I'm a stay-at-home mom with a 14 y.o. son and a 13 y.o. daughter. I've been married for what seems like forever, lol...18 years, and we live in the Western NY State area.

I like to tear my house apart, and then fix it up again.

I really enjoy interior decorating, website design, all kinds of music, reality tv shows, word games, and shopping (especially for clothes!)

I was a medic on an ambulance for 11 years, but am a stay at home grandma now. My two sons are in the Air force, the oldest just got back from Kuwait and Iraq. My nickname is Pokie, not because I'm slow, but because I,m Indian.(short for Pocahontas).

Thanks, Pokie

We have 2 kids Moira who will be 6 on August 27th and starting Kindergarten on August 14th....Elliot just turned 1 on July 9th. I used to work with dolphins and now enjoy staying at home with my kids. I recently started a business as well as do graphic arts and web design from home. I play the drums and enjoy all kinds of music. I love to go to garage sales and I'm addicted to eBay.

Oh and...

I love Disney! :)

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!! :) :)

Hello everyone. I'm Suzanne and I'm 27 years old. I'll celebrate my 28th b-day and the New Year (Not on the same day) on the Magic this year. I'm addicted to Disney and DCL. I found the Dis researching for our cruise last year and have been addicted since. I'm not married and have a wonderful 4 yr old daughter, Brianna. I'm a 6th grade Language Art's teacher. Living only an hour away from WDW, I've been there well over 500 times. Brianna has literally grown up there. Love reading, scrapebooking, Disboarding (I think I just make up that verb:p ) gardening, learning about history and anything else that seems like fun!

I'm Karen, and I'm from Medford, MA. I'm the youngest of six kids in a very close-knit family. I am the loving (and favorite) aunt of six fantastic nieces and nephews who I love and adore to no ends. I work as a Records Coordinator at the top intellectual property law firm in the country.

Pretty much everyone in my family (including many aunts, uncles, and cousins) are Disney addicts, but none are quite as addicted with me. I heard about the DIS from PandyPaws after chatting with her while waiting in line for the Rock 'n Roller Coaster in December.

When I'm not going to or talking about Disney, I love to travel, go to the theatre, and spend time with my family (especially my nieces and nephews). I also love to write--I hope to write a novel someday, but lack the motivation to get working on it right now. Like CamColt, I am also a Boston Bruins fan (Hey, CamColt, is your son named after Cam Neely?), and I'm also a Vancouver Canucks (and Trevor Linden) fan. One of the happiest days of my life was the day I met Bobby Orr.

So that's enough about me. Who's next?

Hi! I'm Jenn and I'm 28. I've been married to Michael- age 32, since 1997. We don't have any human kids, but we're parents to 2 beagles - 5yr old Roswell and 3yr old Mr Peabody.

I'm currently a "wall jockey" - I work in a Network Operations Center. We monitor the WAN (frame) side of some pretty major networks. I'm also a part time student - majoring in history.
I'm originally from North Attleboro, MA. My parents live in Attleboro, MA, and my DH and I just bought a house last year 20min away and over the border in Northern Rhode Island. Fortunately, the in-laws are 1300 miles away -in New Port Richey, FL :p

I love to read , watch movies, and hang out with friends and family. I love to laugh at my silly beagles and their antics. And since we now live in a 1940 cape style house that has a lot of character but not the most thought was taken in its improvements by the 2 previous owners, we spend most of our time at Home Depot or trying to figure out which project we should tackle next.

Hi. In real life, I am Melissa. Some of my friends call me Missy. Lots of folks here call me Merry and I like that one, too. I answer to all of these names, so you can choose the one you like the best. I'm 42. I've been married to Allen for 19 years and we have 2 children. DS is 16 (he just started driving) and DD is 12 (she is a dancer). We also have 2 bichons named Sasha and Holly, a black cat named Cricket and a chow/spaniel mix named Buddy.

