We plan on doing DC and the Seaworld parks as well as Universal on our upcoming first trip to Orlando. We're staying on site at Disney at AoA. I've heard about the Lynx buses that run from DTD and the TTC. How early do the buses start running from the resorts to DTD? I don't really want to go from the TTC, especially not for Universal as we already have to catch several buses I think, never mind adding in the monorail too! Has anyone got any experience with the Lynx buses and how long they take to Seaworld and Universal? Are they're any other public transportation options I'm missing? :confused3

We will probably get a cab on our DC day since we want to go their super early. We don't NEED to be at rope-drop for Universal etc but it would be nice. We can'r afford a cab for everyone of our offsite days though, it's not feasible moneywise.

I don't recommend using Lynx to get to US/IoA. Way too convoluted. I have taken the Lynx bus to SW from TTC though. It was really easy to do...bus to MK and then monorail over to the TTC. If you go to DTD, the buses will be further apart early morning. Then, to the best of my knowledge, it's a hike to the Lynx bus stop from the Disney bus stops.
I would take the bus from TTC to SW...when you board the bus, tell the driver you want to get off at SW...they don't automatically stop there!!! It should take about 20-25 mins.
For US/IoA? I would book the Mears shuttle. Cost is $19 pp, r/t. You can arrange your pickup time when you book with them.

I have looked into this too and put a post on a while ago and I have decided to get the Mears Taxi - I remember the Lynx buses being quite slow and I don't want the worry of lots of stops and transfers.

Have fun! :goodvibes

What is the Mears Taxi and is there a website for it?

I'm also interested in doing one day at SW but wasn't sure of the best transportation for the cost.

Especially if you're looking to take a cab one of the times AND with wanting to do Seaworld AND Universal...I would look into renting a car. If you can fit into a compact car (not sure how many in group) - You likely could rent a car for a week for $100 - $140. And I'm guessing the cab alone would be at least $50 - $60 for only ONE way of one of the days.

I just got a good deal on a midsize thru Alamo for end of August for $195 for 11 days. If we could do compact it would have been around $165 - so I would definitely look for deals on this option. We're doing USF too...and staying onsite at USF...so had to change hotels in between - Ended up being such a great deal we're keeping the car for the whole trip and likely saving a couple hundred dollars more by eating offsite here and there.
