Getting out cat pee smell

a long time ago my cat peed under the front seat of my can on the way home from the vet. i sprayed an entire aerosol can of lysol on it, only thing that worked for me. good luck!

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try the white vinegar today. I only paid $25 for the suitcase. It's got Mickey on it and they don't seem to sell it anymore :guilty:

Try cleaning it well with vinegar. Vinegar works wonders on animal urine smells. Can't guarantee it will get every bit out, but it's worth a try.

My mom has over sensitive smelling, and due to I use vinegar to clean with (including mopping and add to ALL my laundry) she barely notices any animal smells when she visits.

:confused3 once dd12 took the cat out and put in the tent ---he peed in it we had to throw the tent out.................I am going to try this DumbCat, he has peed on the hardwood floor and now always goes and looks at the spot..... :confused3 thanks for the tips!

From now on, HIDE the suitcase. Pets are smarter than you think - my cat and dog get all spazzed out when they see suitcases, because they know we're leaving and they're not going with us.

My cat has yet to target the suitcase, but I don't leave it out and unattended, either.

What are they going to do whe it's their clothes that smell like that though? Atleast we'd all be able to spot, er smell, them at Disney. No green Mickey heads required!

We use Nature's Miracle. You need something that will totally eliminate the smell so they won't pee there again. We did NM in Tycho's favorite corner and he hasn't used it since. Stain and smell is gone as well.

Our cat peed on my dressing table stool a few weeks ago. I had to throw out the seat pad it was stinky!!!! :p She must have got locked in our bedroom by accident. Previous pee accidents include the time when she got stuck underneath our 4 drawer bed base she climbed in through a narrow opening of a drawer then out of the drawere in the gap in the middle. It took ages to work out where the mews came from. She peed on DHs boxer shorts !!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We use "Natures Miracle" for all pet "oopsies" in our house. Works like a charm! We get it at Petco. It is an enzyme cleaner so works all types of pet stains.

This stuff even got blood out of the carpet from when my husband was clipping the dog's nails in the house. (Yes, Ladies, IN THE HOUSE!!!) Thank goodness for the Nature's Miracle or we would be less one DH here!

I use thew Natures Miracle too, it works! But I use the one that is formulated just for cats. The trick is to really soak it good and let it air dry. My cat also loves to bless my suitcases so I took them outside, soaked them and kept them out until they were dry. No more smell. It works on carpets too. She also likes to pee in the laundry baskets on occasion and I re-wash the clothes using the natures miracle, no problems with smell.

I don't know the answer, but I think I'd rather have cat pee in a suitcase than a toaster!
DH came home the other day after doing an AC job. In the midst of a conversation his customer said he had to put the cat out becuase he 'pee's in the toaster.' Needless to say, DH was a bit grossed out :crazy2: and could only imagine how the costumer figured what his cat was doing. Thank you-but no toast for me in that house!

ewwwww. Maybe the kitty didn't like the smell of burnt toast :rotfl:

Replace the suitcase and be glad she didn't pee on the sofa.
