Check in is in 24 days!!! (I'm so excited)

I did the online check-in and checked the box where I want the hotel to text when my room is available.
Who has used this before? Roughly what time did you get the text? We will be arriving by car around 3pm so didn't know if we would get assigned a room by then.

Also, if this is the case, do I just by pass the front desk completely and take my stuff directly to my room? Or do I need to stop at the front desk to have my tickets/room key info, dining plan, etc made active on my magic bands?

I've gotten the text around 11 AM and gone directly to my room.

I have used it 3 times. Texts came at 12 PM (AOA), 4 PM (AKV Kidani) and 5:30 pm (BWV). Pop Century didn't work, I didn't get a text at all so I had to visit the desk. They don't know why it didn't work but they said the phone number wasn't registered as "mobile," possibly because it had been an Orbitz reservation. Although I don't think you can count on them coming at a certain time.

If you have done the online check-in everything should already be active on your bands. You are supposed to be able to completely bypass the front desk. It always worked for me but I have an AP and no dining plan so there really isn't anything else to activate.

I did a 4 resort stay last month. Each morning I first received a text that said that my room wasn't quite ready yet usually between 10am and noon. Then I was texted the exact room number between 1 and 3pm. At Saratoga Springs our room seemed pretty far away from the main building so I stopped there first to ask if we could borrow a wheelchair for my Mom. The agent moved us to a room in the Springs section which was much closer than our original room.

I read really early reports that if your room is ready before you actually arrive, you won't receive the text until they know you are, in fact, on property. They know this when you either are at parking lot gate or board DME.

I've read other posts where arriving guests received the "room ready" text as soon as their plane landed and they turned on their phones (before checking in at DME).

I've done online check-in three times in the last year and never received a text. At CSR in June, there was a CM with an iPad assisting those who had done the online check in. She was able to pull up my name right away, give us the welcome packet, and let us go to our rooms without waiting in the regular line.

This was not our experience. We received a text with the room number while we were waiting for our flight in our home airport. We were able to check the room location on the resort map before we boarded our flight to MCO.

I received a text while waiting to board my plane. I told them when my plane was landing when I did online check-in, so I think they just let you know when they know.

Our texts arrived between noon and 2 p.m. We went directly to our room without stopping at the front desk.

We've received our texts at various times. For a Pop Century post-midnight arrival, we received the text that morning before we even left our house for the airport! For BWI, we received the text when our plane landed around 1pm. For Poly CL and BC CL 9am arrivals, we received the text while sitting at the CL desk for check-in. For our WL CL 9am arrival, we ate breakfast in the lounge and our "room ready" text arrived by 9:30am. For GF RPC, we never received the text. We checked in around noon and a CM took us directly to our room.

Got it 10 minutes before my stated arrival time. Knew where it was located so went straight to room, unpacked and then to the parks. Never saw front lobby.

Not true. I got two of the three texts I've received while at home before even going to the airport (taking late flights). The third I was moving over from Universal and got the text there, unless they've fixed it so they can tell you are at Universal.

This was my experience. Landed at MCO and got off the plane around 3 pm, turned on my phone, text came in at once with my room number. Now it was 3 pm, so I don't know how early it was ready, but I was nowhere near DME (I actually went to the MCO food court and ate lunch before going to DME).

We used this back in May. Our flight landed at 830 and i had a text with my room number around 9am. We went straight to our room. We had to switch rooms after that due to receiving a dirty room. (Bummer) With in seconds of calling we had a new room number and were off to breakfast all before 10. I like this option and will use it again in October.

You went straight to your with getting a card to enter? How does that work?

In my case i had a magic band. The band is programmed to unlock your room. If you have your magic band prior to arrival and select the text room number option, you can go straight to your room.

I should rephrase... if it's before 3pm and they have confirmation you are onsite, reports say the text will trigger at that point. If it's after 3pm, I suspect they'll text you at any point since most, if not all rooms will be ready. No experience with this myself, just relaying what other reports and another thread I read today seem to be saying.
