Getting on a plane? DON'T COUGH too much . . .

Actually, I like talking to people who sometimes disagree with me, it makes life interesting. It would be SOOOO (big words!!!!!!!) boring is everyone always thought the same thing. :grouphug:

ME TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol

I can be mean, though, so it's ok if you insinuate that. ;)

Actually, I hardly ever get sick so I don't care if I sit next to a coughing person or not. I just don't understand why he's a "jerk" The girl herself said she was coughing so hard that she lost her voice, couldn't catch her breath and was in a panic. Seems to me that he was just overly cautious, I doubt it's a character issue on his part.

Well, know how people post that kind of thing... a half back-...well you know the word...insult (my points run out tomorrow, hate to add more bypassing the filter!)

It is a matter of degree issue. It is like the guy that pulls out in front of you when you are driving, and you think..."what a jerk!" It isn't a damn you to everlasting hell condemnation...just a knee-jerk opinion.:)

I understand. I don't have any points (yet!)

I just kind of think the pilot is getting a bum deal here. We live in a very litigious society, he acted overly cautious..as a result...nothing really happened. I just don't see the big deal. ;)

I didn't until last night and even then I think they were kinda BS points but I took them like a man! *I THINK* ;)

I'm kind of surprised that I don't have any points. "Sarcastic" kind of describes me...perfectly. :thumbsup2

I guess if you toss in enough smilies and stuff, no one reports you? :hippie:

Well apparently I bypassed the filter here *though I really didn't circumvent the supposed filter I just posted it in all it's glory and it went through* and voila.....I got 30 points and I DID use :cloud9: throughout the day!
Apparently I need to stick to mice and fluff! :lmao:

You wrote that a kid suddenly had an asthma attack and died from it. That seemed to imply that you felt that no one with asthma should fly, because they might have an attack in the plane and die. I'm not sure how else to interpret your post in relation to this thread. :confused3

Anne

Actually, I was implying that maybe the pilot was asuming that. Anne, I haven't read the whole thread (which maybe I should next time) so maybe other details have been brought forth. From reading the first few posts, I was under the impression that maybe the pilot was concerned the young lady could die from her coughing attack. I was just affirming sadly that I know of someone that died of a coughing attack. :sad1:

I understand what you AND *there I go again boardwalk ;) * Anne are saying! She thought *as did I* that you were saying that asthmatic kids shouldn't be flying and you thought that it was a good example of what COULD happen.

Don't be totally offended! Both of you misunderstood each other....so did I and others *right boardwalk and mh mama?*! It's all good right?

No harm...........no foul!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

It's ok Hydster, everyone still loves you.

Truth be told, I would be pretty darn annoyed if I got tossed off a flight for a cough.

OTOH, I would feel pretty darn mad if I were the pilot and the gal died on my flight and then I got sued over it.

You can't win em' all.

Where's the "died from over-dose of sweetness" smilie? ;)

Um it's visiting and kissing susie and perla right now and will post about it tomorrow! sorry...check back later!

Bolding IS mine

If your dh *the doc* had made the call that day *which he didn't I KNOW* but if he had would you still be saying that the pilot made the right call? Something in me says no! I know I'd trust my dh over a pilot if he was a doc anyday!

My DH wouldn't presume to tell the pilot how to do his job, particularly as a passenger. If asked, he will give his opinion but it is an opinion only without the responsibility of a plane load of passengers and a teenager he briefly encounters in the airport.

I agree with the pilot.. Too long of a flight that involved areas where the plane could not land had the situation deteriorated..

UMMMMM to my limited *and your* knowledge he didn't tell the pilot how to do his JOB just that the girl was FINE! There is a difference there but if you choose to see otherwise continue to fly continental and their stellar service to Hawaii.

He gave his opinion.....the pilot gave him the finger and threw her off the plane. If *hypothetically here ok..HYPOTHETICALLY* your dh TOLD a pilot that the kid was able to fly*which apparently happened as reported on here and other places* would YOU as his spouse take your dh's word?? THAT was what I was asking!!!Don't spin it......that was what I asked you!

Why couldn't it land? It was only 1/2 way across water and that was 1/2 way through the flight. DO THE MATH. They leave NY..they fly over the continental US right???????? I mean they cross places like St., Louis, Denver, LA to GO to Hawaii or is my geography severely off? They had FIVE *count them*FIVE hours OVER land to stop if needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead they kicked her off before anything happened!

Yeah that was wise! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:goodvibes Everything's good with me! ;) Not offended. Don't usually get involved in the debate threads, especially after a day of Junior High before Spring Break but it was kind of therapeutic!!! Thanks.

Carry on guys!!:thumbsup2