I taught elementary school and preschool before I had children. I quit to be a SAHM and never went back. For a while I ran a children's consignment sale. Now I sell things on Ebay in my spare time. DH works in IT and is going to lose his job in the spring. Not many jobs in our area in his field, at least at his current pay, so who knows what will happen then. I don't like to think about it.

I'm a breast cancer survivor. I've been cancer free for two years in September. I love to laugh. My kids like that I even have a sense of humor about cancer. I'm a positive thinker and like to help others who are hurting. I often spend time on threads asking for prayers and pixie dust. Maybe I think I am actually Tinkerbell in disguise, but helping others in some small way makes my day better. I feel like God allowed me to live for a reason, so I don't want to blow it. LOL!

My hobbies include scrapbooking, needlework, and reading. I spend a lot of time on the DIS and I can often be found hanging out with Bernie's Angels. We live in Norman, OK, so I like Sooners football, and I'm originally from Kansas City so I like the KC Royals. My kids are involved in school bands, so I look forward to watching my son start marching band this year. Guess I'll be going to a lot of high school football games.

I've always loved Disney. We go every few years, so we finally decided it made sense to buy DVC. We went on our first Disney cruise in 2001 and God-willing we'll be going again in 2004. We plan to celebrate an early 20th anniversary on the ship. I've been to several DIS meets and find it loads of fun to meet other Disney-lovers.

Hi Everyone, I'm June and I think I must be the senior of this group. I'm 61 and from Terre Haute, In (Hi Pokie, I hadn't seen anyone else from here on the boards).

My husband and I will be married 44 years this Sept. We have 2 adult children, a boy and a girl, and 5 GC. I have been retired 4 years and we bought DVC after retirement. We spent 37 days at DW this past year--a little long for even me but it was fun. We try to take the GC too (it's been averaging every 18 months). Besides DW our other love is Sanibel Island. We've been going there for 30 years and now that we are retired we can spend more time there.

I don't have any real hobbies. I belong to a CSA program here.
This is a Community Supported Agriculture program with organic vegetables and fruits. I'm a pretty good cook and in the summer I get pretty creative with these fruits and veggies.

Spend a lot of time doing things with my 3 GC that live about 100 miles from me. Don't see the other 2 that often.

Very nice, Pum, we need these every so often.

Dan here, just turned 59 a few days ago. Married to Marie (Lady M here on the DIS) for almost 32 years, 9/11/71. We have two children, Natalie, 22, college, and Vince, 25, firefighter/paramedic. Both still home. And Vince's Rotteiler, Doc, also is home with us.

Marie is a SAHM, I am a financial planner, 27 years. We have both lived in the Chicago area all our lives, same house since we have been married.

Marie enjoys gardening, reading, home projects and I think shopping; I enjoy photography, reading, computers/Net surfing and travel.

I made a solo trip to DL back in '68 while single and visiting a buddy in LA, and we, as a family, went to DL in '92 while on a CA vacation. But the "Disney bug' did not bite me until a business convention took me to WDW in early '98. I was definately bitten and smitten. :)

After I postponed a WDW trip to celebrate Marie's remission from breast cancer, I found the DIS in early '99 and we all went for our first and only family WDW trip in December of '99. Since then I have had 9 more solo trips to WDW and 2 to DL, and look to return in December this year. Everyone is always invited, but they don't have the 'Disney bug' as bad as dad and hubby does.

Been to lots of DIS meets, have met literally several hundred DIS'ers around the country at these meets, fun they are, good people. As Merry said about herself above, I too enjoy helping people here on the DIS in whatever way I can. Brings a smile. After a bit more than a two year stint as a moderator here on the CB, I am enjoying my DIS retirement and benefits. ;)

I do thank Disney in general and the DIS in specific for introducing me to quite a number of people whom I consider life-long, real-life friends, and to the DIS boards themselves. And Lady M has likewise enjoyed meeting quite a number of folks from here over the past year or so.

Thanks again, Marie (Pumba), for starting this thread, always nice to meet everyone.

