we want to try a studio at GF or Poly next trip, it will be 2 adults and 3 yr boy.
Which lake view studio has better views of MK and fireworks?
Do the bungalows block the view at Poly?
Is one studio larger then the other?
We go to Poly for dinner every trip and the hotel always seemed mobbed with people.
How are the pools and quick service food?

In May, we did our first night in a GF studio and subsequent nights in a Poly studio. The Poly studio is much larger. The only lake view studios at the Poly are in Morea, I believe. We had one once, but ended up on the first floor so had no real view due to the bungalows. If you have a second or third floor room, I think you should have a good fireworks view. Otherwise, there is very easy fireworks viewing from the walkways or beach.

how difficult is it to book 7 months out at the end of May for either.

I have stayed in both with 2 kids The Poly studio feels much larger, though both were spacious and size would not be an issue for 2 adults and one small child. We have had lagoon views in both resorts and had excellent fireworks views in both. In the poly, we were on the third floor of Moorea. We also like quick service and both have good quick service locations. I would just pick the resort that you like better. You do have a much better chance of getting the poly. The DVC building at GF is beautiful and has a covered walkway to the main building which makes a big difference when it rains. My main issue with the GF studio was the lack of storage and draw space (though with two girls we may have more stuff than you). On my second stay in a GF studio, I brought a hanging shelf organizer for the closet that I got on amazon and it helped.
