Help needed!!

Family of 5 who has stayed at GF last 5 yrs in December and used to grounds, restaurants, etc. didn't get GF AP rate today but does have hold for Boardwalk concierge. 8 nights at GF 3,023 versus Boardwalk concierge at $2,980.

1) Which hotel would you choose?
2) Is Boardwalk a noisy hotel considering close to nighttime activities?
3) Is transportation at BW good?

Any thoughts/comments welcome!!

The Boardwalk Inn

2) Is Boardwalk a noisy hotel considering close to nighttime activities?

The Boardwalk Inn courtyard view is very quiet. On our last stay we had a room just outside the doors to concierge and absolutely loved the view and noise level. There was a hike to the elevators, but not a big problem for us.

3) Is transportation at BW good?

The transportation to Epcot and MGM could not be beat. Coming from MGM could be frustrating at times because the friendship boats stop at the Swan, Dolphin, Beach Club, and Yacht Club before Boardwalk. Several days we had to wait about 10-15 minutes for buses to AK and Magic Kingdom.

Given the proximity to so many restaurants was a definite plus for us. We will be staying concierge for the first time in October, but I have heard great things about it.

I know what you're going through Mike. After many trips to the GF, we're going to take the plunge and try an Epcot resort. We'll be staying at the Yacht Club this time around. I figured that the kids are getting older now and they enjoy Epcot and MGM. We're giving up the monorail convenience of the GF, but now we're within walking distance of two other parks. I think that you're going to enjoy Boardwalk and especially concierge service.

What dates were you looking for at GF? Because when i originally called they said no, but called back and checked night by night and got 8 out of 9 nights for $277 that includes tax.

As someone who just returned from the GF and BW (Villas not Inn though) I'd recommend the BWI hands down!! The action on the BW isn't as intrusive as some people make it out to be, and it's really fun at night. Concierge will be MUCH better, continental breakfast every morning, snacks through out the day, appetizers and desserts in the evening.

Hey MikeD!
Have you thought of Yacht club concierge?? You are going with a family of 5 you may really enjoy the pool!!
You can still walk tover to boardwalk to use the resteraunts ect..
It has the same "ritzy" feel as GF IMHO!! :teeth:
But we really enoy the area!!!