Hi everyone, my name is Catherine, I am 43, married to Edward for 15 years. We have 2 DDs Caitlin who is 9.5 and Zoë who is 5.5. We also have 2 labs Snuffles and Ly.

We are an Anglo/American family Edward and Caitlin are American citizens, born in US. Zoë is an American citizen born in UK and I am a Brit. We currently live in a place called Chorley, it is in Lancashire, which is located in the North of England. We are hoping to relocate to CA, probably San Diego, within the next couple of years.

I am a SAHM, but I am hoping to return to the workplace soon. I am a Health Promotion Specialist and I have been accepted to start a Masters programme in Child health and Social Care, which starts in Sept.

I love the Dis. and anything Disney. The first taste of Disney was when I went to DL for my honeymoon way back when and I was bitten by the bug. I have my DH to thank for that. Since we live over the pond it is a little more difficult to get to WDW, but we are really looking forward to our trip in Dec.

Hi everyone!
My name is Olga, I am 39 years old and I know how old Snoopy is ;) . I am from Spain but I have been living in the USA for the last 15.5 years. I have been married to my husband William for 14 years and we have two beatiful daughters, Sonya age 10 and Rebecca age 6, they keep us busy.
I enjoy Disney more than my kids do , and believe me they love Disney , but I'm worse than them. DH pretends he's the one who doesn't like it , but he's the first one to say when are we going again?
We live in the Pocono Mountains of PA, we like it here but the winters are long.
My passion has always been learning foreign languages , I can speak Catalan ( my mother tongue ) , Spanish , Italian and French fluently , I was able to speak more German when I was a kid thanks to spending my summers with my uncle who was German , but since he died I have not practiced much and I have forgotten quite a bit. I also enjoy traveling , making friends, and my computer, don't mess up with it if you want to be my friend!
I'm a SAHM for now, but next month I will be working in my kid's school district so I can work while they are in school and be home when they are home.
Who is next?

Hi all :) I'm Elaine. I am 26 and have been married to my husband Luis (coqui) for not quite 3 years now. We have no kids, but 2 funny kitties. I am the Disney freak of the family thanks to the help of my mom who planned our family trips to WDW since I was 5 years old. My last trip was in May/June and I have another one planned in December.

I work in the telecom industry which I find interesting, and have since I graduated from college. I love computers as well as read a lot about family relationships/communication. I spend most of my time either reading studies about that type of communication or play on my computer :)

I'm Doreen and I'm a Disney addict......

I'm 39 and hubby Todd is 41 - we've been married for 18 wonderful years. Our two bunchkins are son Chris, 15 and daughter Stephanie - VERY 13!! We are all owned by our 2 year old dachshund, Maya.

Home is close to Hershey PA and practically always smells like chocolate or baking brownies - makes it tough to diet!

We've been going to WDW at least once a year since '92 and finally bought into DVC in '02. We love our long vacations at the Beach Club Villas - were there for 2 weeks in July.

I work in IT and hubby works in commercial construction sales/estimating. It is our dream to retire, move close to WDW and work part-time for the Mouse where we can smile, be pleasant and talk to lots of different guests each day.

This is a great thread and I'm enjoying getting to know all you other DISers!

Hi. My name is Shannon and I'm a Disneyholic.:o I'm 33 yo. I'm a woman.;) I have 1 SO (we've been together 14 years, we both agree it seems like 2000 years;)), I have 1 dd (she's 10 yo), 1 ds (he's 7 yo), 1 six months old Pomeranian puppy (he thinks he's king of the castle;)). I don't hunt. If I have a gun, I have some Barney Fife tendencies, or atleast feel like I do. I'm a good cook, but I do tend to burn myself often.:o I'm a HUGE I Love Lucy fan (I've also been told by many people I have Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo tendencies-minus the wanting to be an actress). I live in Georgia, and have for 33 1/2 years. I've been DIS'ing for almost 3 years now. Prior to that, I was a regular at the local library (I'd read 7-15 books a week, usually trashy romance novels). Most important of all, in a few months, I'm going to the best place in the world (aka WDW:bounce: ).

