Getting to Epcot Main Entrance from BWI

I know that by staying at the BWI we can enter Epcot thru the International Gateway, which we will use many times during our stay. I would like to know how to get to the main gate at Epcot from BWI. I would like to do this to ride Mission Space and Test Trak. When we get to these attractions from the 'back door' the lines are already soo long :earseek: . Any advice how to do this, short of using a car?

Isn't there a bus from BWI to the main entrance at Epcot? You could drive, or (this is a really roundabout way) you could take the bus to TTC and take the monorail to the main entrance. Anybody else have a more efficient way? :earsboy:

I think I read somewhere, maybe on the BWI information thread, that they allow you in through World Showcase before they allow people in through the main entrance, so everyone gets there at about the same time

there is NO bus from any EpCot resort to the front of EpCot

Right, there are no buses from the Epcot resorts to the front of Epcot.

We were at the IG a few weeks ago and they did not open at 9:00. More like 9:03 or so....one of the security guards was chatting with the people at the turnstiles and the security lines didn't open until she was finished with her chat. :confused3

The resort buses do not go to the TTC. They go directly to the MK.You could go there and transfer to the TTC and then take the monorail. Or you could walk to MGM and take the Epcot bus. Don't know how early the park to park buses start though. Tyler on the transportation board could help you.

But if you can't drive or simply don't want to, I'd just go ahead and walk from the IG. With fast passes, you will probably save time over all the other machinations in the final analysis.

Yup, no buses to Epcot from the Epcot resort area. We found this out the hard way...it's 8pm...dd is tired and cranky and we are at the front of the park....head out to the buses....search for a bus to BC.....only to realize there are none. By the time we made it back to BC we were all tired and cranky:scared:.

If you have an early tour and need to be at guest services say by 8:15am will there be someone at the IG to let you in? If not, how do you get from BWV to your tour?

Yes, for tours or the Princess breakfast, you will be able to get in eraly at the IG. Haven't done it myself but a number of people have posted that they have.

About 11 last night, yes Disney is constantly on my mind :earsboy:, I came up with another plan. The day MK has early entry, I tend not to use ee as the other parks are less crowed, IMHO, and than grab the monoral from there to Epcot. Yes, I think this will work!

The answer can be found in the title of a book, "run, baby, run."

Yes, you could do that. I explained that route in my first post. But do you really want to go through all of that? ;)

You would wait for the MK bus, ride and then have to take the monorail or ferry from the MK to the TTC. Then you would still need to take the Epcot monorail. I love the monorails and ferries but I think I would enjoy another 45 minutes or hour of sleep even more. :sunny:

But have fun! :cool1:

People going on the Backstage Magic tour meet outside the main entrance of EPCOT. A park pass is not required for the tour. I was told they would either give you a taxi voucher or allow you to pass through the International Gateway if you weren't going to be using a park pass that day. I wound up buying an AP so I didn't have to go that route.

Never stayed at a MK resort. Didn't realize it would take two monorails to get to Epcot. The more I think of it, I will be doing enough walking as it is. Fastpass it will be!

Although WS will be closed, where you enter from BWI into EPCOT opens when the park opens. If I recall correctly they have ropes up to keep you from turning right towards France and Morocco and Japan and to guide you towards FW. Actually, since you come in between France and England, it's not that long a walk over to Mission Space and Test Track. You shouldn't have any trouble getting in and over to them in good time to ride without problems.

I would look into the cost of a cab it it's real important to you. :earsboy:

You will find that the lines to enter Epcot through the main gate are much more of a hassle than at the other parks because of the way they have the security set up (unless it's changed since my January visit). Everyone enters the same line(s) whether or not you have a bag to be checked. It makes it much more congested and time-consuming. Try it just once and you'll be SO glad you can use the IG!!
