Getting ready for Thursday... Or could you all wait to call until I do?

I called today to try and switch my arrival date at Disney but was unable to. While I was on the phone I asked if the general public would be able to get free dining later this week...the lady I talked to said right now they only knew of the Visa card holders getting that option. She said she was unsure of the rest of us having a chance later on.

I dunno if I want to tell...

Seriously, what has me in such a panic is my kids will be starting school in August and I would much prefer to go later to give them a good start at school: 9/22-9/29 which has been planned since Feb. I think I will see if I can switch to Movies for those dates, or see if I can modify Music those dates or move a week earlier Movies or Music. Not that interested in Sports but will discuss with DH about doing Sports with free dining or just taking $400.00 on the chin and keeping Music at 40% off. My head is spinning. If he has to take over so I don't miss my appt I will lose it! He can't be trusted with such important matters. I better get offline and do an outline in case that happens!

As I was reading this I was going to suggest you do a chart up with your preferences listed top to bottom so you don't get confused!

Our dates are locked in due to airfare, so my only conundrum is with the Resorts... I really want to stay at Poly but can only afford ASMu!!!:scared:

The CM I spoke to yesterday said definitely Thursday for the general public!

That is what I like about Southwest, I can't get airfare until after this is a done deal anyway so I can be flexible!

I love Southwest but am flying Spirit this time with some vouchers that will expire if I don't use them up.

One time my best friend was flying Southwest and one of the flight attendants was hiding in the overhead carry on compartment and said "BOO!" when they opened it up to put the luggage in!!! Too much!:rotfl2:

I am so glad that I have the version of Internet Explorer with tabs so I can alternate between the Disney site and this one, so I can hang up if people report it isn't open to the public. Lets hope your source is correct!

They do have very entertaining flight attendents!

Oh, I will be so sad if the "source" is wrong and us none card holders are SOL when it comes to free dining. I am not a morning person but I too will be up at 5:30 on Thursday ready to dial. We will be there 9/9-9/15.

we are going 9/16-9/23 and staying at AS Sports. I haven't booked my airfare yet- waiting to see what Southwest has for those dates, I guess they probably won't be released until late next month- what a bummer!! Right now AirTran is looking good- they now have nonstop flights from Buffalo to MCO but I really want Southwest- I love them, they are awesome!!

I hope so too, I have really been stressing over this and if it doesn't work out I will be really mad that I have put myself through so much for nothing!!!

the Buffalo airport is soooooooo much better than Toronto. I usually fly out of Buffalo but have to drive to Detroit this time. Only 90 mins longer.... 90 long minutes... with 2 children in my car... at least the dog who gets car sick easily won't be along...

I used to live in Detroit, or Dearborn, which is so close to where the airport is!

That does stink! I might have the same problem, I might have to drive 3 hours to get the better fare, but it would have to be a much better fare!

I keep thinking that I am obsessing about this and worrying and that I will get the FDP and then a giant hurricane will ruin our plans.... When we stayed at WL we had to leave WDW 2 days early because of a hurricane. I hope not this time!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Is flying out of Detriot cheaper?? Good Luck to you. Yes you are right Buffalo Airport is pretty awesome since they have expanded greatly.

flying out of Detroit or Buffalo is about the same if you fly with Spirit, AirTran, Southwest etc, But it is wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy cheaper than flying out of Toronto. The usual ticket in Toronto gets $247 CAN added to it as a departure tax just for the privlege of flying out of that airport. It is ridiculous! I can fly the entire flight cheaper than just the taxes in Toronto out of Buffalo or Detroit!

I am nervous about Thursday morning...we have a party of 8 and I'm going to try the Grand Gatherings line first because supposedly that's who can handle our reservation (several people waited on hold on the regular res. line and then got transferred to GG line only to be on hold AGAIN)...

SO that better be the right stinking number to call !!!! LOL

We have a res. at BCV and I'd love to get free dining but as of today, I've only seen ONE person here say that they've gotten free dining there. Maybe most people are trying for values/moderates to save lots of money...?

I want food! I want food! I want FREEEEEEE food!!!!!

I know it makes the $9 ticket not all that economical after all. How does Detroit compare to Buffalo (I get lost very easy;) ).

I can answer that quite easily for you, Detroit is a big mess! Very big airport, no time to get in the lane you want to get to where you want, long walk from security to terminal. They do have a cool moving walkway though.