Hi everyone- I'm Paula - 45 - and as you can see by my user name I am from Rhode Island. DH and I have been married 23 yrs and live in the same rural town (northwest corner) that we both grew up in. We have 2 children - Alyssa 16 and Christopher 14 , a cat Fluffy and a dog -Casey (shepard mix).
I work for a 24 hour retail maintenance company and am happy to say that I have the priveledge of work evenings from home - I supervise a staff of 6. DH works for a Civil Engineering firm and DD works at our town's animal shelter.
I found DIS when planning for our 2000 trip. I have been to WDW 6 times: 1971 (Mom & Dad's 25th Anniversary) - 1974 (with HS band) - 1978 (with college friends) - 1981 (with DH who will never drive to FL again!!) - 2000 (family trip - AS Sports) - 2003 (family trip AS Music). I really enjoy the DIS - have become addicted to exchanges and hsve recently joined WISH.
When not on the computer I enjoy reading (mostly mysteries), baking and counted cross stitch.

Hi,

My name is Pat and I think this is neat! Are Dan and I the only males here?

I'm a private IS consultant specializing in database creation and trouble-shooting for small publishers. I'm married to Amy, who's a fantastic person I'm glad I met. She's a biologist for the US government in charge of wetland permitting for Northeast Pennsylvania. We were married in 1993 and are expecting our first child in about, oh-my-gosh, four weeks. I found the CB about three months ago when Amy's pregnancy took a southern turn, and I think the folks here are great. We live in State College, PA, home of the Nittany Lions, and we're never leaving, I swear Amy. Go Big Blue.

I went to Orlando in 1981 for my senior class trip and haven't stopped going to WDW since. Although Amy refused my request to spend our 1993 honeymoon in Disney, I went through with the marriage. It took another five years, but I finally drew her into my obsession. Amy and normally take a trip together each year, and I attend a conference each June that takes me to the Swan and some wonderful alone time in Epcot, something I highly suggest trying.

Although Amy pregnancy difficulties caused us to cancel both our trips this year, mother and future daughter are doing fine, and we intend to march our little Kimberly down Mainstreet sometime around our 11th Anniversary on May 8, 2004.

When not working, planning Disney trips, or engaging in the same, I enjoy running, biking, classic rock, and spending time with the world's greatest wife. We're both hard core Tour de France fans, yeah Lance! I'm also a heck of a cook, just ask Amy. Once everything settles down and Amy returns to work on January 2, I plan on curtailing my consulting business and being the rare stay at home dad. May God have mercy.

Pat

My name is Kim and I am 35 years old. I am a COMPLETE disneyaholic. Anything Disney makes me happy!
I am sort of a SAHM. I watch 2 other children during the day-they are both my friends kids. I used to watch more but am VERY content with just the 2 now!! I have 1 Ds(A.J.- he's 4 1/2) and another one due in less than 10 weeks! I have been married to Dh(Anthony) for 7 years but we have been together for over 15. Dh is a psych RN which is how he deals with me so well!LOL He's a great guy and we love him to death even though he doesn't love WDW like us!!!! I've had many careers in my years including cosmotologist, waitress/bartender, travel agent, and have been watching children for most of the past 12 years. I'm hoping to work from home for a Disney exclusive travel agency after the birth of my next child-it's in the works!!!! Can't think of a better job than helping others plan their "dream" vacation. Anyone who knows me(family, friends) come to me when planning their WDW trips. Our next short trip to WDW hopefully will be in March. We've been every year for the past 3 years and have lots of wonderful memories!!
next....

I started biking about 6 years ago, I belong to a bike club that has scheduled group rides and I try to go on 1 or 2 a week.
I also love gardening, working out at the gym, reading, sewing, (made 4 quilts over the winter)Disney and the beach. I Love to Cook, I Love to Bake and I Love Christmas!! I Love to go crazy baking at Christmas and I usually do!
