GF Spa vs. SSR Spa???

SSR Spa gets a better rating from the Unofficial Guide. Even though they are managed by the same company, SSR gets the nod because, among other things, the facility is newer.

My dilemma:

I am staying at Poly. The reservations to the spa are going to be for my then 30-weeks pregnant wife and her 64-year-old mother.

Even if you concede (and you may not) that SSR's Spa is better, does that overcome the length of time to get there from Poly? Also, we plan on doing nothing around Downtown Disney our entire stay (the reason we are staying at the Poly is that we expect our 4-year-old son to want to spend most of his time at MK and some at Epcot).

Any thoughts on this?

I've never been to SSR but I have been to the GF Spa many, many times and enjoyed it every single time. Also, I have read that the lounge/waiting area at SSR is coed, which might be a turnoff for a pregnant woman as well as for her mother
If you are staying at the Poly the GF Spa will be ideal Your wife and MIL will be able to take a lovely walk over to the spa and are sure to have an amazing time. You are correct in assuming that the ease in getting there will be a factor. They will be more relaxed by not having to drive over or take a cab...

Yes, the SSR is a newer facility but the GF Spa got a facelift last summer and looks better than ever

We have done both spas and I prefer the one at SSR. Now, we had massages at both so that's all I could talk about. They were both good but SSR had heated beds. I don't know for sure if GF had any rooms with heated beds or not. This is a great feature.

I think they would enjoy either one just fine. I think if ease of getting there is a factor then they should go to GF
