Getting super frustrated...

To me it sounds like your TA has booked your hotel but not purchased your tickets yet. Could it be they are holding the ticket money to earn interest on it and waiting to purchase the tickets closer to the 30 day mark?

Can you cancel the tickets and just purchase them yourself? You can buy from Disney directly or from a 3rd party retailer like Undercover Tourist. You would have the tickets (or ticket number) either immediately or within a week.

they told me that disney would be "releasing" our tickets "on or around march 7" and then we would have the confirmation number. when i spoke with the CM, i gave every single string of numbers i could find on the email invoice/etc i received from the TA and nothing was the right one lol.

just as an update...i called again (after i sent a somewhat snarky email last night) and first they told me that i could get a refund for the tickets and they could rebook in some other way that would allow the confirmation to be instantly provided. i wasnt about to let them charge another $600+ to my card, so i may or may not have thrown a small fit....then suddenly they didnt have to do the recharge & i will have my ticket numbers today. i havent gotten them yet, but i feel like i am closer to a solution.

...i will be booking on my own from now on

Dang, that's frustrating. Hope you get your numbers prior to 30 days out. Is the TA local? Maybe a drive over the business would help.

This is one reason why I setup reservations directly through Disney.

YESSSSS I just got them & they successfully linked to MDE!!!! So excited...now to wait another 26 more days until I can make FP selections thanks for listening to me freak out for a few hours!!!!!

Since it got turned around so fast I'm guessing it was exactly what the previous poster said, they didn't actually book your tickets yet and were waiting to hold the money and get interest as long as possible before buying them. When you complained they decided fine they will just buy them now and did that this morning and got your numbers.

Just to make you feel a bit better - we're also going to WDW the week after Easter, and looking at crowd calendars, it actually looks like it will be a very pleasant week. Starting on Easter itself, I'm seeing 6/10, 8/10, 7/10, 7/10, 6/10, 6/10 - not really that bad!

Our traveling companions last summer had some problems with their booking with a TA. I always book through Dreams Unlimited and love their service. My DH and I will arrive April 12 for 4 days. I made my FP+s today. Everything was available at all times of the day. Maybe you won't have difficulty getting what you want.

we had something similar happen to us in Oct 13 when fast pass + was being tested. I used travelocity for our room and tickets (special deal kind of thing) anyway- because it was booked through a third party, I could not get out ticket #s or confirmation numbers either until a couple of weeks before the reservation. Called travelocity numerous times. called Disney and our resort- no go. Even then I couldn't get the ticket/magicband numbers until we checked in. At that time it was no big deal because it was a test but now with the way fp+ is booked I will never buy from a 3rd party unless I can get the tickets in hand before the window.

Its good to hear that everything is back to working for you. Sharing this experience is also very helpful to others who are thinking of booking through a TA. I had a question, Did going through Liberty Travel give you any discounts or extra's? We've always booked direct with hotels or Disney when on-site. The one time we tried to use AAA travel the price was the same but we would not have the control of the reservation. What was the gain in having the TA book it?

originally we wanted to go through costco but the hotel we wanted to stay at had no more availability...i thought about doing a hotwire room, but was too nervous not knowing what i was getting.

we got an extra day on our disney tickets for no extra charge, and the room was a wholesale rate so we didnt save that much, but enough that i felt ok with it. i was getting antsy to book everything because i felt like we were running out of time...looking back on it, i feel like i settled just to get it done. next time around i am definitely going to buy my tickets directly from Disney to avoid this.

i saw those too! i am hoping they are right! however, i work right next to times square in NYC, so i am used to insane crowds. i am hoping it wont be too much of a shock to me either way, i am definitely ready for the warmth and fun (and mickey ice cream!)

hopefully in a couple of weeks there will still be a few good things left! we arent huge ride people and not very interested in princesses, so i think we have a good shot of getting the things we actually want to do. biggest hope right now is that someone cancels a BOG dinner rez one of the nights we are there so we can experience that...fingers crossed!

Keep stalking the reservations site and subscribe to the Cancelled ADR thread on the restaurant board here for the month you're going. Maybe you can coordinate with someone who is cancelling and get their reservation.
