Wanna play again?

What is your favorite quote?

I have 2...

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body...but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand - glass of wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO~HOO - What a Ride!"

AND

"Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is a Mystery. And today? Today is a Gift, that is why we call it the Present."

mine is jaded due to the PTO garbage I'm currently dealing with, but it is actually a kind of family motto. DH and I say it often.

You need to either lead, follow, or get out of the way

The one at the mattress place is a good one too.
we have plenty of Youth, how about a fountain of Smart?

cheeky one for the kids
M is for Mom, not for Maid

uplifting
There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings

Grant me the patience to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage the change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

I haven't thought about that one...

I usually tell DH..

I'm blonde.. NOT STUPID.. you want Stupid look @ your X!

"Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup." ~feralpeg

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
~Irish Blessing

I always say at work: "It's a great day at the medical center"
It usually gets everyone going

Cindy

AWM- My mom was off the boat Irish, and I did that as a x-stitch for her when I was in college. She always loved that blessing...

Now, my Irish grandmother used to say "May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead" Wow, I haven't thought of that one in years!!

I am a big fan of Eleanor Roosevelt quotes. My favorite is "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

I also like my aunt's advice "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." :lmao:

Mine is in my tag: "If I close my mind in fear, please pry it open"

It's from a Metallica song and it's always resonated with me.

I also use one of my mom's a lot: "Cold nose - warm heart"

I am always saying "Too Bad so Sad" at work so much that some of the guys have picked up on it.

I love some of the ones you all have. They are great.

AWM beat me to it but it's one of our family favs!

I have quite a few--for different occasions!! ;)

Probably my favorite is "You better get to gettin'". I've been addicted to "Clean House" on Style, and that's Niecy's get-people-motivated phrase. DH & I say it all the time--for some reason, it really does get me moving! :)

aroyer, I love that Eleanor Roosevelt quote!

Another favorite of mine is "People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." :)

And my last one is "Worry looks around, Faith looks up." I sometimes have a hard time focusing on that, but it helps me remember!

I love everyone's quotes!!

DH swears that "Too bad, so sad" is my family motto! :lmao:

Here are some of my faves - I don't know the authors:

Well behaved women rarely make history. :rolleyes1

If you're looking for me, I just left.

Put on your big girl britches and deal with it.

When faced with an iceberg, make ice cubes.

I"m enjoying this thread, even if I'm late joining in the fun!

I have a couple of sports ones and a couple of life lessons:

You can't control your ability, but you can control your level of effort.
James Blake

Don't worry about winning every match or your regional ranking----just worried about getting better.
James Blake

You just have to decide if you’re a Tigger or an Eeyore.
Randy Pausch

I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them.
Jane Austen

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
Walt Disney

Really funny... I say some of those things too...

'Time to put on your big girl panties and deal with it'

The Walt one I've said to the kids...forgot that one...

And the one in my siggie about the Bloody Mary's, how can I forget that one?

I found this last night in PJ's basketball book.

"Your talent is what God put in before you were born.
Your skills are what you put in yesterday.
Commitment is what you must put in today in order to make today
your masterpiece and make tomorrow a success"

There were several more but she has to catch the bus and take the binder with her....
