Geyser Point at VWL

I hope they still serve the crab cake sandwich. It was delicious when we were there in October. And I totally agree with everyone else about the view. It is beautiful and relaxing!

We love it there.
DH and I consider it a hidden gem. But I guess no one else does.
It's one of our must do locations every trip.
We make a special trip to WL just to eat there.
I think I've tried everything on the menu over the times we've eaten there and didn't dislike anything.

We really enjoyed our drinks and the burger, didn't enjoy the cheesy brisket item as much, but it was OK. We would consider going back for lunch if we were taking a break from MK.

My Mom & I are going to be staying at WL & arriving early evening, so no reservations anywhere. I had thought we could eat at Geyser Point. My Mom is a celiac - it looks like the grilled chicken salad on the QS menu would work - she also would like the Edamame off the Lounge menu (and drinks!). Are we able to order at the QS window, sit at a table in the Lounge & also order from their menu?

Yes

We ate here twice 2 weeks ago and I thought the food was delicious. The cheesy brisket dip is wonderful and the bison burger was great. We had a party of 9 and every single person said how good their food was. The view can't be beat and the waffle fries were a welcome change after eating those bland Disney fries for days. We stayed at WL so maybe I just loved Geyser Point so much compared to how bleh Roaring Fork was

Gotta say, those waffle fries are darn good, at least every time I've had them.

Most quiet and best place for an adult beverage break away from MK. Food is OK, but, the drinks and the relaxed nature of the place is perfect.

the PERFECT spot for a serious Signature Restaurant.
That never happened, to our great disappointment

1) Alas, they took a perfect opportunity and squandered it.
. . . Money, Money, Money.
. . . Lazy, Lazy, Lazy
2) In my PERSONAL OPINION and that of several other CMs,
. . . they figured "If we build it, the DVC folks will come/patronize overwhelmingly."
. . . and, "Like sheep, they will follow our dictates." (Maybe not as blindly as lemmings, but close.)
. . . I guess DVC members do have a discriminating taste, and are tending to avoid the place, in droves.

A) Hated they razed all the trees and Hidden Springs pool to put up GP, cabins, and new inferior pool
B) Admitted GP was gorgeous once built (still miss the trees)
C) Grudgingly conceded GP was a nice spot with the initial menu and service
D) Annoyed when menu was changed/reduced
E) Further miffed when breakfast offerings went south
F) Totally unsurprised when breakfast became "check with GP each day to see what's offered." Uh, huh.
G) RF was even worse scenario when it reopened after refurbishment
H) Been saying it for awhile now: Disney has lost imagination, settles for "industry standard." They use to BE the standard.

As much as we love WL I've always hated Roaring Fork. Old or new version. But, we are pretty much anti QS in general. There are only 2, maybe 3, property wide, that we will touch.
But, if you haven't tried it, and can pass on the yummy waffle fries some time, try their quinoa grain salad. It's quite unique and really good.

Total agreement. Now? This can be fixed. And it NEEDS fixing....

1) Land volume of GP allows a SIG the size of Narcoossee's. Gut current dog, and fix it. Eat the wasted money.
2) CCV does not have, and never DID have, a real "Common Area". Our dear neighbors got stuck with a Pool Bar, with a rental space.
FIX this. Please? Else the BRV Common Area will become a defacto Shared Resource. With complaints.
3) New GM at WL.... HERE is your opportunity. Go after the BIG problems, and let the Restaurant PROPRIETORS deal with the RESTAURANTS.
Managing Table Noise is NOT YOUR JOB. Not unless you wish to ignore BIG issues, and Manage Tables. Totally possible, if you wish to eliminate about
two layers of Management, and do the day to day job yourself.

I would totally pay $100/per person for a solid signature experience at the GP location. Problem is, I believe it's unreasonable with the presence of Artist Point, which I think already struggles to achieve desired bookings.

Has anyone tried Geyser Point and would you recommend it? Thanks!
We went there for the first time after Moonlight Magic in 2017. It was awesome! Open late and had a great vibe. We enjoyed the NW iced teas after a long park day, then ubered back to AKV. I also bought all the ingredients for the drink at home and have made it on quite a few occasions. It is a nice drink that packs a punch. We did not have any food as it was late. Second time, we went back and had apps at territory lounge inside, which is better anyways, and went back to GP for just drinks. Both times were good, but I am no help with menu.

Veering a bit off topic now, but it would be a huge leap of faith to have two Sigs at WL. On one hand, with all the "improvements" at WL, that resort has more cachet now than it has had in well over a decade and a half. A brand spanking new Signature with views out on the lake would be a huge draw and likely drive more people to try both AP and WCC. On the other hand, to refit GP would be a huge cost and Disney has shown they don't gamble with money. I don't see it happening; moreover, that would leave just RF as the lone QS at a newly upgraded deluxe resort. Fun to think about though!
