Geyser Point at VWL

Veering a bit off topic now, but it would be a huge leap of faith to have two Sigs at WL. On one hand, with all the "improvements" at WL, that resort has more cachet now than it has had in well over a decade and a half. A brand spanking new Signature with views out on the lake would be a huge draw and likely drive more people to try both AP and WCC. On the other hand, to refit GP would be a huge cost and Disney has shown they don't gamble with money. I don't see it happening; moreover, that would leave just RF as the lone QS at a newly upgraded deluxe resort. Fun to think about though!

As someone unfamiliar with the restaurant industry, I really have no idea as to the differential analysis between profits associated with QS vs Signature. I am of the mind however, that converting GP to signature dining wouldn't affect WL's ability to provide QS as GP really doesn't accomplish much toward that end right now. As far as the cost associated with conversion, I can promise you that it has everything to do potential revenues as they see it, and much less to do with concerns over sunk costs.

We ate here in Dec 2017 and we loved it. We went back a few weeks ago with our last trip and we're disappointed with the changes. In December I had gotten the salad and really enjoyed it. I was hoping to get it again, but it was no longer on the menu. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich instead. It was good, but nothing spectacular. DH had gotten the bison burger in Dec and liked it. He wanted to try something new this time and got the salmon. He was really disappointed in it. We did the grilled chicken for DD. She ate the fries and some of the chicken. I tried the chicken and thought it was really bland and dry. We ordered the grilled cheese for DS (not on the menu). He didn't say anything about it and ate it all so I'm assuming it was good. Our server was pretty slow at coming around. There were several times we needed refills, but she was nowhere to be found. If we eat here again we'll probably just order from the counter and sit out by the water.

We stayed at CCV for 9 nights. Was excited to try GP but didn’t like it and spent the rest of the time that we wanted a bar going to Territory Lounge which we love. The problem with GP was unlike Territory lounge, we had to be seated by a host, given food menus etc, even if we just wanted drinks. We weren’t allowed to pick the seat we wanted. Service was slow.

We just got back from a stay last night and stumbled upon Geyser Point. We LOVED it and will definitely be back! For a QS credit, it is an incredible value - you can choose one of their unique beers or one of their special cocktails on the DDP, too, and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the steak salad and although the menu didn't state it had sunflower seeds in it, when it arrived, I noticed some on top. I told the server my husband is allergic to sunflower seeds and asked if he could please verify whether or not the chef had used them. He went to the kitchen and came back immediately taking my husband's plate and dishes/silverware, and making him a new meal, no questions asked. We truly enjoyed the hour break from the MK here - beautiful views, serene surroundings, and we definitely did not feel as close to the park as we were. It was also a tremendous credit on the DDP - the total for the QS meal was over $40, with the cocktail. They also had fresh salmon on the menu which we will try next time!

Disney food blog posted a review a few months ago. It was their second visit and, like the posters here, felt things had moved in the wrong direction, especially in terms of being able to be seated and order from the skimpier QS menu.

We're visiting in July, and I hope they can turn things back around! Seems like nice location and it would be a shame to let it continue slipping.

That's a fairly damning review given how they normally are amenable to most venues. In short, some food is good but overpriced, and the laid back vibe is gone; thus, not worth making a special trip there. Sad as it has so much potential. . .
