollar more expensive per point historically than VGF.
If initial buy in cost is no object, I'd buy VGF for the cheaper dues and because it's harder to book if it's not your home resort. As so many more have mentioned, it's easy enough to stay at AKV even if you don't own there.
