Anyone else done this? We were leaving ROTM, and a guy approached us doing a survey. THen he asked if I wanted to make $20 for viewing a tv show. I'm always up for easy money, so I agreed. DS was not old enough to get paid, but they let him watch. It was actually a really good show about an alien invasion of sorts called Day One. I hope it does make it to tv, because we want to know what happens next, LOL. I got paid $20 cash after the show and answering some questions. The storefront is on the street that runs parallel to ROTM towards the front of US.

Here is the show we got to watch. This is a trailer, but we got to watch the whole first episode. Some of the scenes were not finished yet, so you could see the green screen...

Yes, that is Delancey Street Preview.

We often have people who are new to Universal complaining about the surveys. Many of the survey people pay you money. I've done the tv show previews and several food tasting surveys and earned money.

Sometimes it's just nice to get out of the heat and into some air conditioning and sit down. Some of the surveys are as little as 15 minutes long for a little extra cash.

Yeah, I did a survey earlier in the week that just took a minute. I also let the Westgate guy talk to me because I wanted the Blue Man Group tickets. I got those by enduring the 4 hour presentation, but it was worth it. The tv show was really good and my son really hopes it makes it to the schedule.

i love doing the surveys!!

i have done quite a few of them over the years and getting $$ for my time is great.

I did one before HHN one night last year but as soon I as said I was local...he didn't seem interested any longer.

We saw the pilot of that show about the group of friends that won the lottery together. I don't think it made it past the first season though on tv. I also got paid $3 one time to taste some mashed potatoes, lol.

I haven't seen anyone complain but I did do a survey at Disney and they didn't pay me anything and it was a boring "how was your time" 5 ish min computer survey. I would of much rather seen a tv show or tasted some mashed potatoes.

I always assume the ppl with clip boards are trying to sell you something.(Sometimes they are) I may have to stop closing my eyes, plugging my ears, and running by them next time I see some.

On our last trip we went out to dinner and got hounded by someone leaving restaurant for a timeshare. He basically called us idiots for not wanting "free money". Anytime I have to sit somewhere I don't want to be for 3 hrs its not "free money" anyway you spin it. I'm on vacation if I want free money for sitting around then I will go back to work.

But anyway I said after that I am saying that I live in Orlando so they stop annoying me with those things. I think that is the first time I have had someone actually follow me out of the restaurant hounding me to go though.

Me and DW did one this past june and got paid $10.00 each and it was looking at commercials for Jay lenos show and the trailer I didn't like got put on air :lmao:

I like doing the surveys that pay cash (or at least Universal dollars...that's what we've gotten). Years ago at Disney we got like $30 bucks to make two long distance phone calls to anyone we wanted. That's back when AT&T still sponsored Spaceship Earth. Forget the timeshares tho'...I just ignore them.

I wish I knew we would get paid for the survery, DH and I were approached 3 times and I thought they were the timeshare people so DH said thanks but no thanks. :sad2:

i usually find the survey people around the Monsters Cafe.
well, that was last year where i was seeing them.

one year it was in the park area on the back street.
the park across the disaster area entrance.

i think it has been since 2003 that i have done the surveys.
some were the soda taste groups, one for using batteries and while sitting with an employee answering the questions about the batteries, some tv shows, etc.
some surveys i did were over within 15 minutes and very few lasted close to an hour.

i have been paid both ways, universal money and cash on the spot.

i don't know what the employees are wearing now but the last few times i was approached, they were clean cut looking guys in white shirts and slacks.
