Does anyone know when they are going to start selling GF?? :confused3

Robin & Angel "D" :thumbsup2

florida law require the building to be at % complete before sales between (don't remember the exact percentage)

DVC has plenty of inventory of points for sale right now, so there is no need to do a rush job on GF. If they were short on sales inventory, they'd likely try converting a floor of GF to DVC so sales could begin, like they did with AKV. Plus, it is likely cheaper, and better quality work, if they aren't pushing for a fast opening date.

The preview center will open sometime this fall.

Pre-sales will probably start late fall, early winter. I am leaning more towards late fall.

My understanding is that AKL had problems filling rooms so DVC was able to take over a portion of the existing hotel.

How are occupancy rates at GF compared to what there were at AKL when DVC took over the 6th and most of the 5th floor?

DVC hasn't had a new Florida property to sell in a long time. BLT has already been around for several years. I don't see anything comming in the pipeline behind GFV so I think Disney has big plans for the sale of these units. $$$$$$

I can tell you that bcv is 100 percent filled and is looking at that going out another month. Was told by member services it is the most popular DVC location, and also the smallest one.

If they are going to charge about 160per point I don't think many DVC members will add on there at gf until resales
come on the market.

bcv sold out along time ago.

VWL is the smallest DVC location at WDW. think VB is the smallest>

expecting the price of GF to be higher than BLT - BLT is at $160 now - so GF would be $170 or higher - with discounts for members.

With Claire at the helm, I am looking forward to a better construction quality at GFV. Her predecessor cut too many corners at BLT, and it shows (IMHO). Not that I do not love BLT, because I do. Just looking foward to the improvements.

There is a CME (Continuing Medical Education) conference in late December, right after Christmas at the GF. Knowing Disney, sales will be in full swing while all the Docs are there as this would certainly be a target market for GF sales. I am sure they'll be offering deals for those who purchase while they're at the conference.

DH and I are staying at SSR in December - I hope the preview center is open for us to do a tour! I'm almost certain we'll add on, but the price may hold us back...

We will wait about a year after it opens and then buy resale. No way we can afford $160+ per point. But the key is the size of the pool and furniture quality. If its small like BLT and the quality of the furniture is low like BLT (from what we have heard from all the posters), will focus more on BCV. Too bad you cannot swim in the lagoon.

And having worked in healthcare for years...

This is not a good target market LOL!

These docs expect a certain quality at the CME conferences. Since the GF tends to fall short on that scale I can't see them being "enthused" to buy there.

I know docs who vacation at Disney several times a year, but they have no desire/interest in DVC.
