Getting to and from Catholic church?

My wife and I have attended 9:30am mass at Mary, Queen of the Universe the last two trips we have gone. We take a cab, once from Coronado Springs, the other time from the Polynesian. Give yourself a hour to travel to the church. The cab ride was actually 30 minutes but we like to give ourselves some time to get settled in before the mass starts. It cost us approximately $25 each way.

Is this true, does it take 30 minutes to get to Mass. I printed out directions from OKW to MQU and google map estimated 11 - 14 minutes. I was planning to leave at 9:00 am for the 9:30 Mass??? Will I be able to get there in time? Thanks.

I never knew people went to church on vacation!

Well, judging by the amount of people at MQU last week, LOTS of people go to church on vacation. It was SRO at the the 11:30 mass - make sure you leave extra time to get there because it gets backed up at the lights on the main road getting to the Shrine. Lots of people were walking in after mass started. And yes, we had to introduce ourselves to the people around us and yes, we got the speech about being generous in the donations and the history of the Shrine. I also wish they had the mass right at Disney as we are usually without a car and have to spend $40+ to get to/from the Shrine. But, hey, if we are lucky enough to be at WDW, we can certainly spend a little of our time/money to give thanks for that!

We always go to the Saturday night 6pm mass... I think we had the car pick us up at 5:15 this trip... the grounds are lovely and the gift shop is very pretty - and there is even a small museum. So, I'd plan maybe leaving at 8:45 for the 9am mass.

Traffic can be pretty crazy sometimes. Yes it took the cab driver approximately 30 minutes. We also like to get to church early. We hate to rush or be late. Now this was from the Polynesian and from Coronado Springs. It could be less or more depending on where you are coming from.
