I hope this is the right thread to post this on but I was wondering how we would get to some of our PS at different resort restaurants? We will be staying at POFQ (Aug 21-30...1st trip to WDW) and will be departing from there for some of our PS.
So from POFQ how would we get to Ohana's?
Cape May Cafe?
Boma?
Olivia's Cafe?
Chef Mickey's?

From DTD how would we get to 1900 Park Fare?

And if I could bother everyone to anyone one more question. We have a PS for CRT for 9:20 a.m. (is the castle a long walk from the main gates) what time should we try to arrive at the gates for?
Thanks these boards have been so great in helping us plan our 1st trip. I can't wait!!! :bounce: :jumping1: :cool1:

Hi,

Maybe the transporation board?

Anyway, here are my suggestions:

Chef Mickey's: Take bus to MK and then walk or monorail to CR.
Ohana: bus to MK then monorail to the Poly.
DTD to 1900 Park Fare: bus to the GF.

For the other three options, your quickest way would be to take a taxi. Other than that, you'll have to take a bus to DTD or a park, and then change buses to get to the other resort. For Cape May you could also take a bus from POFQ to the Studios and walk or take the boat to the Beach Club from the Studios.

Hope this helps,

Bob

Downtown Disney or the nearest park are your best bets for getting from resort to resort. Depending on the hours of the parks, DTD is always a safe bet for dinnertime transfers.

Just remember to give yourself plenty of time to get from resort to resort. You may get each bus right as you hit the stop or you may have to wait, so give yourself that time. If you get to your destination early you can always enjoy a little 'sightseeing' around the resort.

Thanks everyone. Would one hour before a PS be plenty of time or would we need to leave earlier? :jumping1:

Personally, I'd recommend a cab. Resort to resort travel can be very time consuming.

Buses are supposed to come every 20 minutes. But sometimes they don't. Say you are at POR and you are going to Boma. AK is still open. So you go to the POR bus stop. You just miss a bus and the next one comes 20 minutes later. You take a ten minute ride to the AK and notice the AKL bus pulling out as you pull up. So you wait 20 minutes for another bus, take a five minute ride over to AKL. That's 55 minutes - assuming buses are prompt - and not factoring in any time walking. Getting home, AK will likely be closed, so you'll take a bus from AKL to DTD and transfer back to POR. Once again, it may be 20 minutes or longer between buses.

There is a transportation wizard located here:

But we budget for cabs.

The castle is a five minute walk up Main Street - not far, but you don't want to be rushed doing it. Make enough time to enjoy yourself.

What I always tell people going to other resorts to eat is DO NOT try to go directly from your resort to the other. It just takes too much time. Plan on being in the theme park closest to that resort so it's an easy ride or walk. For the Cape May Cafe you can exit Epcot at the International Gateway, which is near the United Kingdom. The Beach Club (where the Cape May Cafe is located) is a five minute walk from there. You can also boat or walk from the Disney Studios to the Epcot resort area very easily.
If you want to do a direct run I agree with others and suggest a taxi. They are normally waiting outside all the Disney resorts. If one is not there a CM will get one for you right away.
